It could be as simple as drugging threatened bears and relocating them. As noted earlier, polar bears have huge ranges so the number threatened is small.Even by large operations.

And despite the mascot status of polar bears, intelligent people are aware that environmental protection isn’t for the benefit of plants and animals. It’s for the benefit of humanity.
