It wasn’t known for sure wether the levees would hold up! They hadn’t been tested by an actual storm until Katrina. Experts? I thought The Army Corps of Engineers were experts. They built the damn leveess. They said they would hold up. Why build levees for over fifty years if they aren’t going to HOLD UP!!! GOT THAT??? Why build them??? For shits and giggles. To make us feel safe. While our goverment say’s that we will be fine, you and your experts knew for a fact we wouldn’t be. Then how stupid am I to live here my whole life thinking those big levees were gonna protect me and my fellow neighbors? GET IT!!!! Open your eyes man. This can happen anywhere and anytime. You arent very bright bunny. He was TOLD the levees would top. A majority of the time levees top they fail. About AGAIN ongoing matenance is necessary. BUSH STOPPED THE CONSTRUCTION FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 37 YEARS even though a force 5 hurricane hitting New Orleans was one of the top three most likely disasters on FEMA’s list. HE diverted that money to Iraq. Your weak attempt at logic is just laughable. Are banks built to be robbed? Of since they DO get robbed does that mean they were built for giggles? Right, and nobody should build near any of the rivers in this country that tend to flood. And nobody should build in any of the tornado alleys nor any of the earthquake fault lines. That takes a special administration, a once in a lifetime (we hope and pray) presidency whose extreme incompetence and arrogant ignorance will be enshrined in the history books as the Worst Presidency Ever… the Bush Administration.

Hence the need for some type of federal agency that could coordinate disaster relief… if only we had a department like that!
