Whatever one thinks of Rove, et. al (I am not a fan), I hope if I ever do have to appear before a judge, he will make his decision based on the evidence and applicable law(s) alone, & leave his personal views out of it. I’m too risk averse to gamble that the jurist has a perspective that reflects my own.

While people on all points of the political spectrum agree that our legal system isn’t perfect, indeed sometimes highly political (esp. when not reflecting YOUR personal opinions), aren’t we ALL supposed to encourage impartiality? (or at least the appearance thereof?) The judge’s comment just didn’t clear that hurdle.
