Reuters reports that Barack Obama will deliver his Thursday night acceptance speech before an “elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple”:

Conservatives are mocking the stage as a “temple of Obama.” Ed Morrissey writes, “That this scales heights of presumptuousness can hardly be refuted.” One anonymous McCain adviser quipped, “Is this from the Onion?” No, but it may be inspired by the stage at the 2008 Virginia Republican Convention:

Watch some video highlights of Virginia conservatives presumptuously speaking before Greek columns:
Former Sen. George Allen delivered the keynote before the Greek columns. Watch here and here.
I guess we have alot of “temples” on the Mall in D.C. to tear down. And there goes most of the buildings at my alma mater, The University of Virginia.
We can’t have pagan Greek columns in our Christian nation!
August 27th, 2008 at 11:24 amHypocrisy doth have a new name, and it is Republicanism.
August 27th, 2008 at 11:26 amOr, a rational thinking person could interpret the Obama stage as emblematic of early Geek Democracy.
August 27th, 2008 at 11:27 amThe newly redesigned multimillion dollar Bush White House press briefing room features Greek columns as well.
The Clinton-era briefing room had no such columns.
I’d say it’s more presumptuous to place columns in a 8 x 30 room (with a 10 foot ceiling), no?
August 27th, 2008 at 11:28 amSorry Greek!!
August 27th, 2008 at 11:28 amMy bad
…And several other Greek influences were also felt in the Bush press briefing room, eh, Jeff Gannon…?
August 27th, 2008 at 11:29 amRepublican strategists just gave Vladimir Putin his next line:
“Mr. Bush, tear down this Mall”
August 27th, 2008 at 11:29 amOh great! Now I have to hate classic Greek architecture too?
August 27th, 2008 at 11:31 amMore innane drivel from the party that’s done so very much to turn the greatest nation in the world into a debt-crippled, 3rd rate tin-dictator disaster! I firmly believe that most Americans will rise up and correct the disaster of the last eight years. Unfortunately we’ve got to endure the time between now and 1/20/09. Until that day comes, don’t let hope die.
August 27th, 2008 at 11:34 amImpeach Pelosi, Cheney and Bush and Save the Constitution!
Obama’s presumptuous but McCain sent Cindy to Georgia. Hopefully the campaign will jump on this issue once the hoopla of the convention is over.
August 27th, 2008 at 11:38 amSo are we talking gothic columns here or corinthian columns? This is important!
August 27th, 2008 at 11:39 amIt seems Karl’s plane landed in Denver. The goose poop is flying. Surely some it will stick? Oh no, those are TEFLON columns.
Regroup, 9-11? POW? Dang! We need to pull out the big guns! Get Cheney to start a war somewhere…
August 27th, 2008 at 11:42 amIt’s all Greek to me!
PEACE
August 27th, 2008 at 11:45 amSo that’s why Reagan called for tearing down the Brandenburg Gate. Columns!
It’s like Steve Martin in The Jerk, hiding in the gas station from the shooter. “Cans! He hates cans! Oh no, more cans!”
Apparently, Republicans hate columns!
August 27th, 2008 at 11:49 amGreek columns? Isn’t that a mere formality of the top 1% hogging the wealth?
August 27th, 2008 at 11:49 amOne anonymous McCain adviser quipped, “Is this from the Onion?”
– - The most shocking part of this story is that a McCain adviser knows what The Onion is.
August 27th, 2008 at 11:50 am50 bucks says one of McCain’s houses has Greek columns.
August 27th, 2008 at 11:50 amThe Reich doens`t like it because it represents democracy and freedom of the early Greek city states that actually had free elections and debates before going to WAR.Th Reich Wing is a pathetic bunch who have put their party ahead of the needs of this country and they are on their way out!!!!!!!!!!
August 27th, 2008 at 11:51 amAnd another 50 that McCain can’t remember which one.
August 27th, 2008 at 11:52 amht, I’m betting on Ionic or Doric columns.
August 27th, 2008 at 11:53 amIf anyone qualifies as expert in “blind hubris” it’s pseudointellectual V.D. Hanson. Of course, were he not a complete putz, he’d also recognize the columns as Doric – the tribe of which his precious Spartans were a part.
