Thank you Kane very informative. To the people who get all upset over Estate Taxes, you have to be very rich to have to pay and that fact gets left out every time a repub talks about it. Last I knew $600,000 was tax free but I may be behind times and there are other ways to pass the inheiritance down without taxation. Funny how that gets left out.

Republicans have done an incredible job convincing the average American that they will have to pay a death tax themselves…even if they make 5 figures instead of 7 figures and above…It’s the ESTATE tax, but framing it as the death tax, makes people think that they’ll have to pay it too. Republicans with their faux populism are masters at enriching the top 2% while laughing at the average American who supports them to the detriment of their economic interests…

If you know anything about business and retail you would now that Wal-Mart cannot survive with a union.
They already did without meat cutters because of the unions. That is why all of their meats are prepackaged.
If Walmart has to increase prices is bad news for consumers.
If Walmart is not highly competitive is bad new for consumers.
If Walmart raises prices is bad news for consumers.
If consumers stop driving 10 to 20 miles to shop at Walmart because there are no savings is bad news for Walmart.
Walmar needs high volume sales to be able to cover for expenses for large square footage of stores.
If Walmart is not profitable is bad news for the employees.
If Walmart files for bankruptcy is bad news for every body associated with Walmart.
If Walmart goes out of business the unions won’t care but the employees will be out of a job and the consumers will have lost the lower retail prices that Walmart offers.
To summarize the unions and Walmart cannot coexist together.

What makes me curious ( and of course the big dog of retail can’t hold out forever) is why Wal Mart execs don’t realize that, in all likelihood, the vast majority of their routine customers are probably union members? What a lovely revolt and sudden turn-around that would be! I wanna be in the parking lot!

It is so easy to fix this. If everyone were to go into shit-mart and pack up a couple of carts full-o-shit and then leave it, having “forgotten” your wallet at home, then they would need to pay lots of time to their workers to put the crap back on the shelves. Insuring jobs.

In my 10 year experience in a union I saw my wages go down, my healthcare benefits go down and my pension go down. 30-60 years ago unions might have been worth something. The unions these days are self serving corrupt entities that focus only on collecting dues off the backs of labor. No matter how low their wages.

Make more money now than I ever did in a union and I do not pay any dues :-)

Walmart is treading on very thin ice and may very well be in violation of Federal Law!

According to Federal Law, an employer cannot:

* Fire, punish, intimidate, or coerce employees seeking to organize or join a union
* Threaten to close the facility or lay off employees if they organize a union
* Tell employees that unionization will take away benefits and privileges currently in place.
* Bribe employees to vote against the union, or promise other benefits or privileges in order to influence their vote
* Ask about union activities, how employees intend to vote, or if they have signed a union card

My neighborhood went through a year of fighting a 24 hour Wal-mart and WE WON! But it took thousands of people and a lot of work by a lot of folks to make it happen. But we chased the bastards out and now have a Sunflower Organic market instead!

Lets not forget, when Bush and the Republican congress were moving to entirely eliminate estate taxes on the fortunes of America’s wealthiest citizens, one of the strongest advocates of the bill was the Walton family.
