I’ve enjoyed tabletop role-playing games (as opposed to their more recent online descendants like World of Warcraft) for more than 30 years. I’ve also managed to hold down a successful career, serve seven years in the U.S. Army, earn a Masters’ Degree and survive a 10-year marriage.

And I am far from alone.

In my time, for every gamer I’ve met who comes close to fitting the nasty and ill-informed stereotyping, there’ve been a dozen or more who are just regular folks. Many of them, in fact, are conservatives. None that I know of (including myself) are dKos diarists.

How many of you are sitting in your underwear (and only your underwear?)

I’m on the second floor in my study. My house — which does not belong to my mother — doesn’t have a basement.

D&D is old school… I prefer PS3, PSP, and Wii nowadays. I’ll even be nice and not challenge McCain to Wii Sports, since it requires moving your arms all around.

I don’t like Cheetos, but I have been known to eat sushi at my computer.

And I am fully dressed, and with underwear this time!

On a more serious note, I do find this ironic, because that’s my usual attack on trolls here, especially when they get childish.

It makes you wonder, doesn’t it, whether the wingnuts have been reading these comments for a year or two? My original contention was that Mr Pee was amped up on Doritos and Red Bull, but I’m willing to go with Cheetos. The whole “basement in his underwear” thing, though, is creepily familiar.

If they start talking about p!ss-soaked bloggers, Zooey will have to sue.

Nope, I’m at work. Wouldn’t want to spend time in my mother’s basement, only because she’s a born again Catholic Republican. There’s only so much I can take.
Hell, I’m still uneducated on Guitar Hero, and my 6 year old son beats the living snot out of me SnowBoarding for the Game Cube. You think I could manage D & D? yah, me neither.
My kids love Cheezie puffs, I don’t.
Right now, I’m in business casual, but it if it helps, I’ve imagined ya’ll in your undies.

Oh, and I’ve never inhaled ether, but I do remember in school sniffing exam papers that were freshly printed (yeah, I’m sadistic).
