Fiorina: McCain Has Always Shown ‘Respect’ Towards Hillary Clinton And All Women»

In recent weeks, Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) campaign has showered praise on Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY), in an effort to court female voters. Yesterday, Carly Fiorina said, “Hillary Clinton was not respected to the extent she had earned,” adding, “John McCain has long honored and respected Hillary Clinton.”

Interviewed on Fox News after Clinton’s speech last night, Fiorina said Clinton had been “dissed in the way that she was treated” and that McCain knows that women “expect to be respected”:

FIORINA: Women do feel that Hillary Clinton was dissed. Women feel that Hillary Clinton was dissed in the way that she was treated as she ran her campaign. Women feel she was dissed in not being seriously considered for the vice presidency. … And I think now women are very attuned to the fact that they expect to be respected. And John McCain will work for every single woman’s vote. And that is a sign of respect.

Watch it:

It is particularly unfitting for the McCain campaign to talk about being respectful to Clinton, as he and his surrogates have a history of making offensive, crude, and vulgar comments towards her:

– Her problem is she’s Hillary Clinton. And some women, by the way, are named [bitch], and it’s accurate. — McCain adviser Alex Castellanos, [5/21/08]

– Q: “How do we beat the bitch [Clinton]?” McCAIN: “That’s an excellent question.” [11/13/07]

– “Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno.” [1998]

…And to women in general:

– “Did you hear the one about the woman who is attacked on the street by a gorilla, beaten senseless, raped repeatedly and left to die?” [1986]

– McCain reportedly told his wife Cindy that she “plasters on the makeup like a trollop,” then addressed her with an insulting and derogatory word. [1992]

– Said women need more “training and education” instead of fair pay legislation. [4/23/08]

Not only has McCain been personally disrespectful to women, but his policy proposals actively undermine them. As Elizabeth Edwards has noted, McCain’s dogmatic adherence to the individual health care market disproportionately hurts women, who are forced to pay more for coverage. McCain opposed the Ledbetter Act, which would have made it easier for women to pursue pay discrimination suits.

    He sure does …………

Well , if you believe calling women “c*nts” is an endearing term , anyway……….

  2. Uncle Ho Says:

    Respect towards all women, huh?

So I guess that when he dumped his wife for a rich bwitch, and then calls Cindy a c*nt, he was just being respectful.

    sarc ON

  3. WillowOrchid Says:

Given McCain’s vile temper and contempt for women in general I expect he’s called his wife worse names.

  4. MCMetal Says:

Fiorina: McCain Has Always Shown ‘Respect’ Towards Hillary Clinton And All Women

    BTW , Ms Fiorina

How much respect did McDepends show his 1st wife , cheating on her at any given time and opportunity ??????

  5. Buckie Boy Says:

And responding to this in the way the McSame team has is also talking down to women, they think they are not well informed enough to know what republicans and McSame in general think of women.

It is the Repukian Women that Rove and Limpballs have planted in the Dems to make this sort of smear happen.

PUMA my a$$, they are republican plants.

  6. raynman Says:

McCain respects women the same way he respects veterans…

    ’nuff said

  7. Leftside Annie Says:

Yeah, I always show my respect for other women by calling them “trollops” and “c*nts”…

    Always!

  8. Zooey Says:

Shorter Fiorina: I’ll say anything if you pay me enough. *wink*

  9. SP Biloxi Says:

Sure, Fiorina. And McCain calling Cindy a c*ntvis showing “respect” toward women? What planet is Fiorina on?

  10. MCMetal Says:

This statement makes perfect sense , seeing as how McDepends is being advised by Turd Blossom Rove ; someone who is all about ‘respect’ and who holds the American voting public in the highest regards…………

Having “respect” for voters entails being forthright and honest , and standing strong by ideas and ideals ; something that McDipshit has never possessed.

He has changed every one of stances on the issues , in order to pander to the base of the GOP……..

  11. WaltB Says:

Yeah, he showed a ton of respect for his wife (the mother of his kids!) when he started an affair with Cindy.

