This guy has gone beyond just being an enemy of women in the Senate. Apparently he has proved that the stereotyped backward guy who only believes that women are good for “cooking, cleaning, and f**king” really exists (please notice that an interest in technology is not on that list, and is therefore annoying). Additionally, he believes it’s perfectly all right to call his wife insulting and demeaning names in front of others, cheat on his wife, and divorce his wife when she’s no longer suitable to be arm candy.

He strenuously opposed the execution of the Iraq war; he slammed the president’s response to Katrina; he fought the “agents of intolerance” of the religious right; he crusaded against the G.O.P. House leader Tom DeLay, the criminal lobbyist Jack Abramoff and their coterie of influence-peddlers.

With the exception of McCain’s imprisonment in Vietnam, every aspect of this profile in courage is inaccurate or defunct.
