Does this strike you as a circuitous route? Iraq is now spending its own money to purchase weaponry.
We spend billions of tax dollars there (and still doing so) and they will now spend their oil money to buy weapons – from whom? American corporations.
Sounds too much like taxpayer dollars being laundered through Iraq to get back to American CEOs.
I am too cynical.

What a card that Rice is. Only when the shoe is on the other foot does it seem that military power is not the answer to foreign policy differences.

Where was she when it came to Iraq. Oh, yes, talking about it being to late when a mushroom cloud appears over our major cities. Or McCain with his “bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran”.

So, tell me again Ms. Rice, why is diplomacy the only proper response for Russia when we bomb routinely as a first resort? Show me the logic to that.

I believe it is a testament to the corporate censored news media that Rice can feel confident enough to say something to incredibly, blatantly, obviously hypocritical and wrong.

She knows full well that no one in the American new media will ever call her on it.

The US media is NOT free, it is heavily censored and controlled by the conservatives that own the parent companies. This is self-evident.

Yeah, and this statement is coming from not only an unqualified Secretary of State that is too busy to go shoe shooping rather than dealing with important issues [like Katrina for instance] but this is a woman that never served in the military. And I guess, once again, the “military power” used to invade Afghanistan and Iraq on false pretenses for the past 5 years was all just a dream, right Condi?