  12. Kahoneez Says:

Absurd Statement and Comment of the Day , from Council on Foreign Relation mouth piece NBC’s ..Tom Brokaw .
First repeating right wing talking points questioning Obama’s ” Foreign policy experience ” (rule number 1, never mention that Bush jr. NEVEr had any, or even Clinton ), which was followed by the ABSURD and LOADED comment to an obama advisor . ..” THE PEOPLE WE TALKED TO , DIDN’T BELIEVE HE HAD ENOUGH FOREIGN POLICY EXPERIENCE ” ..DID YOU GET THAT . The ” people we talked to ” , was not only an unprofessional comment from a so called ” journalist ” , it was transparently BIASED attack and shows the contempt for the American people or viewers he has .
Just as appalling was his admission in the next interview with RICHARD HAASS (PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL ON FOREIGN RELATIONS ) AND I WOULD SUGGEST READING EVERYTHING YOU CAN ABOUT THIS CABAL . His admission he moderated the CFR meeting in DENVER .

OK , now lets break down what Alex Jones has reported about these globalists who want a world government , using THEIR OWN WORDS , OK .
RICHARD HAASS ( cfr PRESIDENT , FRIEND OF TOM BROKAW )COMMENTS -

” sovereignty is increasingly conditional ”
” time to rethink sovereignty ” ..and this
he said, “must be prepared to cede some sovereignty to world bodies if the international system is to function. This is already taking place in the trade realm.” In referring to actions taking place in the trade realm, of course, he means primarily those taking place at the World Trade Organization, but also doubtless those that are being implemented through the so-called free trade agreements: NAFTA, CAFTA, and the (stalled) FTAA.
They also are exploiting global warming and natural disasters by claiming ” Countries need to cede sovereignty to combat disasters ” GET tHAT ?

See what there GOAL is ..for countries (U.S. included ) to CEDE SOVEREIGNTY and for Global Corporations to take over what is ceded. So these people are a danger to democracy and what little control we have of our country , will be eroded if they get their way, over my dead body . They Are globalist CRIMINALS and TRAITORS !

  13. Marie Says:

I am sure that Cindy loves being called a C–T — it’s one of those sweet nothings. He also likes to compliment her makeup - with little words of appreciation, like “trollop.”
And he is so proud of her body that he suggest she enter the Miss Buffalo Chip topless beauty contest.
All those wonderful ways in which he shows respect for his own wife.

    As for women:
Abandoning his first wife and family.
    Shunning his half-sisters-in-law.
He has such a way with jokes, with women as the punch line.
    Voting against women’s issues.

Yeah, he’s real respectful, that McCain.

  14. Marie Says:

Of Course, Fiorina may have a different definition of respect for others — ask her former employees at HP.

  15. bebop Says:

The video of McCain laughing hysterically as a questioner asked “how do we beat the b*tch” should become must see video for all wavering Hillary supporters to see what being dissed really is about.

  16. Guido the Loving OBGYN Says:

    amazing.

Fiorina: McCain Has Always Shown ‘Respect’ Towards Hillary Clinton And All Women

    - - And one of the many ways is to take away a woman’s right to an abortion.

  18. ljm Says:

Sure, Carly the Mercenary and if Hillary had won you would be respecting and supporting her just because she is a woman, right? Repubs are desperate and trying everything to divide the country…. because there is absolutely nothing to brag about from their camp. But she always has her condescending grin to help us understand her great kindnesses and incite.(sic)

  19. EugeneDebs Says:

Sure he is respectful in the same way as the guy who tells a woman sure I will still respect you in the morning.

  20. spencers mom Says:

“My friends, I spent 5 1/2 years without women in a prison and I can tell you, my friends, that I grew to appreciate women during that time, my friends. After all, my friends, as a POW, I didn’t have a table, or a kitchen table, or a woman to clean the table that I didn’t have, my friends.”

So listen up, fellow c*nts and b*tches, McStain is going to be anything and say anything he has to in order to be president.

    PEACE

  21. Xisithrus Says:

    He respects their money!

  22. fletc3her Says:

Going after Chelsea is a bit off sides. I could never understand criticisms of her appearance in any case. She looked great at the convention.

However, his crude misogynist attacks against his competitor’s children are nothing compared to his terrible policy positions. McCain does not support equal pay for equal work. McCain does not support the right of women to marry who they want. McCain does not support access to abortion and contraception.

  23. spencers mom Says:

    Kahoneez Says:

Absurd Statement and Comment of the Day , from Council on Foreign Relation mouth piece NBC’s ..Tom Brokaw .

I’ve noticed that every time Brokaw refers to McStain, he says “John McCain, POW and decorated war hero…”

That’s your liberal media bias at work!

    PEACE

  24. ucsbclassics53 Says:

Yes, C*nt is not a slur, it’s an honorific term when a Republican uses it…It’s okay to laugh at the term “b*tch” in that campaign rally…as long as you’re a Republican…

Anything you do to a woman that a sane person might construe as disrespect or sexist is the opposite when a Republican does it.

