Not only based on issues, but as McCain seems to be so adled that he makes Shrub look coherrent.

He can be entertaining when I’m in the right mood but, he will never, ever, offer a reality based opinion on any subject. He’s immune to the effects of reason and logic. I don’t want you to waste time trying to appeal to a humanity which isn’t there.

My perspective, if you are angry that the rich/upper middle class are not paying enough taxes and are receiving benefits that you can’t receive, get off of your lazy butt and become an enterprising person. Socialism=communism, liberalism=laziness. I refuse to financially support people who are not educationally motivated. In order to work, you must eat. If you want lobster, prepare yourself for that type of life.

Who do you think we are anyway? I am betting that everyone posting here is in much better financial condition and much more educated than you are.

Don’t assume you know what my assets are. I came from a poor family, but we worked very hard and got ahead. Now I can afford to eat lobster every night of the week if I wanted to. I can even afford to feed you, if you told me you were hungry. I graduated summa cum laude from a private university in the Northeast and am a member of Phi Beta Kappa. The generosity of the federal gov’t plus private individuals put me through college, and I couldn’t have done it otherwise. I also worked several jobs while in school. Do I pay a lot of taxes? Yes. But I want to give back to others so they can have the same opportunities I did.

Also, I was in the Army ROTC and a member of Scabbard & Blade (the national military honor society). I would have been commissioned as an officer in the army had I not come down with a chronic illness that I was disqualified for.

You also assume to know my values, and you do not. I am pro ALL life. Not like members of your party who pick and choose whose life is more valuable. I am against abortion, the death penalty, and war. As for homosexuality, I think that the government has no business telling everyone how to run their personal lives. I do not judge others, and leave the judging to God. (And I pray daily!)

Did you even bother to read Wayne’s post? He said “It was Liberals that ended slavery and conservatives who wanted to keep it going.” And he’s right. Of course, the Republicans WERE the liberals and the progressives at that time, and the liberals and progressives of today applaud what they did. Yes, Republicans abolished slavery. Yes, their numbers included many ex-Democrats and many ex-Whigs. Your link does nothing to rebut Wayne’s point, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the GOP today.

And Wayne responded to your pack of misinformation very well — I can’t think of anything to add to it.