And speaking of blind hubris, anybody found those WMDs which V.D.’s boys were certain existed?
August 27th, 2008 at 11:55 amAnd to cap off the evening…Jim Gilmore to accept the nomination from Jimbo Skinner and Rudder Bunsky.
Congratulations, Jimmy. You’re gonna be some tasty sacrificial lamb come November!
August 27th, 2008 at 11:55 amfrygian columns sound egyptian
(a joke for advanced jazz musicians)
August 27th, 2008 at 12:00 pmSince they can’t argue against the platform, they’ll argue about the stage.
Typical…
August 27th, 2008 at 12:00 pmstateofthedivision Says:
Apparently, Republicans hate columns!
August 27th, 2008 at 11:49 am
______
I believe Stephen Colbert recently referred to them as just a crutch to hold up ceilings that are too lazy to support themselves…
August 27th, 2008 at 12:01 pmIs there any doubt that rebubs will critisize anything and everything about the democrats. When you don’t have any substance to back up your rhetoric, everything is a straw to grasp at.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:03 pmMcCain: “Speaking of columns, I had to form a column all by myself at chow time while I was a POW and I was forced to eat my gruel.”
August 27th, 2008 at 12:03 pmMcCain will be standing in front of a giant pile of steaming BS…one oz for each dollar spent on Iraq and Tax relief for the wealthy.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:04 pmWhen I was a boy, my father once told me about how people who live in glass houses should not be throwing stones around.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:05 pmEnvy is the word. The little white men are in awe of the democrats. McPOW couldn’t fill a phone booth if he was giving out money. Watch and learn goopers, you will be in the minority for a long long time.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:06 pmHands down the wittiest comment of the week. Featured comment material if I ever saw one.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:08 pmThe video showed George Allen, also a grad of column clad UVA.
What most people don’t know, the kid he called “Macacca” was attending the University of Virginia. Allen abused a fellow Wahoo. It’s a bizarre, fractally world.
How will UVA’s pretentious football team do this fall?
August 27th, 2008 at 12:10 pmDaryll; you are soooooooooo full of shit.
Go Cheney yourself!
August 27th, 2008 at 12:10 pmDaryll Says:
I’ve sent this document to Fox News, CNN and MSNBC. There is a reason the terrorist want Hussein to win. He’s hiding his true religion (islam) through christianity. This has to be stopped. He is a wolf in sheeps clothing. There is a reason why terrorists want him to win.
Flagged for lunacy.
Daryll, you are completely insane. Go shake off the devil somewhere far away. You won’t be missed.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:10 pmi don’t get it. what are the democrats supposed to think?
have you seen the republican nominee? how can they lose?
August 27th, 2008 at 12:11 pmUpdateVictor Davis Hanson chimes in with his criticism, calling the Greek columns “blind hubris.”
No, hubris is making a complete ass of yourself while being too arrogant to notice.

August 27th, 2008 at 12:11 pmParodyll,
August 27th, 2008 at 12:14 pmYour schtick has grown tired, old, and worthless.
Give it up.
Go pretend you’re an African American Christian (notice the capital “c”) on a blog elsewhere.
Tweedster; thnaks for flagging the troll. I tried to do it myself, but flagging icon was not responding.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:14 pmoh man thank god for daryll. if it wasn’t for him i would have voted for obama. but now i can see that only his cunning eye could have detected the obama fraud. there’s no way the justice department, the fbi, the cia and all our other spook outfits could have known this.
thank you daryll you are a true american.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:15 pmYour IOKIYAR alert for the day.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:15 pmdaryll, go hang on a cross you silly ignorant superstitious fool
August 27th, 2008 at 12:17 pmDaryll; isn’t that kool-aid laced water you are carrying for the Reichwing getting kind of heavy.
Take a break.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:18 pmYou don’t have to be a prick every day of your life.
You known, Hillary’s awesome speech last night must have stumped the right wing antagonists, and they in turn have failed to regurgitate to the trolls today’s talking points.
Example? I give you Parodyll.
Nothing like re-hashing old talking points when you don’t have anything.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:18 pmLOL
Limpballs just did a little rant on the Greek temple background for the Obama speech tomorrow night. I sent him a link to this article and thread and told him to “chew on it”.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:19 pmdaryll, that “lying-talking-point” has been in the viral email loop for months.
