Notice that Ron Paul voted against the bill. So did Duncan…that rabid “supporter of the troops” guy. Guess since it didn’t actually fund the war itself, it was unworthy of support, in his mind. I hope present and past service members are aware of his vote on this one. Jeff Flake I understand…he thinks most of the spending that has been done is irresponsible and at least takes a principled stand on this stuff.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for either the DNC or the Obama campaign to make use of this, as both groups of geniuses have proven so far to be amazingly incapable of using the ginormous number of potent issues the GOP has handed them on a silver platter over the last 8 years. Just as a fr’ instance, if any of them had a brain between them, they would have already produced and been airing ads attacking the GOP, Bush, and by extension McCain, over FEMA’s stockpiling millions of dollars worth of badly needed supplies intended for Katrina victims, with the excuse that they weren’t requested.

So far, the entire Democratic effort at the national level has been one of missed opportunities. It’s a target-rich environment, but it looks as though Harry Reid is directing the efforts. Future historians are going to shake their heads and marvel at the gross political incompetence of the Democrats.

Why not use the clip of the booing as part of a commercial. The text or voice over would read:

strong>THIS IS THE SUPPORT FOR OUR TROOPS AND VETERANS THAT WE CAN EXPECT FROM THE REPUBLILCANS. QUICK TO SEND THEM TO WAR. SLOW TO SUPPORT THEM OR CARE FOR THEM. WHERE WAS SENATOR MCCAIN AND HIS SUPPORT FOR VETERANS WHEN HIS PARTY, THE PARTY OF WHICH HE IS THE PRESUMPTIVE LEADER DURING THIS DEBATE? FUND RAISING AND AWOL FROM DUTY.

How can anyone watch this and still support the GOP? Despicable. Shameless. The troops deserve better.
This GE demands a purge of the scum that has infested DC.

Boehner
Blunt
McConnell (If he were a congressman, you know he would have been one of the booing clowns).
I pray they are shown the door this November.
