Pelosi suggests Rove contempt citation is possible.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi applauded a federal judge’s ruling today that White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten and former White House counsel Harriet Miers are not immune from congressional subpoenas. It’s “victory for the Constitution,” Pelosi said, adding, “Of course, it has ramifications for other contempt resolutions we’re considering in the House.” She said the Judiciary Committee has “given us the road map we need to move forward” on contempt citations against numerous White House officials who have refused to testify before congressional committees.

I want to know what dirt the Republicans have on N.P.

Must be something big since she made it clear that impeachment was off the table…

    Kay,

Never underestimate the persuasive power of Anthrax or a private plane ride on Wellstone Airlines.

Of course is anyone surprised that it has taken a right-leaning judge to potentially show Pelosi that it may be okay for her to do her job.

  9. Bilbo Hussein Baggins says:

It’s “victory for the Constitution,” Pelosi said..

It’s not a victory for the constitution if they don’t enforce it. It’s time to dust off Inherent Contempt. I understand that the Democrats entered into some kind of an agreement with the Republicans about Inherent Contempt (not to use it). But, apparently the Republicans have not kept up their end of the bargain, so it’s time to haul it out. Send the Sargent of Arms out after Meiers and Bolton and then tell Rove that he will be next.

  10. Keith H. says:

She’s worked hand in hand with bush’s administration from the get go. She won’t be changing her direction any time soon and will continue to protect them.
This victory for the Constitution remark is just for show.

  11. hanshiro says:

Watch out! Pelosi and her Nancy-Boys are threatening to start to begin to commence initiation on talks about sending a stern warning letter about possible action..maybe!…

This time, she’s sorta, kinda dead serious…if that’s okay, that is…

  12. StratRat says:

We might be getting close here folks. I am not too hopeful, but this might begin to turn the tide.

Of course, our trolls will defend Rove till the end of days – and Rove will laugh at them for their stupidity. Rove knows he is a criminal; he also enjoys the right side tying itself up in knots trying to keep him out of jail.

Tell me again, why is Rove considered smart? His dad left the family. His mom committed suicide. Rove dropped out of school. Rove was a protege of Lee Atwater’s dirty politics.

Tell again, why is considered so smart and untouchable? I do feel sorry for his wife, though. Lying underneath that turdblossom – even once every month – has got to test her spousal responsibilities.

  13. Oval12345678 aka James K. Sayre says:

Little Miss Nancy P., the first woman Speaker of the House, is just another traitor and whore for Bush and his crime family. Are the trains running on time, now Miss Nancy? Let’s hope that the good folks in San Francisco vote her out in the November election and replace her with the wise and courageous Cindy Sheehan…

  14. paleolib says:

Note to Nancy: Stop talking, start citing. Now. Before this crock of turds flushes its way across the border in January. No more Nixon-like rehabilitations. Get the truth out. Get prosecutions where warranted, convictions where merited.

  15. DukeGray13 says:

    it is possible?

So can I break the law now?
Why not hold people accountable for crimes? why not ivestigate if there was a crime (you know impeachment)?

Why are we letting the get away with this?

  19. abarts says:

Good luck with that. Nancy has been completely worthless and should be removed from office. We were duped in 2006.

  20. Leftside Annie says:

Gee. That’s so sweet of her!!

  21. Nat says:

“Pelosi suggests Rove contempt citation is possible.”

Why the hell is she suggesting this? She should be saying: “a contempt citation will be issued tomorrow at 9AM.”

  22. Fan of Man says:

nancy, you are the one who should be investigated! obstruction is just as bad as the crimes that have been committed by bushco.

  23. Marie says:

Yet, Pelosi said on “the view” this week that “if evidence were presented against Bush&Co, it would be another story.” Or words pretty close to that.
How can she say there hasn’t been any evidence? What does she need to order a hearing on criminal charges of impeachment? It would be like a grand jury, no? After the evidence is heard a determination is made — she seems to be looking for a slam dunk (excuse the phrase) before the facts are presented in a legal forum. So, Nancy, provide the legal forum and get the facts on the record – then proceed.

  24. dixie blood says:

Nancy PollLooser is the worst Speaker of the House from the Democratic Party in all of history!

    Equally matching GW Botch’s incompetence!!!

  25. Blame Canada says:

Uh, oh. Nancy’s lying eye’s are glazing over again when she starts talking about investigating George Bush and his cronies.

Do you hear that knocking sound? Why yes. Yes it is. We’ve heard that sound many times before. It’s Nancy’s knees knocking together in fear of investigating the WH.

Give it up folks. The all the crooks are going to get away with it, and they can thank Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid for it.

  26. misshusseinmolly says:

OK, Nancy — you’ve been given your road map. Now would you mind shifting into drive and moving forward, and quit idling in neutral?

Rove was a protege of Lee Atwater’s dirty politics.

    _________________________________________________________

Now, now — Rove’s r*tf**king resume goes back even further than that. He was also a protege of Donald Segretti. Maybe you’re old enough to remember all the dirty tricks CREEP did for Nixon’s re-election in 1972? Those were the work of Segretti and his nefarious band, which included Rove.

What a pitiful cause for celebration.

After almost 8 long years of the Bush crime family mis-administration, we think that getting a political aide to answer a congressional subpoena is something remarkable.

What a sad view of justice.

We are truly a disgrace to the Founding Fathers.

Better get something for that affliction. No need giving your wife herpes. Then you will have to admit you been sucking Cheney’s C0ck.
    C0cksucker

  33. liberal traitor says:

Nancy is complicit in warrantless wiretapping (she knew about it BEFORE the media broke the story, and did NOTHING) and she is complicit in the US policies condoning torture (again, she knew about it BEFORE any of us did, and did NOTHING).

She is therefore just as guilty as those she is sworn to bring to justice, those she is sworn to hold accountable.

Nancy Pelosi is a criminal, I fear she will never do anything she is obligated to do vis a vis her oath of office…

We may well have to wait until AFTER the election to really see anything of substance.

  34. NoOneYouKnow says:

The best protection for the Constitution right now would be for Pelosi to be recalled by her constituents. It’s obvious she’s collaborating with Bushco.

  37. Wayne A. Schneider says:

I’m not celebrating yet. Bush lost in Federal Court. Won’t he appeal to the SCOTUS in order to get a ruling (once and for all) on the issue of Executive Privilege? He’s already got four rock solid votes (Thomas/Scalia/Roberts/Alito), so he only needs one more.

If he wins at the SCOTUS level, it will literally mean the end of our constitutional form of government. It will mean that the president could literally do anything he wanted to do, with absolute impunity for himself and for those who break the law in his name.

  38. Bluegene says:

With Pelosi running interference the Republicans will merely run out the clock until pardon time. Pelosi is an enemy of the people and the Constitution.

  39. theswan says:

Nancy is so disengenuous it hurts. The trails have all been blazed by others only to have the table taken out from under them. She will likely burn the constitution with w at their next picnic rather than follow the people’s wishes.
I’m lookin for Cindy to do her dirt, just as she has her own party.

  40. tyler82 says:

contempt citation is possible. Why aren’t I reading: We will ARREST Rove and it is now our top priority. Who the hell is in charge here????

  41. tyler82 says:

“We will be inclined to potentially deal with the controversial situation perhaps in the possible timeframe that may arrive at a time when we feel it necessary to issue a non- binding citation that states that Mr. Rove might have to testify under oath, unless of course he doesn’t want to.”