You’re a tad late to the party…
August 27th, 2008 at 12:19 pmKeep futilely banging your head against the wall Daryll, maybe you’ll knock some sense into yourself yet.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:19 pmDaryll Says:
——————————————————————————–
You’re in denial. The man is a muslim. Have you wondered why he’s been very light on Iran? I wonder why Michelle decided not to include that he attended a madrasa?
August 27th, 2008 at 12:13 pm
________
You attended a madrasa, too. And so did I. It means “school” in Arabic.
And “light on Iran?” Barack has been almost as warmongery on Iran as Hillary – a bit too much for my tastes. He’s “light” only in comparison to Mr. Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb McCain.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:20 pmWhat was the name of that book Tranny Coulter wrote?
“Useful Idiots”???
Darryl, you’re a useful idiot. And a truly annoying one at that.
Flag ‘em boys. He’s just too big a pain in the Cheney…
August 27th, 2008 at 12:20 pmi’m with you daryll, we can’t have extremists running the country. god knows what they would do. it’s possible they might even invade a sovereign nation w/o any reason whatsoever.
we definitely need to put a stop to this.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:21 pmAttention: Trollette’s Syndrome Outbreak!
Clean-up on aisle daryll!
p.s. — you are one neuron short of a synapse, cupcake
August 27th, 2008 at 12:21 pmmuslim extremists taking over the Capital?
That might be refreshing, considering that the Religious reich-wing nuts have been running it for the last several years.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:21 pmThat’s a change I can hope for.
Daryll Says:
I’m just trying to ensure that muslim extremists do not take over the Capitol.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:18 pm
_______
And I’m trying to ensure that Christian extremists don’t remain in power in the Capitol – you all are just as dangerous.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:21 pmYes daryll, i do. It was when some religious extremists (like you) that believe in a magic man in the sky (like you) attacked our country because they “hate us for our freedoms” (like you)
ALL you religious morons need to jump off the planet.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:23 pmDaryll Says:
Remember 9/11?
August 27th, 2008 at 12:19 pm
_______
Very well. I witnessed it firsthand. The people who committed those criminal acts have as much to do with Islam as the KKK has to do with Christianity.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:23 pmdaryll, or can i call your Mr. lict?
you hold off the extremist muslim’s, i’ll keep an eye on them damn vampires.
let’s do this thing!
August 27th, 2008 at 12:23 pmDaryll Says:
Madrasas inform children that western civilization (Christianity, freedom, etc.) is wrong. They inform children to uphold their faith through extremism. Hussein is hiding his true colors, which is dangerous for our nation.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
______
Have you ever been to one? Have you ever read their textboks or listened to their teachers? I’m curious as to what you’re basing this on.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:24 pmI guess all those clinic bombings, church bombings, Olympic bombing, and gay bar bombings don’t count?
You are one stupid hick.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:25 pmAnyone who does not think Parodyll is just a parody, I give you:
Chrisitans have never committed terrorist attacks to influence others to convert to their faith.
Although, in all fairness, I have no idea what a Chrisitan is, so it is possible they may NEVER have committed terrorism to influence others to convert to Chrisitanity.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:26 pmGreek Columns are phallic symbols for the repukes, in like…
…Larry Craig would like to sit on your “Greek Column”
…Tom Folley wants him some young “Greek Column”
To Democrats it’s just a nice design.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:27 pmDaryll Says:
Chrisitans have never committed terrorist attacks to influence others to convert to their faith.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:24 pm
_______
How do you know? What were the motives of the Blackwater Christian terrorists when they shot up Mansour square?
August 27th, 2008 at 12:27 pmmy local courthouse has greek columns. imagine the presumptuousness! thinking its the supreme court building or something.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:28 pmDid you even read your own link, that was registration to a Catholic school. Are you insane?
August 27th, 2008 at 12:29 pmha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
where to begin?
August 27th, 2008 at 12:29 pmDaryll Says:
All of the hijackers attended madrasas, which teaches extremism. Hussein attended a madrasa.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
__________
And so did you, so it would seem that madrasas produce Christian terrorists as well.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:29 pmParodyll Giuliani says:
All of the hijackers attended madrasas, which teaches extremism. Hussein attended a madrasa.
