TPM notes that Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) told OneNewsNow that the U.S. doesn’t need environmental advocates such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) because Jesus saved Earth already:
[Pelosi] is committed to her global warming fanaticism to the point where she has said that she’s just trying to save the planet. … We all know that someone did that over 2,000 years ago, they saved the planet — we didn’t need Nancy Pelosi to do that.
And if Bird-brained Bachmann is wrong?
August 12th, 2008 at 3:41 pmBeware the Flying Spaghetti Monster and it’s inevitable return (have a fork and a napkin ready.)
August 12th, 2008 at 3:42 pmYes, well…apparently he didn’t save the planet from YOU, Ms. Bachmann. Why is Minnesota such a schizophrenic place? They can be really intelligent politically, but they also give us dumb bulbs like Bachman who is obviously wanting Jesus to give her his nasty…
August 12th, 2008 at 3:42 pmPraise Jebus
August 12th, 2008 at 3:43 pmGenius has limits
August 12th, 2008 at 3:43 pmStupidity has no bounds
Oh, my lord. Can these people be any more stupid?
August 12th, 2008 at 3:44 pmMichelle Bachmann is Daryll??
August 12th, 2008 at 3:45 pmbwawaawww. that lady is a nut.
August 12th, 2008 at 3:46 pmWhen I was a kid, many, many years ago, I remember seeing signs that said, “Jesus Saves.” Little did I know that Jesus has already saved the earth, according to this Republican woman Representative from Minnesota has told us not to worry, already. Funny, He hasn’t done much recently to save the earth from its human despoilers…
O/T, a Yahoo News headline says, “McCain says all Americans back Georgia in struggle.” Another lie from McWar. I don’t support imperial Georgia in its aggression and slaughter in South Ossetia. The Republic of Georgia, egged on by neo-cons, started this stupid aggression and now they are paying the price. Moral of the story: when you are a little Georgian bully, who lives next to a big bully Russian Bear, who doesn’t like you, don’t go out of your way to antagonize the Bear.
August 12th, 2008 at 3:47 pmNo, not a nut…just a right-wing conservative Christian ideologue bent on having everyone else buy into her jones about Jesus. Get a vibrator, Michele!
August 12th, 2008 at 3:47 pmGeeDubs (#3): I have the impression there’s a concentration of wingnuts to the north of the Twin Cities, which is, I believe, the area she represents.
August 12th, 2008 at 3:49 pmHallelujah, Amen, and Praise the Lord!!

