Hillary Clinton just concluded the nomination of Barack Obama as the Democratic Party’s candidate for President of the United States of America.

Okay, now we can all go back to the big story of the day – Dick Cheney being a dick at the American Legion.

As a Vet and an ex-member of the Legion I feel as you do. However, all the members of the Legion are not as astute as we would like to believe. I lost my younger Brother and my best friend, both Bushco supporters, to the real Legionnaire’s Disease, commonly called “Another round, Sarge!” (And they weren’t referring to a shot for their pistol). It was not the fault of the Legion it was the weakness of the individuals involved. The point is that the Legion is not necessarily in bed with Bushco. As with any organization it is the individual that makes the whole, either good or bad.

If the taxpayers won’t foot Cheney’s bill, I’m sure Haliburton, some big oil/energy outfit, Blackwater, a telecom giant or numerous other special interests would be willing to do it off the books. Because it’s not like anyone is going to impeach him at this point.

Ah, nothing like a surge of fascist, imperial aggression to make things right, in the colonies… Worked for the mad King George III of England, back in 1776, right, with his Red Coats trying to put down the separatists of the 13 Royal Colonies? Worked for the French colonialists occupying Vietnam, back in the early 1950s, can you say Dien Bien Phu? (The French troops were surrounded there and under siege from the Vietnamese).

Don’t bother mentioning the financial cost of two imperial occupations to the American taxpayers. Only some $3,000,000,000.oo per week, a bargain, huh? And what exactly do we get out of this?