They also frequented strip clubs in Florida.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:29 pmWhat’s your point?
ht, you’re like a cruel cat playing with a wounded bird before it dies!
August 27th, 2008 at 12:30 pmOn the one hand – OMG! Obama’s Christian mentor quoted somebody saying something bad about America! The horror! And on the other – OMG! Obama’s a Muslim! The horror! Good God, man, does your mental facility allow you pearls to clutch to your heaving bosom?
BTW, the Bible of our country says “there shall be no religious test for public office.” Why do you spout anti-American heresy? During the centuries in which your febrile mind exists they boiled heretics in oil. Mental incompetence was no excuse. Be thankful the rest of us have progressed beyond the Dark Ages.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:30 pmDaryll Says: he is still a superstitious idiot without two brain cells to rub together.
Hey fool, did that little magical invisible faerie in your head tell you that? Just like Phuckabee was going to be president, uh, idiot?
Flagged for being obnoxious, and stupid.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:33 pmrhf says:
ROTFL!!! So you’re saying Christians have different MOTIVATIONS for their terrorism, so it’s OK? ROTFL!
No. He’s saying that Chrisitans don’t.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:33 pmI guess they are a cult of tan Chris’?
Daryll Says:
All of the hijackers attended madrasas, which teaches extremism. Hussein attended a madrasa.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
______
And Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, alleged mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, attended a Baptist madrasa in North Carolina before attending the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State madrasa. Is that where he learned his anti-West extremism, you think?
August 27th, 2008 at 12:34 pmParodyll says:
I guarantee you that this issue will cause his election.
Thank you for admitting that Barack will be our next president!
August 27th, 2008 at 12:37 pmDaryll Says:
I guarantee you that this issue will cause his election.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
______
If you’re referring to the ignorance and bigotry of the American people, then I have to grudgingly agree with you. But I’m still going to fight your lies about Obama and Islam at every step.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:38 pmThey thought that they were being attacked.
Now daryll’s starting to understand the “extremist” point of view.
Middle Eastern countries believe they’re being “assaulted” by Western society.
Such a dimwitted little paradiddle.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:39 pmParodyll says:
Why do you support extremists? If you care about this country, you would vote for anyone but Hussein and Cynthia McKinney.
Seems to me the extremist is the one telling us who to vote for.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:39 pmI, myself, care about a country that allows the freedom to vote for whomever you want.
But, again, that’s the Progressive in me.
Daryll; Just how many stupidity pills did you take today?
the entire bottle?
August 27th, 2008 at 12:39 pmDaryll Says:
I am tired of this troll’s constant lies, I am going to start flagging this lying troll every time it posts from now on.
maybe if he gets banned, he can have time to convince the RNC they have to run Huckabee rather than McCain, so he won’t be stoned to death when the Republicans try to set up biblical law as he wants.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:39 pmhussein toasterhead Says:
And Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, alleged mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, attended a Baptist madrasa in North Carolina before attending the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State madrasa. Is that where he learned his anti-West extremism, you think?
August 27th, 2008 at 12:34 pm
_______
And before Scary Brown Hussein Chick or someone corrects me, yes, I know colleges aren’t actually madrasas in Arabic – they’re jaami3as. My point still stands.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:40 pmDaryll the fool says: Chrisitans have never committed terrorist attacks to influence others to convert to their faith.
Oh man, Hahahahahaha, this is rich, oh please, can’t….stop….laughing….can’t stop…Hahahahahaha….
Idiot.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:40 pmRight. Those troubling columns are solid proof that Democrats can’t lead! Is this anything like the wrong cheese on the sandwich or the deeply troubling habit of windsurfing? Is it similar to vicious sighs and rolls of the eyes as a response to lies in a debate? Is it as deeply troubling as looking silly while riding in a tank? Is it as much a red flag as participating in a 20-year old land deal in which you lost money?
The message? Please think about anything BUT public policy.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:41 pmDARYLL
Your link is registration to a CATHOLIC school.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:41 pmDaryll Says:
HE’S A MUSLIM!!!!!!