August 12th, 2008 at 3:51 pmHallelujah, Amen, and Praise the Lord!!
-snark on-
August 12th, 2008 at 3:51 pmIsn’t that a rather materialistic point of view?
I thought Jesus saved people, not planets….
August 12th, 2008 at 3:52 pmGod created Bachmann in his own image as well — but that hasn’t stopped her from getting lots of plastic surgery and a new pair of boobs that would make Katherine Harris jealous.
What’s really, really, really sad, though is that Michele was hiding when God was giving out brains.
She has to be the biggest bimbo to ever have her name on a seat in the House of Representatives. I am embarrassed for her and the brain-dead constituents who elected her. I sure hope they never make that mistake again.
August 12th, 2008 at 3:52 pmJust another Rethug goon like the “I’m a hottie” Jean “The Lunatic Shit” Schmidt. They trot these goofballs out to deliver their insane talking points and grab media attention.
August 12th, 2008 at 3:52 pmOval12345678 aka James K. Sayre Says:
When I was a kid, many, many years ago, I remember seeing signs that said, “Jesus Saves.”
Growing up in Boston, that sign was “Jesus Saves . . . and Esposito scores on the rebound!”
On topic – The quote combined with the picture was more than enough to cause my monitor to get a Pepsi bath.
August 12th, 2008 at 3:53 pmPotters Gin Says:
What can you expect from a state that gave us Wellstone and Ventura? I’m sure they are glad that I escaped years ago.
They probably have a holiday to celebrate their escape, yes.
August 12th, 2008 at 3:53 pmHow Do these people get elected? I know that you can fool some of the people all of the time, but this is ridiculous!
August 12th, 2008 at 3:53 pmImpeach Pelosi, Cheney and Bush and Save the Constitution!
She is not too bright. She makes me feel sorry for the baby Jesus.
August 12th, 2008 at 3:53 pmTP… why do you have to post this RIGHT after I got a huge cup off coffee. I damn near choked though the laughter.
For shame.
August 12th, 2008 at 3:55 pm…and, on cue, Raynman is CORRECT!!!
August 12th, 2008 at 3:56 pmUh? What? How in the world do nut cases like this get into office/air time/print?
Jesus didn’t save jackshit, let alone the earth from major corporate and auto pollution.
Although charlatans have been profiting off of Jesus for 2,000 years.
Jesus, save us from your followers.
August 12th, 2008 at 3:56 pmoh christ…. I see a 200+ comment thread full of derailment and no real discussion thanks to the dingleberry behind #22.
(seriously dude. I HOPE they ban you by IP)
August 12th, 2008 at 3:57 pmDARYLL, REPENT, BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!!!!
August 12th, 2008 at 3:58 pmMs. Bachmann has, unwittingly no doubt, revealed the “secret plan” for the environment. “Let Jesus fix it”.
Spike the Kool-aid
August 12th, 2008 at 3:59 pmDrink it deep
God will fix things
While you sleep
Daryll Says: Coocoo, coocoo, coocoo…nut boy shows up.
So when is Phuckabee going to be President again there ye ol’ nut case?
August 12th, 2008 at 3:59 pmBut who is going to save us from morons like Bachmann?
How do people this stupid get elected? She doesn’t even have a prayer of understanding how wrong she is from a theological perspective. pun intended
August 12th, 2008 at 3:59 pmDaryll Says:
No need. Based on her comments, you should be thanking him for having elected officials within our government to spread the “Good News”. There’s a revival in the midst of our government, and it is coming soon.
Doesn’t seem likely it will be led by “president-elect” Huckabee, does it, Daryll?
August 12th, 2008 at 3:59 pmDaryll,
We missed you on the Huckleberry thread. Would have been entertaining, indeed!
But in your quote above, where does it say jesus saved the world from Climate Change? Did I miss something?
August 12th, 2008 at 3:59 pmOK, this is the funniest thread of the day — by far. But after I got done laughing my butt off, I was a bit alarmed to realize that SOMEBODY ACTUALLY ELECTED THIS WOMAN TO CONGRESS.
Is she running for re-election? Does she have any opposition?
August 12th, 2008 at 4:01 pmewwwww, yuck. Daryll, I don’t want to hear anymore about you being excited.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:02 pmI know God gives fascists Republicans free will…but why do they have to involve innocent liberals?
August 12th, 2008 at 4:03 pmTrollette’s Syndrome outbreak — cleanup on aisles 22, 31 and 38.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:03 pmbecause of his grace and mercy, you can breathe and blog, as well.
Well you’ve finally gone off the deepest of deep ends.
SAVING SOULS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LIVING OR DYING IDIOT-FCUK.
IT’S ABOUT EARNING ENOUGH MCJESUS POINTS TO GET INTO HEAVEN.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:03 pmBurned like toast, as usual…
Caption for that pic of Bachmann:
“My Repug/Born Again vibrator feels SOOO good, but my Botox and face lifts have destroyed my facial muscles so this is the best smile I can provide.”
August 12th, 2008 at 4:04 pm*hanging head in embarrassment*
Yup, this is the same woman who was 5 seconds from the Secret Service taking her to the floor as she tried to grope Bush at the SOTU address in ‘07.
This is the same woman who had her Pastor telling church goers that if they are really Christian, they have to vote for her.
Michele, why aren’t you in the House basement with the other NeoCon muchsrooms? You smell like one, & love eating Bushit.
The upside? She’s up for re-election in Nov.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:04 pmOh, & Tanqueray…yes, we are pleased you escaped. But those pesky statutes of limitations are still valid…
Besides we’ve all seen the movies (the only thing Repukes believe in) and all you have to do is repent at THE LAST SECOND, while on your dying bed and ‘VOILA’.
LET THE SINNING CONTINUE. PRAISE McJESUS!!!!
August 12th, 2008 at 4:05 pmSick in the brain Daryll says: Global warming is not man-made. It was pre-destined by God to use as a sign of the end times.
Your stupidity is endless, your ignorance knows no bounds, your god never existed, you are wasting your time praying.
One mans deeds of good are greater than 100 million praying.
Or this one…
Shit in one hand and pray in the other and see which gets filled first.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:07 pmGood people of Minnesota, I implore you, save us from this moron.
Daryll, what makes you so arrogant as to think you can recognize the advent of the “End Days”? It’s been thought to have been arriving numerous times and yet it hasn’t. What exactly makes you qualified or worthy to divine such truths from the world around you? Your hubris is astounding.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:07 pmDaryll Says:
Trust me, he will save his “true” children in the coming years. There is no need for us to go green to prevent global warming. Global warming is not man-made. It was pre-destined by God to use as a sign of the end times. Therefore, Rep. Bachman is right.
Could you point that part out in the Bible, Daryll?
August 12th, 2008 at 4:08 pmmisshusseinmolly Says:

August 12th, 2008 at 4:01 pm
Ms Bachmann, Crazy Shelly to her constituents, stole the nomination in a “stealth campaign” where she and her associates (largely church members) flooded the nominating convention. The gentleman she replaced didn’t even know she was a viable candidate.
Then she ran against a very weak candidate in the general while gaining national support.
Yes. She does have opposition in her own party as well as a few Dems. I’m pretty sure the good people of the 6th district know what they bought and are eager to fix the situation.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:08 pmWow… it’s a statistical dead heat here for Big Stupid of the Day – Bachmann and Darryl will just hafta share the honor!!!
August 12th, 2008 at 4:09 pmDaryll
Satan will not be taking over our Government in January. I don’t like Sen. McCain as President, but I will take him over Hussein any day. Hussein has no experience and is a socialist, who wants to eliminate jobs by over-taxing large corporations.
Daryll, Daryll, Daryll…where in the Bible does Jesus frown on socialism and support corporations?
August 12th, 2008 at 4:09 pmDaryll says:
Trust me, he will save his “true” children in the coming years. There is no need for us to go green to prevent global warming. Global warming is not man-made. It was pre-destined by God to use as a sign of the end times. Therefore, Rep. Bachman is right.
Woo Hoo,
Thanks Daryll, we were waiting for you to bring up the Rapture. That can explain everything BushCo has done (or not done) over the past 7 1/2 years.
I will sleep so much better knowing that you people have fcuked up the planet so that you can have your Rapture.
Thanks a lot, scumbags!
August 12th, 2008 at 4:09 pmGee Tanqued isn’t Wellstone the honorable gentleman you neocons had murdered? And now denigrate the victim, nice.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:10 pmDaryll the idiot says: ….is a socialist, who wants to eliminate jobs by over-taxing large corporations.
According to the Government Accountability Office (GAO), about two-thirds of foreign-controlled domestic corporations and U.S.-controlled corporations reported no federal tax liability from 1998 through 2005. About a quarter to half of corporations with over $250 million in assets or $50 million in gross receipts reported no liability.
Republican corporate values = tax cheats.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:10 pmDaryll: You just do not understand that God is testing you to see whether you really are deserving. To piss on his creation through pollution, failing to care for those without wealth and protect our environment. You and those like you are an abomination to God. You are everything that represents the evil of Satan. Be damned.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:10 pmNettles Says:
America has tired of Pelosi’s eco fear-mongering.
Provide examples, expand on this powerful statement. Please?
August 12th, 2008 at 4:10 pmClaiming that we don’t need to concern ourselves with global warming or any other environmental issues because Jesus already saved the planet is about as responsible as claiming that we don’t need to concern ourselves with crime or law enforcement because God takes care of sinners.
(Oh wait — I think Mukasey has already weighed in on that. Not so much about God, but claiming that “negative publicity” will take care of everything. Ah, but that’s another thread.)
First — Jesus didn’t come to earth to save the planet. He came to save people. Does this supposedly Christian woman ever actually READ her Bible?
Second — He didn’t take away free will from people, continuing to allow them to make intelligent or idiotic decisions. This is why we continue to have wars, for example.
Third — God made Adam his steward of the earth, and we have inherited that responsibility. Jesus never did or said anything that let us off the hook on that one, so we STILL have that responsibility.

