Fox News reporter Griff Jenkins tasked with ‘causing trouble’ at Democratic convention.

Yesterday, Fox News reporter Griff Jenkins waded into the Re-create ‘68 protest outside the Democratic National Convention in Denver, where he was greeted with expletives as he antagonized the crowd by asking “what’s your actual message” and “do you not believe in freedom?” On Fox and Friends today, host Brian Kilmeade acknowledged that Jenkins was intentionally instigating the crowd. At the end of the segment, Kilmeade signed off by saying that Fox was “going to continue to send” Jenkins “out to cause trouble.” “I hope so,” responded Jenkins. Watch it:

Well, at least we know that the FoxSnooze crew "believes in freedom" . . . they all believe they are free to make a**es of themselves every day.

FOX Noise has been reduced to such a small, unthinking audience who needs boogeymen to hate that really, this story is pathetic and despeate more than anything else.

And we are surprised that Faux would be stirring up this and then being proud of it? Come on, that is what BushCO and the NeoCons are paying them to do!

But imagine the roar if, say, BBC or PBS were to do that. We would never hear the end of it from the Wacko Righties! But then, they are real news organizations, so they would never do that.

  9. j swift Says:

Lets see, if the propgandist gets his little ass kicked by a protester the defense attorneys need to get that tape. It should help nicely with reasonable doubt.

  10. UncommonSense Says:

    Ward Churchill!

Do you not believe in freedom?

This Fox Noise clown walks into the middle of a peaceful political demonstration march, and can't figure out why they don't stop and engage him in conversation.

    It's a march, you idiot.

But nothing can be allowed to contradict the narrative of DFHs causing trouble in Denver. Even if there is no trouble.

    Fear, unbalanced.

Recreate '68 is an anti-War group. Which would be pretty clear to anyone with the wherewithal to maybe look up the protests at the 1968 convention.

That's understandable, given your patronage of Faux News.

Tracy, is it as futile as it seems to ask you to make sense once in a while?

Expecting a "News" channel to engage in actual "News" reporting is not really "taking ourselves so seriously". It's taking a news source seriously.

This is directly from YOUR post @ 2:05 p.m. today...

"The “loons on the left” are the foundation of the 80% of Americans who believe the US is headed in the wrong direction ; you 20%’ers are now the fringe , and rightfully so."

Do you you have anything else?

You did great griff jenkins… never back down from a lefty liberal. These protestors aren’t happy if they aren’t doing two things — ganging up on a smaller number of people (in this case one person) and living out their hippie parent’s stories from the 60’s. These loosers don’t know how good they got it. Plus there is a lot of mental illness to consider as well.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

You are an ignorant lying piece of garbage. Faux propaganda outfit shows there is no level of moral depravity to which they would not sink while you and GollyGeewhatamoronIam cheer it on as if it were worthwhile to show the rightwing is completely devoid of decency.

So by your own definition that would exempt Olbermann from all journalism, considering that is his MO with his biased one sided reporting.

No, Tracy, it wouldn't "exempt Olberman from all journalism". Sometimes Olberman does engage in real journalism, at least, insofar as his position calls for it.

But I wouldn't consider Olberman's show journalism in the sense that I am speaking of it here, either. He presents stories, and also offers opinion.

But what you seem to not want to get is that whether Olberman is a journalist or not has nothing to do with what ol' Griff was trying to pull among the fringe protesters. Which was, essentially, generate news with himself in the story.

You keep defending it as newsworthy, but if it was newsworthy, why would he have to create a story?

    He wouldn't.

  178. Tracy__5 Says:

"Cite where I claimed that the “Loons on the Left” comprise the basis of the Democratic party , skid mark ; you can’t , because that isn’t what I wrote…."

So the Democratic party doesn't represent the 80% you are referring to?

"80% of the ENTIRE COUNTRY believes we are on the wrong track"

That doesn't mean that the "loons on the left" represent or form the base of that 80%. To imply that would mean that the 80% agrees that we need to do away with free enterprise and free markets and American capitalism in general.

  179. Tracy__5 Says:

"But you have already established that Faux is an Op-Ed entertainment group, not a news organization when you compared them to Olbermann."

