as I wrote in an earlier thread…none of this really matters unfortunately, or it probably won’t matter.

Why?

Two words:

Nancy Pelosi. She will never allow the House to bring ANY member of the Bush White House to justice if she can help it. And the reason why is very simple:

Nancy is complicit in warrantless wiretapping (she knew about it BEFORE the media broke the story, and did NOTHING) and she is complicit in the US policies condoning torture (again, she knew about it BEFORE any of us did, and did NOTHING).

She is therefore just as guilty as those she is sworn to bring to justice, those she is sworn to hold accountable.

Nancy Pelosi is a criminal, I fear she will never do anything she is obligated to do vis a vis her oath of office…to hold any of these thugs, liars, and thieves accountable would be to possibly expose her own culpability.

We may well have to wait until AFTER the election to really see anything of substance.

You know somethin’ JT, McCain doesn’t have a leg to stand on. And it’s driving you nuts and into an extreme nitty-picky mode. I hope that Obama is the most liberal president of all time, because that’s the kind of absorbant sheet we’ll need to clean up the mess left behind by the most crazily conservative administration of all time.

Do you ever hear those who call into some of these radio shows? I listen to Alan Colmes, and he’s left in shock at the creativity of some nasty callers who stick it to Obama on anything other than the issues.

If you can’t deal with the facts, put down your cards and leave the table.

Walter Jones is a conservative Republican, but he’s also a straight shooter who isn’t afraid to go against his party if he believes they are wrong.

Jones voted to authorize Bush to use force against Iraq, and even went so far to lead the charge to re-name the fries in the cafeteria to Freedom Fries (remember that?), but he has since done a 180 on the war and opposes it. Not only that, but he has called on Dubya to apologize to America for giving Congress misleading (incorrect) information about it.

He’s conservative in a kind of Libertarian way (he’s a supporter of Ron Paul), but not a crook. I believe he will join the Dems in holding Rove’s feet to the fire.

A federal judge on Thursday rejected President Bush’s contention that senior White House advisers are immune from subpoenas, siding with Congress’ power to investigate the executive branch and handing a victory to Democrats probing the dismissal of nine federal prosecutors.

The unprecedented ruling undercut three presidential confidants who have defied congressional subpoenas for information that Bush says is protected by executive privilege. Democrats swiftly announced they would schedule hearings in September, at the height of election season.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the House could soon vote on a contempt citation against one of the three officials, Karl Rove, formerly Bush’s top adviser.
