I thought PBS did a wonderful job at the convention… we kept switching from the major channels to see who was covering what, and if you really want to see and hear ALL of the other speekers, without the mindless and endless talkover, then PBS is the place to watch.

With that said, however, Brooks seemed incredibly twitchy, and uncomfortable, and I was uncomfortable watching him. It also seems that the other show hosts and guests have sharpened their claws and tongues. I’m waiting for a brawl.

This kind of nonsense would evaporate if the media would just do their jobs by asking questions like “How are you familiar with North Korean pep rallies?” “Exactly what goes on at one?” “How do you know these things when most of the Western world does not?” “What exactly are the similarities between these two apparently disparate events?”

But it never occurs to the “media” to ask even these simple questions. Incredible. I am continually perplexed as to what qualifications or intellect makes one suitable to go into the profession of journalism these days.

Heh…. After almost eight long years of “Dear Leader”-style adoration of George W. Bush – who can do no wrong, according to the GOP – this wingnut has the nerve to describe the genuine enthusiasm that Democrats have for Obama as a “North Korean pep rally”?

Last time I checked, no one forced the people attending the Democratic National Convention to fly to Denver and show up at the convention center. There were no armed men standing at the door, preventing people from leaving and making sure that everyone is cheering.

I think that the GOP has candidate-envy. They can’t stand their candidate, and they’re just jealous that we love our’s. Sheesh.

Brooks is a rich celebrity bloviator that is terrified of loosing his position of power and priviledge afforded him as one of the village elders. Obama should freeze out these shills for the Republican Party and the status quo. No access will mean their careers are finished and America can get on with repairing the damage.

I don’t think it’s a question of whether I prefer La Nina or El Nino. It’s just that each one causes a disruption in the normal weather patterns and somewhere they are going to suffer.

The whole planet weather systems are screwed up. Al Gore is right. They are actually opening up new shipping lanes in the Artic Sea, becuase during the summer, ships will be able to travel across the North Pole without breaking ice.