Some of the talk shows are, just as I wouldn't think you could characterize all of MSNBC as an Op-Ed entertainment group.

  180. Tracy__5 Says:

"No, Tracy, it wouldn’t “exempt Olberman from all journalism”. Sometimes Olberman does engage in real journalism, at least, insofar as his position calls for it."

Considering he only presents his position and never calls into question liberals like Obama, his entire show is only a op-ed bit, not a "newscast". This means that if he really engaged in real journalism, as you claim, he would present FULL context when he "reports the new" which would require him to present both sides of a story, which he doesn't.

"You keep defending it as newsworthy, but if it was newsworthy, why would he have to create a story?"

Just asking questions and letting the protestors present their viewpoint isn't newsworthy? I am sure many people, including myself, are interested in hearing why these people are protesting. Just showing some short video clips of these people marching down the street with their banners, which is what every other news outlet does, doesn't present a fair context to the viewer at all. Do you think it would be more "journalistic" to get the march organizers to say a few words about the demonstration vs. the "soldiers"?

Jeezus, Tracy, you really are stupid.

I'm sorry to insult you so harshly, and I don't say it lightly. But you really seem to have a difficulty processing language.

I never said Olberman's show was a "newscast". And real journalism does not require one to "present both sides of a story".

It requires on to present the FACTS of a story, fairly and accurately. If one side has facts and the other side has lies, it is journalistic malpractice to present the lies as if they were equally valid.

“You keep defending it as newsworthy, but if it was newsworthy, why would he have to create a story?”

Just asking questions and letting the protestors present their viewpoint isn’t newsworthy? I am sure many people, including myself, are interested in hearing why these people are protesting.

It is not necessarily newsworthy, no. But you ignored my question.

And be honest, Trace, you aren't at all interested in what these people are protesting, since you already dismissed them as "far left Loons". All you're interested in is how they can be used to make Democrats look bad.

That's all Faux News in interested in, too, which is WHY it is not real journalism.

I really hope you understand it this time, because I'm getting tired of explaining shit to you.

  182. Kgprophet Says:

When are those Vidiots who watch this going to catch on that there is a double-standard. What do you think would be the response if MSNBC had a troublemaker causing havoc at the RNC?

    That is, if they think.

  183. Tracy__5 Says:

"And real journalism does not require one to “present both sides of a story”."

"It requires on to present the FACTS of a story, fairly and accurately."

That is your unqualified opinion. If in order to give a "fair" presentation of the facts to the public requires that both sides of a contested issue to be presented. The "real" journalist needs to do that first, then he or she may give his opinion. So considering Olbermann cherry pick facts from stories he reports on that almost always has another "side" to it and spins them on a constant basis in order to make one side of a debate look blameless and the other to look bad that isn't real journalism. I would consider "fairly" to mean that they don't spin or take a quote out of context...which Olbermann does on a daily basis.

"If one side has facts and the other side has lies, it is journalistic malpractice to present the lies as if they were equally valid."

It's also journalistic malpractice to spin and take people's quotes out of context and/or not present all of the facts.

"And be honest, Trace, you aren’t at all interested in what these people are protesting, since you already dismissed them as “far left Loons”. All you’re interested in is how they can be used to make Democrats look bad."

I am absolutely interested in what they have to say and what they are protesting about. You are clueless about this. I want to know what makes these people tick. From what I heard in the imprompt to interviews by Jenkins and the signs they were carrying my "far left loons" is pretty much a safe assumption and on the flip side every time I see a KKK rally on television and hear them speak it's safe to assume that those people are "racist loons".

"It is not necessarily newsworthy, no. But you ignored my question."

Why not? Imbeded reporters inside Afghanistan or Iraq are doing "live" journalism and the answers they get are not scripted or edited. Your original question below, was based on your presumptive unqualified opinion that Jenkins was trying to "create news".

"That’s all Faux News in interested in, too, which is WHY it is not real journalism."

Wow, another unqualified opinion by someone who obviously doesn't like hearing both sides of a debate. Who would have guessed?

"I really hope you understand it this time, because I’m getting tired of explaining shit to you."

I am getting really tired of you thinking that you know what "real" journalism is.
