McCain’s favorite superhero is Batman: Some people think he’s just a ‘rich playboy.’

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) reveals that his favorite superhero is Batman:

He does justice sometimes against insurmountable odds. And he doesn’t make his good works known to a lot of people, so a lot of people think he’s just a rich playboy.

So according to Glenn Beck’s logic…McCain’s favorite superhero must also be President Bush.

Digg It!

E Weekly – not even good enough to wipe your dogs a$$ with.

  2. Gary Kleppe says:

The difference is, of course, McCain really is just a rich playboy.

And your post, another low in irony.

  4. raynman says:

My favorite is Green Lantern, the man born without fear…. that’s why I never vote republican….

  5. krazeeinjun says:

Oh I get it! McCain fancies himself the caped crusader – doing justice sometimes against insurmountable odds and making his good works known to a lot of people. A new low in pandering for the Pander bear.

And as far as the “rich playboy” part — well why don’t we ask the former Mrs. McCain about that?

    Just saying . . .

    sorry, i couldn’t resist

  7. Badmoodman says:

The Dark Knight (Batman) is about sexual repression and transexuality. It’s got a man in costume, childhood traumas, a live-in male butler, a relationship with a girl that never works out, violence. It writes itself.

So yeah, I can see why the GOP wants to claim a kinship with Batman.

  8. DieNowForPeace says:

I’ll take Spiderman. Always liked him as a kid, he struggles with his acquired power, and always gets hot chicks.

Batman, I believe, prefers boys (remember Robin the sidekick????)

  9. DieNowForPeace says:

Are we sure McLame’s hero isn’t Droopy Dog?

I could swear they are twins!

  10. Zimzone says:

McC*nt is jealous that Leahy got a part, eh?

McC*nt may get the next ‘Penguin’ role, however..ahee, hee, heh

  11. Zimzone says:

DieNowForPeace Says: Are we sure McLame’s hero isn’t Droopy Dog?

Nah, Droopy shows much more passion in his speech & thoughts.

  12. Zooey says:

    I would have thought Hellboy…

  13. stateofthedivision says:

I thought John was a bit batty.

  14. DRxJ says:

The Thing from the Fantastic Four????

Nahhh, then McSame would have to be tough and fierce, and strong!

  15. jaramilr says:

“according to Glenn Beck’s logic…McCain’s favorite superhero must also be President Bush.”

Not exactly. That would imply that Bush actually has some good works that “he doesn’t make known to a lot of people”.

“Are we sure McLame’s hero isn’t Droopy Dog?”

You’re thinking of Lieberman. John Stewart does a great impression of Lieberman/Droopy, by the way.

You mean a rich playboy brought and paid for by Cindy. McCain is certainly no Bruce Wayne where Wayne inherited his money from his wealthy parents.

Actually DareDevil is the man without fear. Green Lantern was a regular guy until he was given a powerful ring.
I myself prefer The Greatest American Hero, reminds me of John Edwards, cept for the whole cheating on his wife with cancer thing.

  18. tom says:

McC*nt may get the next ‘Penguin’ role, however..ahee, hee, heh

I think Darth Cheney has the Penguin part all sewn up. Actually, I think he may have been the original inspiration for the character . . . life imitating art imitating life, you know.

  19. sectionop92 says:

Batman is a superhero without any superpowers, who is forced to use both his intelligence and physical will to bring down villains who deal in homicidal rage and are well beyond the diagnosis of sociopaths. The fact that Batman chooses not to kill as a key rule, so he doesn’t become one of the villains, has been put to the limit numerous times as he’s watched his loved ones either be killed, maimed or crippled at the hands of those he battles. So McCain saying his favorite hero is Batman is dripping with irony, given his pro war stance among those things on his list. Batman/Bruce Wayne has proven you may be pushed, but the rules you live by will define who you are because being a champion means your enemies will never stop coming at you since you can’t win the fight, but only keep going at it.

What IS IT with the rights infatuation with everyone’s private sex life? Even unproven ones?
It has to be the envious complex.
    It just has to be.

I think I’ll call you “Plastic Man” because you have no back bone, and your posts are quite a stretch!

  22. Zimzone says:

McC*nt is the one handing out tire gauges, dipshit.

  23. tom says:

Nope, themis. We are all being silly in a purposeful, satiric sort of way. You are being juvenile.

  24. pete says:

Glenn Beck and Flippy McSpin agree. The best hope for a GOP victory in November is Batman. The only question left is, will he be McSpin’s running mate or will they send Flippy out to pasture at the convention?

Fcuking terrorist sympathizer, why give into the left’s so-called “propaganda” regarding tire pressure????????

  32. margerine says:

Chances are Batman is just his favorite super hero since that’s the movie that’s out right now.

Anyway, I love comic books. My favorite superhero is still Captain America, as surprising is that is even to myself.

  33. Little Freep Goofballs says:

    What’s
    THIS??

John McCain, the DORK KNIGHT, resorting to using Democrats to defeat evil?

    ILTGTPIBI

  34. DieNowForPeace says:

lucky for me I have a backup tire gauge

Too bad for us there’s no “backup brain”.

    You desperately need one.

  35. DieNowForPeace says:

it will not read anything over 35 lbs.

Ah yes, and you’ll need a more robust gauge to help inflate your Jihadi love doll.

  36. dbadass says:

I think Obama’s favorite superhero is Captain Underpants.

Well since all you EVER do is post the most ignorant drivel imaginable we didnt expect anything else from you.

  39. pakaal says:

“He does justice sometimes against insurmountable odds.”

Senator McCain, Batman doesn’t “do justice”. Hell, that’s not even a valid phrase!

And he doesn’t make his good works known to a lot of people, so a lot of people think he’s just a rich playboy.

Actually the whole point of the Batman persona is to make sure his works are well-known. That’s how he drives fear into evil-doers’ hearts! Duh! The alter-ego Bruce Wayne is a convenient mask Batman wears. Bruce Wayne IS just a rich playboy, he DOESN’T do good works.

Oh, and a private citizen fighting corruption in society and government, and protecting the poor and helpless? That’s hardly the definition of a Republican, Batman obviously leans Left.
