Raw Story reports that a “leaked trailer” of the Oliver Stone’s new biopic W. “suggests the film will focus on George W. Bush’s transition from youthful drunken lout to President of the United States.” George H. W. Bush, played by James Cromwell, asks his son, played by Josh Brolin: “What are you cut out for? Partying? Chasing tail? Driving drunk? Who do you think you are, a Kennedy? You’re a Bush. Act like one.” Watch it:
Stone tells the LA Times, “We are trying to walk in the footsteps of W and try to feel like he does, to try to get inside his head. But it’s never meant to demean him.” Brolin adds, “It’s not a political movie. It’s a biography.” Wonkette’s movie review: “Just looks terrible, all around.”

You’re a Bush dammit! Act like one.”
Bad news for Poppy Bush, Jr.’s been acting like a Bush.
July 28th, 2008 at 11:37 amWhy would I want to pay good money to see some trust fund kid act like an idiot. I can do that for free elsewhere…hint: MSM

So , it’s focusing on Chimpy’s descent from bad to worse ……
July 28th, 2008 at 11:46 am“We are trying to walk in the footsteps of W and try to feel like he does, to try to get inside his head. But it’s never meant to demean him.” Brolin adds
They should have hired a specialist in abnormal psychology, to try to actually understand W and to treat the actors after trying to emulate him.
July 28th, 2008 at 11:47 amStone tells the LA Times, “We are trying to walk in the footsteps of W and try to feel like he does, to try to get inside his head.”
The clip shows a dark cavern filled with cobwebs.
July 28th, 2008 at 11:49 amO/T: The shooter in Knoxville said the reason why he wanted to murder the innocent was because of his hatred for gays and liberals. In other words, he’s a typical faux watching reich-winger.
July 28th, 2008 at 11:50 amWonkette’s movie review: “Just looks terrible, all around.”
Just like Bush’s presidency.
July 28th, 2008 at 11:51 amCan’t wait to see how many Razzies this one wins.
July 28th, 2008 at 11:53 amBush proves his historical status anew with a record deficit

July 28th, 2008 at 11:53 amCraig and Obama on one button - an error of the manufacturer
And I can guarantee that movie will flop. Who in their right mind would want to pay good money to sit through 2 + hours of the life and times of George Bu$h?
I’d rather watch a documentary on amoebic asexual reproduction.
July 28th, 2008 at 11:53 amA better title would be, “The SocioPath To 9/11.”
*rimshot*
Thankyewthankyewverrymuch…..
July 28th, 2008 at 11:54 amDarn, I used to like Elizabeth Banks.
July 28th, 2008 at 11:55 amStone said this isn’t a “Bush bashing” film, but come on. How can it not be? Just portraying him in a normal light will be a bash, he’s not a renaissance man by any means.
July 28th, 2008 at 11:56 amthis is going to be hilarious… the entire thing looks like an SNL skit. would rather see Darell Hammond as Cheney though.
dispite the lulz I’ll wait for the dvd.
July 28th, 2008 at 11:57 am.
He’s still George Worst Bush EVER!
.
July 28th, 2008 at 11:59 amI wouldn’t pay to see any movie about GW unless Will Ferrell was in it.

It’s just unavoidable.

Why?
Why?
Would anyone make a film about that subject matter?
July 28th, 2008 at 12:00 pmWhy the hell would I put myself through this?
July 28th, 2008 at 12:01 pmEight years was enough.
Jeesh.

But according to the Wall Street Journal, Batman: The Dark Knight is a Bush bio-pic!

July 28th, 2008 at 12:01 pmlol…So did they leave out the skull and bones death cult? What about the bohemian grove? I’m sure ol’ dubya will like this white wash. I wonder how much blow they’ll have him doing.
July 28th, 2008 at 12:04 pmyouthful drunken lout
Bush was razzing it until he was 40. That’s one very long transition.
July 28th, 2008 at 12:04 pmYeah…we’ve seen this movie. Once was/is quite enough.
July 28th, 2008 at 12:06 pmClearly, there is a major false premise underlying this film. Somehow, the story arc here is wrong. Just when did GDumbya transition from a drunken lout? I give you one thing — he did get older. But he is still a drunken lout.
I think I will give this movie a pass. I am not even interested in renting the DVD when it comes out after single weekend screening in theaters. Like everything else about GDumbya, this film will be a total flop.
July 28th, 2008 at 12:09 pmThis will be good. I can’t wait to hear what all the church nazis will say when they see this almost honest portrayal of their messiah.