I think this was more a comment on how politically schizo MN seems to be. On one hand, Jesse ‘The Mind’ Ventura and on the other hand Paul Wellstone.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:12 pmCorporate Jesus Daryll is a true blasphemer.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:13 pmCrazy people are so interesting…
August 12th, 2008 at 4:13 pmSeparation of Church & State isn’t just for Democrats, you know.
Let’s get Jesus in Congress then. We’ll settle this at once.
Michele, Daryll, can you invite him next time he ‘talks’ to you?
Michele, maybe you could grope Jesus like you did Bush…just don’t grope Daryll, he’s only in to Brazilian boys.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:13 pmDaryll,
Jesus had no experience and he was a communist.
He didn’t save us over 2,000 years ago—he saved us about 33AD. He didn’t say go ahead and destroy all of god’s creation with your pollution because you are saved anyway.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:14 pmFACT: There are NO genius bible thumpers. Daryll, do you mind if we show everybody the results of your IQ test as evidence?
August 12th, 2008 at 4:14 pmLordy! Somebody send that girl back to Sunday School. She’s got her saving all wrong. Wasn’t the planet that got saved, it was people. Jesus died for our sins, not for our lack of recycling.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:14 pmDaryll the Super Idiot says: It’s people like you that threaten our successful government.
Haaawhaaaawhaaa…you call the Criminal Bush Administration successful? Bwaaaahahahahah…you are such a comedian, a sick in the head one, but a true comedian.
Your god still doesn’t exist…but who is that little voice in your head?
August 12th, 2008 at 4:16 pmIt is unsettling how religious fear-mongering is still a go-to tactic by oppressors everywhere.
Especially since this usually leads to rhetoric that is in direct contradiction to the core values of most religions.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:16 pmDaryll Says:

What about the toxic chemicals in the air, water, and soil that have been the result of mankind’s greed, overindulgence, corruption, waste, and gluttony?
If we live the way we are supposed to, the environment would not be polluted. Man is the only creature on the planet who is capable of disrupting the balance and harmony of nature.
Global warming is a symptom of the sicknesses of the human soul. The very sicknesses that the Bible says are sins, and the ones you so ironically defend.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:16 pmDaryll Says:

August 12th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
_______
I can only imagine how pissed God is going to be when you try to explain this to Him — how you and your ilk have had twenty years of warning signs about the damage humans have been doing to His creation, and done nothing but stick your fingers in your ears and cover your eyes and DENY IT.
Climate change is real, and it is man-made, and it is the duty of every true Christian (Daryll and Rep. Bachmann need not apply) to repair the damage we have caused.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:17 pmIf Jesus truly wanted to save us, He’d do something about these freaking nutcases spouting off stupid crap in His name; maybe turn ‘em into pillars of salt or something.
If He did that, I would thank Him *very* sincerely.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:17 pmDaryll,
Clinton created three times as many jobs as W.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:18 pmDaryll thinks we have a “robust economy”!! He must feel his Defense Contracting job sill survive past next January!
Good Luck with that one, D!
August 12th, 2008 at 4:18 pmDaryll: You believe in a false God. It is not the God of the Bible. The Bible does not foretell of an end time. It is instead the cobbling together of disparate parts of the Bible by Satan led non-believers seeking to seduce those with very, very weak minds and faith. You are an enemy to all Christians. Your soul will rot in Hell.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:19 pmDaryll
Jesus loves equality amongst the people. It is not fair to over-tax corporations because more Americans will lose jobs. In order for us to continue to have a robust economy, people must have jobs. Save the Jobs!
Corporations are not people Daryll. Unfortunately, both yourself and the Supreme Court have had this little fact confused for some time now.
Also, please tell me how – with 2/3 of corporations avoiding to pay taxes – that the tax level on a massive corporation relates at all to this thread? Also, please try to refute that if we invested in alternate energy this would inevitably lead to the expansion of this sector of industry AND create jobs.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:19 pmI’m completely ignoring the Parodyll today, because
1) He has not given me any faux brown sugar.
2) His parody material sometimes goes stale. Today is definitely not his “fresh” day.
I would like to point out what Misshusseinmolly stated.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:19 pmJesus saved (and saves) souls. Not earth.
Simple enough.
God teaches us to take care of the planet. In fact, it’s required. It’s not a filthy dumping ground to do as we please. That is very unGod-like.
It’s to be taken care of, generation to generation, for the health and prosperity of future generations.
But, I guess if you live for the (c)rapture, you really don’t give a damn!
McCain is the anti-Christ because he wants to occupy Babylon for a century.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:21 pmJesus Hussein Christ, sticky Bible Daryll has showed up, fresh from shaking the Devil.
The world could use a very precise and targeted terminal disease that only attacks the fundamentalist wack jobs like Bachmann and Daryll. If we could rid ourselves of all these fcking religious freaks, the world would breathe a sigh of relief and we could go about solving real issues.
I would gladly donate to research to find the mutated gene that causes a normal human fetus to turn into these religious nuts. If we could isolate that gene, we could test for it in embryo and abort the sick bastards before they do harm.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:22 pmBachmann and Daryll are symptoms of a disease that needs treatment. I don’t mean religion. The disease is hubris.
They are so gobsmacked by Faith that they feel justified in their own sins. They are dangerous because they actually Believe they are right. And if every person on Earth tells them they’re wrong? They just ratchet up the hubris and condemn another hard fact to oblivion. Rational people aren’t even real to them.
But the really funny thing is, if Jesus returned today and started praying about love, peace, forgiveness and tolerance? Daryll and Shelly would lead the mob that had the poor guy nailed to a fresh cross by sundown. Because they are the most unchristian people on Earth.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:23 pmAs the President told Bob Costas, there is nothing wrong with our government. It’s just your liberal periphial vision that is disabling you from seeing success within every aspect of our government.
Alright, I’m done with Daryll. I can’t believe he’s actually being serious.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:24 pmTo take her argument at face value, then why did we get involved in Iraq, VietNam, Korea, WWII, WWI etc all the way back to the 1st century CE? Why do we need social programs to care for the poor, sick, etc ?
Its amazing how much bad theology can be traced back to not understanding Plato’s constructs of form / substance and potentiality. Or in this case, are some people just destined to be way off the scale in the 99.99999% th percentile ?
August 12th, 2008 at 4:24 pmOh, and as she is from Minnesotta, could it be that she is a satirical construct from the Prarie Home Companion ?
August 12th, 2008 at 4:25 pmDING DING DING!!!!!!! We have a WINNER!!!
Here is Daryll’s winning entry:
August 12th, 2008 at 4:25 pm

Not to worry, daryll. I talked to Michele this afternoon and she told me that Jesus saved the Jobs, too. So now you are free to tax the sh!t out of corporations.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:26 pmDaryll:
August 12th, 2008 at 4:27 pmyou are truly zany. I appreciate the Andy Kaufmann aspect of your work..
Daryll Says:

Very well said.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:28 pmI don’t care what you religion one believes (or doesn’t). I could care less what political affiliation one holds.
I just look at my children, and their friends, and their friend’s friends, and I pray to God we haven’t fcked them out of peace, prosperity, and security on this planet.
Daryll: How dare you, as a child of Satan, seek to mislead these people after having received Satan in your life.
You seek to have Christians deny their duty and responsibility to care for one another in disobedience to HIS will. You seek to mislead others from showing stewardship to HIS creation in violation of HIS command.
You are evil filth by telling people to do nothing to obey HIS commands or the teachings of his only begotten son.
You deserve to be consumed in the fires of Hell and to suffer for eternity when you attempt to use the Bible to justify a secular and Republican tax position.
You will not answer my posts because you cannot and you know that God will exact his punishment against you for your blasphemy.
I will call you the whore of Satan every time you post since that is HIS will.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:28 pmDaryll Says:
One question, are you from California?
No, I have never set foot in California. And I currently live in the Bible Belt. So what’s your point?
August 12th, 2008 at 4:29 pmdbadass,
I really needed my mid-day belly laughs and good ol’ Daryll provided, right on schedule.
But the thread on Bachmann and that picture of her were also quite entertaining.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:29 pmDaryll Says:
“She was already pre-destined by Jesus for this position to spread his word.”
Yeah and I suppose she was also pre-destined to get a new set of ta-tas.
Jebus likes bimbos.
Jebus likes cleavage!
Daryll, here’s a little joke you can use to warm-up the crowd at the FFV Forum:
August 12th, 2008 at 4:30 pmWhat were Jebus’ last words before dying on the cross?
“Peter, I can see your house from here!”
Daryll,
You can obviously spin anything into anything. Yeah, go ahead and blame Clinton for creating three times as many jobs as W.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:30 pm“what you religion one believes (or doesn’t) should have omitted
August 12th, 2008 at 4:31 pm“you” to just read “what one believes”.
Dang work, anyways, interfering with my bloggin’.
Jesus saves. . . . .
Republicans spend.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:31 pmJesus loves you. . . .
Republicans just want to screw you.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:32 pmOkay, I lied.
I did peruse over Parodyll’s request for scarybrownhusseinchick’s address.
ummm, that’s called stalking!!!!!
Mucking foron!
August 12th, 2008 at 4:33 pmThis is the reason most of the right does not want to believe in Global Warming, it seriously f**ks with their plans for immortality. Concede that the human can extinct ourselves, overcome the cognitive dissonance and conservatives would be wetting themselves in fear.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:33 pmWho!? is the fanatic??!?
Ms Bachmann should ask the Jesus to revive those people who drowned when her Republican bridge fell in the river.
Let’s see it Ms Bachmann – open your eyes real, real wide, and pray real, real hard for us, and produce those victims at a picnic tomorrow.
same Lying Republican Scum, different day…
August 12th, 2008 at 4:34 pmI haven’t read all the comments yet so this may already be mentioned but would someone tell that crazy-looking Bachmann woman to read a bible—specifically, this verse?
August 12th, 2008 at 4:34 pm
Daryll the whore of Satan
Hehe, I like that, it truly describes him.
August 12th, 2008 at 4:35 pmIt’s amazing to me how cheaply people sell their souls. Imagine a salesman saying to you, “I’ve got this amazing product, you’ll love it, it’s the best thing ever to be produced. You just pay me 10% of your income for the rest of your life, and you’ll receive the product immediately upon your death. I promise you’ll be completely satisfied.”
Would you buy it?
That’s what Bachmann’s done. She’s betting the livability of the planet on her faith, and if she’s wrong, we’ll all have a chance to complain immediately after our death.
August 12th, 2008 at 8:28 pmI bet Michele also believes Jesus created the planet 2,000 years ago too. Dumbass.
No wonder the republics in our nation are so far behind the times and living in la-la land, just look at Michele.
August 12th, 2008 at 8:41 pmKay! Bachmann is a f**king joke to many here in Minnesota! But I’d nail the goofy b**ch. :)
August 12th, 2008 at 8:54 pmMy favorite from life in the South…
Jesus Saves…At the Pic-N-Pay.
And daryll, you sad lying lust little twerp, I have to go all the way back to your comment #22: you have yet again misattributed things you have READ INTO a book that has been co-opted, translated, reinterpreted, RE-translated, tweaked, buffed, abused and whose original intent was to strike fear and odedience into the hearts of the unwashed masses by the existing conservative right of each era…(catch my breath)…
Your words: He could have walked away and said, I give up on mankind.
Now, as I recall Luke 22 v42, it goes something along the lines of “Yet not my will, but Thine, be done.”
Doesn’t sound like he had much of a choice in the matter, does it?
About as much choice as Bachmann has of being a mindless bimbo-mouthpiece (ew, not liking that image) for the GOP (Great Oafish Poops).
August 12th, 2008 at 9:04 pmMichele Bachman, poster child for anencephalia.
I can only hope that the state I grew up in sees fit, in Nov., 2008, to do the decent thing, and send her to somewhere she can get the care she truly deserves….
Cheers,
August 12th, 2008 at 9:12 pmIn addition, new hydrocarbon fields are increasingly found in deep-water regions that are arduous to exploit. The paucity of the specialized equipment needed to extract oil from such new reserves has created a bottleneck in future offshore production. The world’s current fleet of specialized drill ships is booked until 2013. The price of building such a vessel has taken a five-fold jump to $500 million in the last year. The cost of crucial materials — such as steel for rigs and pipelines — has risen sharply. So, too, have salaries for skilled manpower in the industry. Little wonder then that while, in 2002, it cost $150,000 a day to hire a deep-water rig, it now costs four times as much.
Why does the oil industry new leases today?
August 12th, 2008 at 9:15 pmSorry. “Why does the oil industry NEED new leases today”?

