Climate Progress’ Joe Romm wonders how big is the carbon footprint of John McCain’s numerous houses. “I’d estimate it’s about 150 tons of carbon dioxide, some 10 times that of the average American,” writes Romm, a climate researcher who has a Ph.D. in physics. The right wing is often quick to criticize Al Gore for his household energy consumption, despite the fact that Gore has taken numerous steps to reduce his carbon footprint. A. Siegel asks, “Should we wait with bated breath for someone in the McCain campaign’s media entourage to ask John the question as to whether he (actually, Cindy … since she pays the bills) is purchasing 100 percent renewable power?”
“Should we wait with bated breath for someone in the McCain campaign’s media entourage to ask John the question as to whether he (actually, Cindy … since she pays the bills) is purchasing 100 percent renewable power?”
The answer will be “no”. McNumbNuts and his trophy bimbo are oblivious to such mundane and trivial things.
August 22nd, 2008 at 12:03 pmI can guarantee that some of the energy McCain uses is renewable. All the gas he spouts has to come from someplace other than a gas well, most of it from his various orifices.

So will those hard nosed journalist at Faux News dare to be different and ask the old man, what is his carbon footprint… or are they just going to protect him and rip into Gore who as #4 pointed out has the most green house in Tenn. and his 10 year plan will work.

August 22nd, 2008 at 12:20 pmYes, it is time to rub McCain’s face in it. McCain was nothing more than a pandering treasonous coward. McCain who broke after only four days in enemy hands and went on to make a propaganda film for our enemies. McCain who made more than 30 propagand tapes for the North Vietnamese. McCain who won the nick name of “songbird McCain” from his fellow POW’s.
McCain has shown exactly what he is when he dumped his disabled wife to rut in the dirt with Cindy Whore, a pampered, rich drug adict. Yes, McCain takes advantage of his whore wife’s money to make his career.
Come on good_golly, justify your worship for a coward, a traitor and a whore lover.
August 22nd, 2008 at 12:22 pmI think the problem Rev. Al was his largly hypocritical lifestyle. August 22nd, 2008 at 12:22 pmGiving up the zinc mine or one of his homes is not asking much, given that he wants the rest of us to radically change our lives. McCain has not exploited the American public with propaganda.

Heard Any Good “John McCain’s Got a Lot of Houses” Jokes?
RJ Eskow
Me neither. So I made up a few. Try some of your own — and yes, I know he may have more than seven houses. Some say it’s as many as twelve. He doesn’t know. But don’t you think seven’s a funnier number? So here we go (with apologies to the memory of Joey Adams.)
Boy, does that John McCain have a lot of houses. Lemme tell ya … If they were all in one place he’d be Cleveland.
What? John McCain doesn’t know how many houses he owns? Can’t he ask Joe Lieberman?
Know what else? John McCain doesn’t know if any of his houses share a border with Pakistan.
Now his campaign is saying Cindy does all the house-buying so he can’t be expected to know. What a sexist! He makes his wife do all the shopping!
John McCain’s dog is so fat that when it sits around the house, it sits around … (Oh, wait, he has seven houses so this joke doesn’t work. He’d have to have a whole pack of dogs. I’ll get back to you on the dog joke.)
Don’t blame McCain. He couldn’t resist that “buy six mansions, get one free” sale at Countrywide.
Hey, didja hear? John McCain has so many houses they’re giving him his own monopoly board!
Seven houses? That’s one for every day of the week! What a coincidence! I’ve got a ‘Friday’ house, too. That’s because Friday’s payday … and it takes my whole check just to keep it.
John McCain’s getting an unfair rap for buying all those houses. Come on, now! He needed SOMEPLACE to put all those swimming pools!
Hey, remember that horrible “joke” about putting Cindy in the topless beauty contest? I hear he was really in the “dog houses” after that. (Sorry … still can’t nail the dog joke.)
The McCains have a lovely needlepoint their realtor sent them. It says “Home Sweet Home Sweet Home Sweet Home Sweet Home Sweet Home Sweet Home.”
As John McCain likes to say, there are no places like home.
Hey, I know it SOUNDS bad. But they needed someplace to put all those lobbyists!
They don’t count the motor home because it’s only got four bathrooms and there’s nowhere for the gardeners to sleep.
I hear that the McCains are doing a vacation house-swap with the Romneys. Sure, it’ll take seven trips, but then they won’t be very busy next year anyway.
Knock knock knock knock knock knock knock. Who’s there? John McCain’s mansions.
If a man’s home is his castle, then John McCain’s got the whole chess set!
Seven houses? That barely fits the twenty thousand bikers he promised could “crash” at his “pads” if they cheered for him.
Dog joke: John McCain thinks every home should have a dog. So he bought the Iditarod dogsled team.
- and my final boy-does-that-John McCain-have-a-lot-of-houses joke:
Hey, John McCain can’t remember how many houses he has! It’s not his fault, though. He had the number written down but he left it in his other plane.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

August 22nd, 2008 at 12:37 pmHere’s an example of the real concern McCain has about the environment and climate change. No doubt, he doesn’t even know what the hell a “carbon footprint” is.
McCain, who huddled with advisors at his desert compound in Sedona, Ariz., said nothing in public. A nine-car motorcade took him to a nearby Starbucks early in the morning, where he ordered a large cappuccino. McCain otherwise avoided reporters.

Environmentalist Gore allowed zinc mine
By Bill Theobald, Gannett News Service
CARTHAGE, Tenn. — Al Gore has profited from zinc mining that has released millions of pounds of potentially toxic substances near his farmstead, but there is NO EVIDENCE the mine has caused serious damage to the environment in the area or threatened the health of his neighbors.

August 22nd, 2008 at 12:39 pm
______
No, he was making the changes to his house long before the “valid” criticism. In fact, one of the reasons for the very high electric bills at the time this story broke last year was because the house was being renovated at the time and the construction crews were using more power than the house would normally consume.
So it’s not hypocrisy at all. It’s leading by example.
