Geez, TP, didn’t you get the memo from the spokespeople of the McCain campaign. They’re on the record saying that John McCain does not speak for his own campaign. So, why should we believe or trust anything he says if he doesn’t know what he’s saying? Or, rather if he doesn’t speak for his own campaign?

And that my friend is why the polls should NEVER be believed. Have you ever been polled? Not I! The poll companies are not, repeat not, charitable organizations. They do not make donations; They sell a product. How many polls would they sell if they insisted that Obama was ahead by 30%? The Dems would have no need to do business with them as so the Repukes. Hence, the polls never differ by much and always add to the “Suspense” by changing from poll to poll. I do not recall the sample size required for statistical accuracy with a population as great as our voter base but I am sure it is well over a few hundred selected pollees. The fact that the people polls are selected, whether it be by the fact they have a telephone, what party the are registered in, or what is the color of their eyes, immediately skews the polls. The polls must be random and the criteria fixed and measurable. Any poll that depends upon an individual TRUTHFULLY answering a question is only good for that exact time the question was asked and answered. All the questions must be asked at the same time by the same person in exactly the same tone of voice—impossible.

We need to stop thinking this is a big deal. This was a well planted and orchestrated interview by Fox. McCain campaign was throwing herring out there to chase until it’s revealed that it amounts to a drop in the drum. Overall that tax over 11 years is just $300 mil.

The bill “included several oil and gas tax incentives, providing about $2.6 billion of tax cuts for the oil and gas industry,” it also “provided for $2.9 billion of tax increases on the oil and gas industry, for a net tax increase on the industry of nearly $300 million over 11 years”:

A hit of $300 mil. could be absorbed in one day. So, big repeal Sen. McCain.