  25. Abu Ben Hussein Leporello Says:

Is there Nothing the MSM won’t call McWorse out on? If he snaps and beats a cameraman to death, will they laugh that off too? When will the Repubs pull the bait-and-switch and put their real candidate foreward? The party that gave us Abraham Lincoln (1 time representitive, failed senate bid, how’s That for inexperience?) has turned itself into a traveling freak show! Come on November 4th and End this insanity!
Impeach Pelosi, Cheney and Bush and Save the Constitution!

  26. RUCerious Says:

Does he support wild rumors about his love child?

Seriously, his tirade whenst he called his wife a c*nt tells me all I need to know about McIIIrd’s attitude toward cashcows, er, uh, women.

  27. 49erDem Says:

After publically expressing her desire to make sure the corporate culture at HP would remain a standard as it had been for the Silicon Valley, Carly Fiorina fired 18,000 people from HP and Compac and then proceeded to run both companies into the ground until was unceremoniously dumped by the board. Later, when asked if she had any regrets or had made any mistakes, she said “I should have fired those 18,000 people sooner.”

She’s a perfect spokesperson for John McCain.

  28. RUCerious Says:

I wish some of the prostitutes he was serviced by during his captivity would come forward and testify about his ‘respect’ for women.

  29. mary Says:

  32. tarazan Says:

McCain camp is doing everything they could to cash on Hillary’s vs Obama story.
Even Rush Limbaugh during the primaries became a defender of the Clintons.
It is laughable , because these people who did everything they could in the past to defeat, humiliate and destroy the Clinons.
They were jubilant when Clinton was dragged to be impeached in the Senate.
Now they are crying for the Clintons and Hillary and how McCain was unhappy about how she was mistreated, and he is the defender of women.
Fiorina is trying to tell us: “take it from me”, but why should we believe her? !!

  33. republicans hate facts Says:

McCain like most republicans has always been a pig when it comes to women’s rights. That being said, the “bros before hos” of Obamaheads and the constant sexism from the media, pundits and Obamaheads during the primaries didn’t exactly win over Hillary supporters either. There’s way too much misogyny in our society and it’s way too tolerated. This is the issue that many Hillary supporters had with the primaries. Unfortunately it’s an issue that only some democrats and much fewer Republicans seem to be concerned with.

I’m completely pissed off at Obama and his followers, but voting for McCain? Please! McCain is the last person Hillary supporters should be voting for. If you are a Hillary supporter and you’re considering McCain, at least have the decency to vote for a 3rd party candidate before you vote for that old fool…

  34. misshusseinmolly Says:

I could possibly accept the rape jokes and the spousal insults as anecdotal, since no actual video exists of these events (this doesn’t, however, mean that I automatically disbelieve they could be true).

But McCain’s opposition to the Ledbetter Fair Pay Act did him in, as far as I’m concerned. I cannot imagine any way that I would ever support McCain after that. And I cannot imagine how ANY thinking woman could.

Hillary Clinton wasn’t dissed for being a woman by her fellow Democrats. The Dems treated her like a viable candidate, and she got as muddy as she would have gotten had she been a man. She wasn’t given any special treatment, but she wasn’t hammered any harder, either. And she gave as good as she got. The ones who displayed the sexism were Republicans, neocons, and conservative talk show hosts.

And now Fiorina is attempting to spin McCain as “the answer” for Hillary fans still stinging from their loss. Good luck — they may be stinging now, but they’ll have time to take a good look at McCain and they’ll see Obama comes a great deal closer to Hillary on the issues than McCain does.

Fiorina must have been taking lessons from Dana Perino on how to tell outrageous lies and maintain a straight face.

  35. margerine Says:

Hillary Clinton has been around giving her own version of what happened and what she currently wants to do… how could anyone on McCain’s side pretend to know more about it than she herself does? lol

  36. McWars Says:

John McCain shows respect to women, unless

    (1) they’re disabled from a car wreck
    (2) they put on a few pounds
    (3) they fail to apply their makeup to the right consistency
    (4) they complain about their pay
    (5) they reach the age of 50 or fail to look 20 years younger
    (6) they stop buying him homes.

  37. sectionop92 Says:

McCain uses the word “b!tch” with loving affection, understanding and compassion…everytime he tells Cindy to mind her own beeswax on where he’s been, to get the new 24 year old female intern/lobbyist to come over to his desk or when he gets frustrated with the said 24 year old intern/lobbyist and throws his drink on her blouse.

