Asked to give Bush administration a movie title, Americans say ‘Get Smart.’

A new U.S. News and World Report poll asked respondents, “President Bush is about to get the Oliver Stone treatment in the new movie W. Of recent movies, which title best sums up your view of the Bush administration?” The results: 35 percent chose “Get Smart,” 25 percent — “X Files: I Want to Believe,” 19 percent — “Hellboy II: The Golden Army,” 14 percent — “Batman: The Dark Knight,” and 7 percent — “Enchanted.”

Digg It!

Something is amiss in the U.S. capital, Washington, D.C. Initially, Dr. Miles Bennell (Kevin McCarthy) dismisses reports from the citizenry accusing The President and everyone who works for him of behaving like automatons. But the doctor soon makes a startling discovery: Extraterrestrials capable of replicating humans and assuming their identities have invaded Washington D.C. It’s up to Bennell to sound the alarm and almost single-handedly battle the alien forces.

What I find to be illuminating is that they are so concerned with a guy who’s not running for anything. They can’t find any dirt on Obama so they go ape-scat over Edwards? WTF?

I’m pretty sure that Mr. Edwards is assured of plenty of free time to deal with his personal issues and I fail to see how they can be projected onto Obama. But that won’t keep the Reichwingers from trying.

John Kerry – clearly you do not understand the purpose and mission of this blog. Whether or not John Edwards was faithful to his wife has nothing to do with the Corrupt and Incompetent Establishment, the Braindead Media (which is mostly about the media’s habit of repeating right-wing lies ) or the Radical Right-Wing Agenda. As usual, all you’ve done is come here, to a popular liberal blog, and whine and complain because they aren’t posting stories about the things you, a conservative, want to see. That’s why people like me flag you when post O/T complaints. Coward.

  76. pete says:

Well said Wayne. But, given our trolls apparent allergic avoidance of the topic, or the truth, it’s not likely to make an impression. They’ll just continue throwing John Edwards’ name into every conversation cause he did “sumthin’ dirty”.

But what would we name the biography of McCain:

In 1979 – while still married to Carol – he met Cindy at a cocktail party in Hawaii. Over the next six months he pursued her, flying around the country to see her. Then he began to push to end his marriage.

Carol and her children were devastated. ‘It was a complete surprise,’ says Nancy Reynolds, a former Reagan aide.

Ruthless? Betrayal? I’d prefer the outcome of The First Wives Club.

  79. Shayne says:

And since the media dug up all the dirt on Edwards why did they let the McCain and Vickie Iseman scandal drop. Not only were they flying all over the country alone together so that his aides suspected they were “doing it” and were trying to get it to stop but she was a lobbyist getting unfair advantage.

    “They Live”

Nada, a down-on-his-luck construction worker, discovers a pair of special sunglasses. Wearing them, he is able to see the world as it really is: people being bombarded by media and government with messages like “Stay Asleep”, “No Imagination”, “Submit to Authority”. Even scarier is that he is able to see that some usually normal-looking people are in fact ugly aliens in charge of the massive campaign to keep humans subdued. With the help of a pair of sunglasses, that shows the world as it really is, not in colour, but a black and white parallel world that the sub-conscious has chosen to ignore. With subliminal messages as “OBEY”, “CONFORM”, “MARRY AND REPRODUCE”, “CONSUME”, “WATCH TELEVISION” and “SLEEP”. It is through this thought control that the aliens have this world tied up and neatly packaged for its own manipulative uses, to further themselves at the expense of the meek, mild and the lowly sufferers of a job less and hungry world.

Because John McCain is a Republicon and they are never held accountable for their actions. Maybe when the press gets through with destroying Edwards some enterprising reporter at the National Enquirer will do some real investigating into the Iseman affair. That would be so sweet if someone came up with evidence of another affair by John McCain. I don’t doubt it for a minute. He had no conscience when he was fooling around with Cindy while still married, why would he not do it again?

  126. Bilbo Hussein Baggins says:

I have a question for the trolls who are obsessed with John Edwards.

What do you think about a presidential candidate who once committed adultery while his crippled wife sat at home and then dumped the crippled wife for the new bimbo? Why should that get a pass and John Edwards gets ripped to shreds? And, please don’t tell me “that was in the past”. It doesn’t matter. Having an affair and then dumping a crippled wife says as much about John McCain’s character as does John Edwards affair.
