Michelle was just awesome on Monday. Now, it will be interesting of how many minorities will tune in for the speeches of Thurston McCain III and Lovey Cindy at the RNC next week.

  2. chiefeditor Says:

Of course! It was a great speech. We posted a couple of dozen MP3 highlights.

  3. McWars Says:

I’m glad that african americans can feel represented at the highest level. It will get better for them as their needs are addressed, with Obama in office.

I am sure the size of the audience is very gratifying to the sponsors, Coke and AT&T, among others.

It’s very successful. The Democrat marketers have learned to sell ever more and more millions of ‘viewers’ to the sponsors, in a perfectly visible, paradigmatic, macro-microcosmic case of the whole, usually hidden dynamic of the trade in images. Those (bi-partisan) hucksters out there beating the streets to deliver MORE and MORE and MORE consumers for the Corporat message.

No public political function should EVER be “sponsored” by those corporate interests which it is the Body Politic’s function and purpose to supervise and regulate in the public interest.

There is no practical difference between impropriety in public office and the appearance of impropriety in public office. Because it is not the impropriety itself which damages the public weal, it is the damage to trust in the fairness of institutions which is the real social ill.

We need to bring back ’stocks.’

  6. upside99 Says:

Now if all those viewers will show up and VOTE, then it will mean something.

  7. mark_scism Says:

@ Tokin Librul: I agree wholeheartedly. Hence why I will vote Nader this year and why I will vote for any other party that isn’t Republicrat. They are just as open for business as the Republicans, they just keep up appearances a little bit better.

I am sickened by the Democrats’ (in)actions since 2006, which include the continuation of Iraq occupation, NOT impeaching Bush, and passing the recent FISA bill to NOT go after illegal wiretappers. It’s obvious that there are no real options on the ballot

  8. upside99 Says:

    mark_scism,

Of course, a vote for Nader IS a vote for McDepends, as you well know.

Like it ir not, we have a two party system and usually we are put in the postion of choosing the lesser of two evils. And I happen to think that Johnny Boy is the more evil one.

  9. sectionop92 Says:

Billo doesn’t m-f’ing like that at all! Then again, Senator Glenn Beck McCarthy would say black people watch all the hip and trendy black people, like Sherman Hemsley & Todd Bridges.

Pixel105 is a hit-and-run spammer with only one message — never contributing anything but an advertisement to another website. I flag every one of his/her posts, but TP apparently does nothing about it.

Maybe THIS is what TP meant when they said they would start taking advertising?

    Sigh.

  11. Buckie Boy Says:

And 26 million people heard an excellent speech that night.

    The kids were darling.

  12. Zooey Says:

It was a kick ass speech. She’ll be a GREAT First Lady, and I would be honored to cast my vote for her as President one day.

  13. Tracy__5 Says:

Michelle Obama is a very good example of what it means to be a good parent. I thought her speech was great as well, now if her husband’s policies would actually reflect her speech I would vote for him.

  14. pete Says:

And, of course, the fifth level troll has taken the time to actually find out what her husband’s policies are, for himself, rather than depending on the insane interpretations of the Reichwingers.

What’s that? 10 second sound bites from the fringes of political respectability? Sigh…

  15. Bobwurst Says:

Where do Barak’s policies differ from Michelle’s speech Tracy_5. Here is an opportunity to be taken seriously, please don’t waste it.

“Where do Barak’s policies differ from Michelle’s speech Tracy_5. Here is an opportunity to be taken seriously, please don’t waste it.”

Increasing taxes on the American people and punishing achievement doesn’t help people achieve their dreams.

Taxing corporations more isn’t going to bring down the price of goods and services.

Creating NEW government social programs isn’t going to solve problem with poverty. Instead reform of existing ones that doesn’t increase federal spending.

And finally saying you are for family values and saying that it’s “above my pay grade” to make the determination when human life is worth saving doesn’t reflect family values.