August 27th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
_______
And so are you. What’s your point? A Muslim (in a very loose linguistic interpretation, I grant you) is anyone who accepts the oneness of God and submits to His will.
Do you not submit to God’s will, Daryll? You’d be a shitty Christian if you didn’t.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:42 pmBible-thumper: “Chrisitans have never committed terrorist attacks to influence others to convert to their faith.”
Well, sure…. if you don’t count the entire Pagan population of Northern Europe.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:43 pmGotta disagree there, rhf.
Remember when Parodyll criticized his own “race” because of the gangsta lifestyle?
Yet, his profile states he listens to “hip hop” and he likes to go ballin’ (whatever the hell that is).
Hypocrisy, I say.
Methinks our Parody troll just googled Darryl and Christian until he found a match.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:44 pmIf he is real, gawd help us all!
If his stepfather was a practicing muslim why would he send him to a Catholic school?
August 27th, 2008 at 12:46 pmDaryll lies out his pie hole:
HE’S A MUSLIM!!!!!!
Lying sack of crap.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:48 pmYou are no Christian, because you lie as if you have no conscience.
Ahem — RHF. I don’t care what search results were yielded from the email address. We’re not posting personal information here. Go ahead and defend your postings from the TOS. If tracking others personal information is your forte, keep any data you think you’ve accurately retrieved to yourself.
K? Thanks.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:48 pmDaryll Says:
I apologize. He didn’t attend a madrasa, BUT HE WAS REGISTRERED AS A MUSLIM.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
________
Yeah – at age six, in a predominantly Muslim country in which the religion of the father automatically determines the religion of the son.
What was your religious affiliation at age 6, Daryll? Were you already programmed to hate gays and brown people?
August 27th, 2008 at 12:49 pmDaryll, just to review, the Ninth Commandment is what they call a “Cardinal sin.” I don’t think you can get into heaven by breaking it.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:51 pmOkay, I just looked up “balling” in the urban dictionary.
It can mean getting rich, having sex, playing basketball, or (and this is a doozy), vaginally inserted cocaine.
Holy Shiite.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:51 pmNow we know why Parodyll goes to South America for his “missions”!
Ever heard of the inquisition?…the crusades, etc.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:51 pmDammit.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:55 pmDid Parodyll hit and run?
Is he ballin’ now?
Daryll says:
Chrisitans have never committed terrorist attacks to influence others to convert to their faith.
Another lie.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:58 pmThe history of Christians is full of the Christians shedding innocent blood, torturing, killing and maiming those who would not convert. In fact this history extends all the way back to the first incarnation of the same god. Christians have just continued the tradition of shedding innocent blood.
Actually the email had the name in it, so I’m not posting anything ‘personal’ that wasn’t already posted by the person – which is within the TOS. Plus PUBLIC websites are not PRIVATE information – which is what the TOS says. Tracking ‘personal’ information is entirely different – buy a dictionary…
The person can expand on the email link by posting the profile himself. If we want further information, we’ll search for it individually and keep the results to ourselves. But I don’t think most of us are concerned with digging up irrelevant information on posters to use it against them.
Don’t see what a dictionary has to do with any of this. But thanks for being the unpredictable, neurotic semi-troll of TP.
August 27th, 2008 at 12:58 pmWhere is this mysterious registry?
August 27th, 2008 at 1:02 pmWhen did Parodyll post his email address, and why?
August 27th, 2008 at 1:10 pmI hope you’re happy, there’s water all over my keyboard.
I think Daryll was “saving souls” or something.
August 27th, 2008 at 1:15 pm@9 hussein toasterhead Said:
So are we talking gothic columns here or corinthian columns? This is important!
Somehow I just remembered that there are 5 orders of architecture, Tuscan, Doric, Ionic, Corinthian and Composite. The Tuscan and Corinthian were Roman while the Doric and Ionic being the Greek. The Composite is merely a combination of the Doric and Ionic.
I think Gothic is appropiate in describing style but is not one the the Classical Orders of Architecture.
http://www.cmhpf.org/kids/dictionary/ClassicalOrders.html
Full Disclosure: I am not now, nor have I ever been an architect.
But I have travelled East and was a 32nd Degree Mason.