I haven’t read all the comments yet so this may already be mentioned but would someone tell that crazy-looking Bachmann woman to read a bible—specifically, this verse?
Revelation 11:18
The nations were angry; and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your saints and those who reverence your name, both small and great— and for destroying those who destroy the earth.”
“““““““““““““““““““““““““““
You would be surprised how many of these self proclaimed reichwing christians don’t read the bible. Many rely on what they hear from their pastors in church and on TV or from a friend. Those that do read the bible pick and choose pieces of scripture and twist it to fit their hateful or political agenda. Here’s a few more verses the reich must not have ever read before.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Matthew 5:9
Those who live by the sword, die by the sword. Matthew: 26:52
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Genesis 1:26
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:28
Now from those four examples, those who strive for peace not war are children of God. Those that love war will die from war. We were given this planet to be good stewards of it and to take care of it and not allow corporations, etc to pollute it and destroy it.
August 12th, 2008 at 9:23 pmJesus loves you. . . . Republicans just want to screw you.
daryll would say that just means you were pre-destined to either bend over or spread your legs.
August 12th, 2008 at 9:24 pmI think McCain now knows who his VP pick is.
She has everything; appeal to the Religious Right, appeal to women, appeal to Conservatives, appeal to lunatics.
Just think what kind of Administration these two (McCain and Bachmann) would unleash on this country.
August 12th, 2008 at 9:54 pmThey’d make a great pair.
McNumbNuts likes bimbos.
And Shelley likes dildos.
A match made in heaven. They complete each other!
August 12th, 2008 at 10:05 pmI think this fluff-brain’s pearls are too tight….
…or not tight enough…
August 12th, 2008 at 10:16 pmI would love to travel through the district who sends this moron back every 2 years to further embarrass herself, her district, her state, the Congress, and America itself.
August 12th, 2008 at 10:39 pmHey, who is that white woman anyway?

I had pointed this out in a nuked post but, as a proud Minnowsnowtan, here goes again.
I do not live in the 6th district so I take no responsibility for crazy Shelly. She is, however, an embarrassment to the human race.
She was nominated by stacking the convention with religious nuts and she had national support against a weak candidate. I have a gut feeling that the good people of the 6th District will correct the error. Though I admit I do get nervous living just down the road from a District that would elect such a lunatic.
August 12th, 2008 at 11:57 pmYa know at some point all the made up and made over bible stuff is just that..One poor sap take’s it all litrely to the extreme, just like all the other extremest’s of many faith’s..This kind of madness has started war’s and burned people at the stake…Sadly, thousand’s of enviromentelest’s, herbalist’s and lover’s of pet’s died just for having a cat and using herb’s for health..Just having a broom in one’s kitchen was enough to be burned or drownd….A mean spirited neighbor making up a story and running to a magistrate was all it took or just having a mole any where on one’s body doomed the person to death…..
I figured maybe jesus was a peace maker like buddah and many other teacher’s..Kind of think he must of been a hippie as well and quite possibley a socalist…Just something to ponder…Do know the bible was written by men who had formed certain churche’s to take control of the masses through fear…Also know when they were doing this and all the killing’s of pagan’s they were trying to distroy a society that was matriacal and peaceful…
To bad the world can’t return to that and protect our enviroment…..P.B & J

