To classify this as a flip flop would be wrong.

I think it just a good, old-fashioned lie.

Geez, TP, didn't you get the memo from the spokespeople of the McCain campaign. They're on the record saying that John McCain does not speak for his own campaign. So, why should we believe or trust anything he says if he doesn't know what he's saying? Or, rather if he doesn't speak for his own campaign?

Flippy seems determined to piss off all the various subgroups of the 20% crowd. At this rate it's quite possible that the GOP base will fracture. And the psychochristians might stay home, on election day, to pray for the Rapture.

Bozo The Neoclown Says: "...polls aren’t important when they reveal something they don’t want to see (for example bush’s laughable approval rating) yet, would bet their mother’s lives on polls when it tells them something they want to believe."

And that my friend is why the polls should NEVER be believed. Have you ever been polled? Not I! The poll companies are not, repeat not, charitable organizations. They do not make donations; They sell a product. How many polls would they sell if they insisted that Obama was ahead by 30%? The Dems would have no need to do business with them as so the Repukes. Hence, the polls never differ by much and always add to the "Suspense" by changing from poll to poll. I do not recall the sample size required for statistical accuracy with a population as great as our voter base but I am sure it is well over a few hundred selected pollees. The fact that the people polls are selected, whether it be by the fact they have a telephone, what party the are registered in, or what is the color of their eyes, immediately skews the polls. The polls must be random and the criteria fixed and measurable. Any poll that depends upon an individual TRUTHFULLY answering a question is only good for that exact time the question was asked and answered. All the questions must be asked at the same time by the same person in exactly the same tone of voice---impossible.

We need to stop thinking this is a big deal. This was a well planted and orchestrated interview by Fox. McCain campaign was throwing herring out there to chase until it's revealed that it amounts to a drop in the drum. Overall that tax over 11 years is just $300 mil.

I predict that as soon as the right-wing brays about McCain flip-flopping on taxes, we will hear a statement that says Taylor Griffin doesn't speak for the McCain campaign.

Which means that if McCain doesn't speak for the McCain campaign, and the McCain spokespeople don't speak for the McCain campaign, who's left?

The bill "included several oil and gas tax incentives, providing about $2.6 billion of tax cuts for the oil and gas industry," it also "provided for $2.9 billion of tax increases on the oil and gas industry, for a net tax increase on the industry of nearly $300 million over 11 years":

A hit of $300 mil. could be absorbed in one day. So, big repeal Sen. McCain.

McCain can obviously express completely opposite opinions on any issue, lie and talk utter rubbish ad infinitum without fear of challenge by the MSM because they just can't get enough of his donuts and char-grilled hamburgers.

Rationality, democracy and the fate the nation are beging traded for nothing more than a few McCain "Happy Meals".

FLIP, FLOP! FLIP, FLOP!! FLIP, FLOP!!!

I guess all those folks who brandished sandals-on-a-stick at the 2004 GOP convention will be able to pull those things out of the closet again. Oh, and I hope that they wear their "Purple Heart Band-Aids" again...

GRIFFIN: Yes. The tax breaks in the 2005 energy bill, Senator McCain believes they should be repealed, yes.

Griffin went on to say, "However, believing something and actually doing something about it are two different things."