August 27th, 2008 at 1:16 pmRHF, show us where anybody said anything about Hillary on this thread? We’re supposed to be on the same side, aren’t we?
August 27th, 2008 at 1:18 pmYou don’t read well do you, were you dropped on the head as a baby? If his email has his last name and first initial in it, and he posts by his first name, then reposting that info is NOT private info. And you are RIGHT you can go search and find out more yourself – but SEARCHING would be for PUBLIC not PRIVATE info. That is unless you went and PAID a service to go gather PRIVATE info. I suggest you re-read the TOS, as you need a DICTIONARY to understand what is PRIVATE versus PUBLIC. I waited until Daryll had posted his email 3 times over the course of several months before I just pointed to people that he was posting his name. There is nothing PRIVATE I divulged.
We don’t care for the link, it is not to be posted here. We don’t want to see it. Darryl can post it for himself if that is actually his profile. Public vs. private is not the issue, posting someone’s personal info without their consent, is. That includes expanding upon personal information they provide here without their consent.
As for being neurotic, look in the mirror. The NEUROSIS of the Obamaheads for the last several months has been appalling. You trash Hillary for voting for the war, and you pick a guy that then votes against FISA and picks a VP that voted for the WAR. At least you do have a good reason to be such NEUROTIC PR**KS… For the last several months it’s been hard to tell the difference between the OBAMA trolls and Daryll. Heck, Zooey even posted some crackpot theory that Hillary belonged to ‘the family’ RELIGIOUS CULT that is NO DIFFERENT from what Daryll is doing. And “I” and the neurotic one? ROTFL, look in the MIRROR – TARD! Where were YOU when the Obamaheads were acting like Daryll? Oh yeah, you were ONE OF THEM!
More rambling from the McCain voter. Nice show you put on last night, party unity night. Real good timing there, thanks for exposing yourself. Now sign-out, there’s no use for you.
You’re one parody simply stalking another (Darryl). How amusing.
August 27th, 2008 at 1:19 pmBut the main reason McWars is slamming me as ‘neurotic’ is specifically because I supported Hillary
HOHO!! It takes a twisted mind to arrive at that conclusion.
Your ‘Obamabots’ blathering surely has nothing to do with it. You are unhinged, you are eccentric, and Hillary would never care for your support.
Zooey specifically had done EXACTLY the same thing to Hillary with “The Family” rumor that Daryll is doing to Obama and NO ONE including McWars defended her
Not sure what you’re referring to.
yet the NEUROTIC McWars has no problems with LIES as long as it’s against Hillary
Feel free to post those “lies” if it helps you make your case. I’ll give you some time.
It has a CONTEXT – DEARIE
Ahem — sexist much?
August 27th, 2008 at 1:32 pmActually, that’s not true rhf.
McWars slammed you for posting Daryll’s supposed information.
YOU injected Hillary into it as a basis for argument.
I know you enjoy these intentional confrontations, but I would suggest you tone down the personal attacks.
August 27th, 2008 at 1:33 pmYour posts are much better and intelligent without the TARD references, among others.
Daryll you have always been bone ignorant and an unrepentent liar. Today you have crossed the Rubicon into total insanity. Please seek the help of a mental health professional immediatly. Sanity is a terrible thing to flush down the toilet as you obviously have.
August 27th, 2008 at 1:34 pmMore rambling from the Obamahead dips**t. I’m voting McKinney, not McCain – MORON – because Obama sucks, which is unfortunate for democrats and the country.
I already established that Daryll was not a PARODY, but your NEUROTIC IDIOCY seems to be coming out again. No wonder you were TARDED enough to believe Zooey’s CULT story about Hillary…
Thanks for the laugh, rhf. You can talk to yourself from here. Enjoy your wasted vote — for either McCain or McKinney — while the rest of the party is unified.
Buh bye, troll.
August 27th, 2008 at 1:35 pmFor Daryll the Idiot:
The Oldest City, St. Augustine, Florida was founded when the Catholic Spaniard Pedro Menendez landed here in 1565. The next day his men decimated the French Protestants who had attempted at settlement at Fort Caroline 30 miles to the North. Within 2 weeks another 200 French Protestant soldiers and sailors who had shipwrecked were murdered by the Spanish. The Mantanzas (massacre) River here is named after that event. Frenchman who claimed to be Catholic were spared the brutal death by sword.