Michele Bachmann (R-MN) = One heck of a PERVERTED CHRISTIAN
… Eh Daryll?
Did Jesus die on the cross to save our souls, or to save the planet? Our eternal life or our material life? Michele Bachmann (R-MN) seems to think Christ died to support the material world, as temporary as it is…

So does Ms. Bachmann.

I didn’t know Christ was Republican…
I thought no others came before His Father. You know, the First Commandment. Yet, deference is being paid to political powers over God… as exemplified by your bias toward Republican Theocracy vs. Christ’s Theology.
Why do you hate Christ so that you prefer to place political allegiance and bastardization of Christianity above His universal teachings? Was he only preaching to Republicans on that hill?

August 13th, 2008 at 1:39 amWasn’t bachmann a local weather girl?

Daryll,
HOW MUCH DID CHRIST CHARGE FOR HIS SERVICES?
WHO DID HE THROW OUT OF HIS FATHER’S TEMPLE… AND WHY?
Now, parse this with your Corporate fanaticism and that perverted doctrine of a Theocratic doctrine?
Didn’t God instruct his children to be caretakers of this earth? How is this tacit permission to spit in God’s face and tell him NO, we’ll destroy it at our pleasure? Aren’t we, as Christians, bound to obey God’s commandments? How are you preserving God’s creation when you ignore and defend it’s destruction?
What does this mean, “There are none so blind as those who can not see,”? What exactly are you seeing here, Daryll? Because what I’m seeing is the potential of mankind to destroy God’s creation…

When I see a straight blond hair/blue eyes replicas of Jesus, I think what do we have here.
Ignorance or brainwashed?
August 13th, 2008 at 1:51 amShe probably ran out of arguments …
August 13th, 2008 at 4:29 amI live north of the twin cities and I resent people from other states calling us collectively stupid. Bachmann represent a very religious district. Is everyone from Texas a bumbling idiot and warmonger like George Bush? I don’t think so. You people calling us stupid in Minnesota seem to have forgotten Paul Wellstone. He was the best of the best.
August 13th, 2008 at 10:58 amIt’s embarrassing to be a Minnesotan, and will be until the people in her district vote this wackjob out of office. The Republican Party is perfect for her… not a single deep or independent thought is produced by this brunette Barbie doll.
August 13th, 2008 at 11:14 amThis reminds me of a favorite joke:
A man was sitting in his house and heard news of a flood. He said to his wife “Not to worry, God will save us.”
The flood waters rose, and he and his wife climbed up to the second story and looked out a window. A man in a boat came by and said “the waters are rising. Let me take you to safety.” The man said, “Not to worry. God will save us.”
The waters continued to rose, and the man and his wife climbed to the roof. A helicopter came over and the crew yelled out “Let us drop a ladder to help you.” The man said “Not to worry, God will save us.”
The waters continued to rise and so the couple died.
When they got to St. Peter, they asked “We believed in you. We thouught you would save us. Where were you when we were in need?”
St. Peter replied “I sent you a radio announcement, a boat, and a helicopter. What were you waiting for?”
I am not saying that Pelosi was sent as His messenger, but sometimes we do need to look for His signs and learn from them.
August 13th, 2008 at 2:26 pmi have been saying for years that these people need medication…
August 24th, 2008 at 6:26 pmand treatment centers!
Tawdry: “I live north of the twin cities and I resent people from other states calling us collectively stupid.”
Michelle Bachman is your representative. SHE SPEAKS FOR YOU. A Congressional Representative is supposed to be reflective of your area. If you don’t like people to judge you by your representative, get the hell to work!
August 28th, 2008 at 5:07 pmDear God, protect me from your RightWingNutJob followers…Amen.