Sure, it is designed to flop. For added realism, the movie will run a huge deficit, and bankrupt the movie company.
July 28th, 2008 at 12:15 pmIf you are going to see only one a$$hole-drunk’s transformation into a$$hole-president movie this summer, let this be the one.
July 28th, 2008 at 12:16 pmThis has got to be one of those ‘comic tragedy’ flicks……
July 28th, 2008 at 12:17 pmWhy does that need to be the title? It would just bring forth endless reminders of the classic Benson line.
July 28th, 2008 at 12:25 pmIt’d be a helluva lot more funny if they just used the movie “Dumb and Dumber” and digitized Shrub, Dick, and papa Bush faces onto the main characters.
And it would actually make them all look brighter than they are in real life.
July 28th, 2008 at 12:27 pmMe?
July 28th, 2008 at 12:33 pmI just wish the subject of the film were actually, you know, dead, first?

July 28th, 2008 at 12:36 pmGWBush taylor made cut out to FAIL. You’re a Bush, a criminal, so act like one! And so he did. His crime is messy, a lot of people have died because of him. Even at being a criminal, he’s incompetent. To his advantage, America is so numb and doped up it is unable to oust this illegitimate war criminal failed ruler!
July 28th, 2008 at 12:40 pmahhhh, the lifes and “crimes” of George W. Bush
July 28th, 2008 at 12:41 pm“Who do you think you are, a Kennedy? You’re a Bush. Act like one.”
Yeah… go break some laws, go invade a country, order someone be tortured, insult our European allies, kill a few million of them dark people… c’mon, you are a Bush.
July 28th, 2008 at 12:43 pmThis Movie has already been made!
It’s called The Godfather…..
Just Replace The Corleone Crime Family
with The Bush Crime Family…..
They would have to change the script a little….
July 28th, 2008 at 12:45 pmGeorge W. Bush star in the Role of:
Fredo Corleone…. Fredo is not very bright and appears to be the weakest of the Corleone brothers

That needs to be the title!!
July 28th, 2008 at 12:18 pm
Joe Kennedy was a bootlegger ; Chimpy’s grandfather , Prescott , was in business with the Nazis.
Doubtful that anyone could claim (correctly) that the Shrubs are more patriotic than the Kennedys……..
The title should be “Silver-Spoon-In-His-Mouth from Nazis”….

Maybe it should be titled “The Decent of the American Dream.”
tony and guidedog lido
What’d they do, inject Josh with something that causes profound stupidness so he could ‘walk in his footsteps’ & ‘feel like he does’?
July 28th, 2008 at 12:54 pmGive Bush a third term: 20 years to life.
July 28th, 2008 at 12:58 pmActually, I agree with Tanqueray on this one. The title should be Who do you think you are, a Kennedy?
Both families are political dynasties, but the Kennedys are American icons, known for their willingness to play hard but better known for their commitment to the public interest.
The name “Kennedy” is respected around the world for the family’s achievements in national and international politics and public service.
“Bush” is a brand name, now thoroughly trashed.
Seems like a perfect title to me.
July 28th, 2008 at 1:00 pmA sequel to Planet of the Apes?
Meanwhile, it was just reported that Robert Novak has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.
All together, now- AAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWW!
July 28th, 2008 at 1:00 pmMeanwhile, it was just reported that Robert Novak has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Yup. Most folks use the “I’m going to rehab” out when they’re in legal trouble. You know — Lohan, Limpballs, etc.
Novakula is using the lesser know but equally effective “I have a brain tumor” defense in his hit-and-run case.

It is. Heath Ledger plays a perfect GW Bush.
July 28th, 2008 at 1:37 pmI think I’ll wait for it to come out on dvd before I don’t watch it.
July 28th, 2008 at 2:10 pmI thought “What’s Eating Glibert Grape” was W’s bio-pic.
July 28th, 2008 at 2:44 pmWhat will this film accomplish — it will confirm what all of us here already know — and it will incite the repugnicans to use it as ammunition against “liberals.”
July 28th, 2008 at 2:55 pmWhether or not it is released before the election or after - a film like this may be more valuable in about 20 years when the next generation is trying to figure all this out, after their history books have been re-written to accommodate W’s legacy.
This is exactly the reason why we should have condoms in every school.
July 28th, 2008 at 3:53 pmFrom “young drunken lout” to old cross-addicted, drunken, lout. He hasn’t learned anything.
July 28th, 2008 at 4:08 pmAmericans make me nauseated. They love, love the guy they vote in as President, then when its time for him to go, they hate him and degrade him. Lets see one of you do his job..dumb asses.
July 30th, 2008 at 10:18 amThere are 2 movies called “W The Movie” and Stone’s is actually the 2nd one. The first, apparently, has been in the works since 2005 and I discovered the trailer for it on youtube.
The ‘other W’ is a lot different and it looks very psychedelic.