August 27th, 2008 at 1:52 pmAt the risk of getting this thread back on topic — I suspect this sniping from the Republicans comes from two causes:
First, they are mad that a Democrat is co-opting one of their empirical symbols. Perhaps they are reading the handwriting on the wall and realizing their empire is about to crumble.
Second, they are going to snipe at Obama and the Democrats no matter what background they put up behind Obama when he speaks. They would claim he’s being presumptuous if he spoke in front of an American flag. They can’t get him on issues, they can’t get him on his record, and they can’t even get him on gaffes and flip-flops without shooting themselves in the foot, since their candidate is so obviously worse in all these areas. Therefore, they have to get him on crap like this, hypocritical as it is.
Obama would only be mockable in this setting if he dressed in a toga for his speech. Which I doubt he’ll do.

And Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, alleged mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, attended a Baptist madrasa in North Carolina before attending the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State madrasa. Is that where he learned his anti-West extremism, you think?

_______
And before Scary Brown Hussein Chick or someone corrects me, yes, I know colleges aren’t actually madrasas in Arabic – they’re jaami3as. My point still stands.
It just means college/school as far as I know, no religious connotation. Some people (not you) seem to feel that everything in Arabic has a religious implication. Sometimes a duck is just a duck… LOL.
As for Daryll’s trolling, it makes no sense. Even if someone’s parent declared them to be a Muslim when they were just a little kid, it doesn’t mean anything. One is not obligated to practice Islam until they reach the age of puberty and can make a conscious choice to choose the faith and follow it. When Obama was old enough to make a choice, he chose Christianity. If there is something wrong with this, that would mean any convert or born-again Christian is really not a Christian if you are still going to judge him by what he was or wasn’t before, especially when he was not old enough to make a choice about it. There is no point in proselytizing then, if you aren’t going to ever forgive a Christian convert for what they were before. In which case, Daryll needs to just give up and go home.
p.s. I just came back from San Francisco (thanks for the trip idea, Daryll) and I did not see any signs of gayness. There is a red heart sculpture in Union Square, but it did not seem gay to me. Mostly the city was tourists with cameras crammed onto trolleys. LOL. Had a great trip though!

I’m just trying to ensure that muslim extremists do not take over the Capitol.
At this point, you stupid pile of festering dogcrap, I’d MUCH rather have Muslims in charge than you Christofascist freaks.
August 27th, 2008 at 2:26 pmDang, Daryll, you went and soilded this thread. A number of people on this board came to your defense the last few days. They might not do so again.

August 27th, 2008 at 3:47 pmDon’t know why my whole comment didn’t take, but here’s what fleshed out the link I provided immediately above.
Thanks for this particular post TP, I was able to use it to smack on This Idiotic Comment from a blithering Obama-basher.
I’m hoping he responds, but won’t be surprised if he doesn’t.
August 27th, 2008 at 3:50 pmDamn! I missed the battle between Daryll and rhf. But, even without help, it’s like watching cats play water polo!
August 27th, 2008 at 4:17 pmShit Damn! I’m with pete. Maybe I’ll just quit work so I can enjoy the freak battles at my leisure and in real time. Frickin’ oddballs…
August 27th, 2008 at 5:56 pmOh, so what if half of Warshington DC and the Virginia Republican convention had Greek columns.
That’s not the point.
The point is to say that Obama’s giving a speech surrounded by a temple, and that’s “presumptuous” … and to say it over and over and over, to echo it through the RW Mighty Wurlitzer, in blast faxes and “talking points” and just keep repeating it until it becomes ‘accepted wisdom’….
Most of the ‘Merkun-Idol-watching Yoo Ess of Aye aren’t going to read ThinkProgress, and even if someone mentions this inconventient fact (that such columns are all over the place) on prime time, they won’t notice or care. It’s the first mention that sticks in people’s minds. The Republicans know this.
That’s why we need to keep hammering on the simply stuff like “McSame doesn’t even know how many houses he has” and “you’re not rich unless you’re earning $5M a year, according to McSame”. And keep publishing pictures of McSame hugging Duby and Cheney.
Cheers,