If it wasn’t for John McCain’s “respect for women”, divorce lawyers and some bankers wouldn’t have anything to do with themselves in some areas of Arizona and D.C.

  38. tom Says:

I don’t think the ape-rape joke is funny at all. We have been living with the punchline of such an act for the past eight years. If only that ape hadn’t impregnated Babsy when she visited the zoo, GDumbya would never have been born and we wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in.

Actually she was… I saw it myself. She was given very special treatment and when Obama engaged in the same behaviors she was called a b***h by fellow Democrats and he was called strong.

You might want to look at the Steinem video. Or better yet, how about the youtube video of a Steinem interview about Hillary’s treatment where the Obama person posts it with this tagline “Gloria Steinem is a lying feminist c**t.”.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaaMtIBUJ2s

This was typical of the treatment, but if you didn’t see it, it was entirely because you didn’t want to and not because it didn’t happen.

Actually many Hillary supporters feel as shafted by their fellow democrats as McCain - that’s the problem. This is why they are so close in the polls. Trying to ignore it, deny it, downplay it, and belittling Hillary supporters just feeds the fury and drives more to McCain. The Obama supporters constant shrill attack on Hillary and her supporters is a major reason Obama is tanking. It’s time for that to stop if you want to reach Hillary supporters that are still open.

  40. McWars Says:

RHF, you’ve mistaken us for someone who gives a shit about the concerns of a neurotic clown. Why don’t you go ahead and sign off from the place you’re not wanted?

Hillary Clinton is not backing any type of abandonment of the nominee; she just signed her vote for Obama at the convention.

Don’t go away mad. Just go away.

  41. dasm Says:

Sure. Calling your wife a C*nt and a trollop, voting against women’s rights, committing adultery while your wife is ill, then dumping her for someone richer– this is the Repub way of showing “respect” towards women. Fiorina must be an idiot.

  42. ljm Says:

She reminds me of a bobblehead doll (watch her) with bobblehead thinking. Great choice for Repub vice……

  43. dasm Says:

And never forget how much Repubs have always HATED the Clintons. For McCain, or any other Repub, to pretend to show anything but disdain for them, is to blatantly reveal - yet again - the Repub hypocrisy, or their willingness to sacrifice any principles they have to wh*re themselves out in order to get votes, I don’t know which. Either way, they are repugnant.

  44. McWars Says:

This is why they are so close in the polls.

The polls are close because the polling firms wouldn’t have any regular business if the real sentiment was uncovered — McCain lagging far behind Obama. With the economy as the number one issue, and with the Republican party as the incumbent party, that’s a reasonable argument.

Trying to ignore it, deny it, downplay it, and belittling Hillary supporters just feeds the fury and drives more to McCain.

We’re not belittling Clinton supporters, we’re simply belittling you, the stubborn kind. Hillary has made just about every case to draw her supporters to Barack Obama. There’s not much more she can do; the ones who still refuse to get behind the party simply love drama. (Hey! That’s what brings you here!)

It’s fine to criticize the Sexism of McCain and it’s true. But until the Democrats recognize the sexism of the last 9 months and apologize and make amends for it, a lot of women are going to vote against the Democrats for being hypocrites. pure and simple.

And I don’t say this because I think I am a martyr or I enjoy feeling like one — I say it because I’ve had some frustrating conversations, mostly with men, who think one of two things:

    1) They don’t see the coverage as sexist or offensive altogether, or
    2) They do think it’s “a little” sexist but Hillary’s such a uber-rich, out-of-touch, shady Republicrat, anyway, that it’s just a sexist tint to a legitimate criticism of her smarmy ways.

Are there women out there that are stupid enough to believe this crap?
    ____________________________________________________

Yes. “Stupid” comes in both sexes.

  69. tom Says:

Midget sex. Mmmmmmmmmmm. Kind of like what daryll and good_golly have . . . “mental midget” sex.

  70. Buckie Boy Says:

No, RHF, it’s your constant rants that seem like the posting of a lunatic, well at least they read that way to me.

And I have not seen or heard the Obama camp slam Hillary the way you seem to think they have.

Posters may have, them I don’t care about, but from Obama, not so much.

Get over it and and get with Hillary and support Obama, I got over Dennis getting offed by the MSM, you should too.

  71. House of Roberts Says:

You know, there comes a time when one’s chosen candidate, by their own actions, takes the road of honor and dignity, and by that example, inspires their followers to do the same.

But more likely there are women who are happy to hear that McCain is considering their issues - which is a lot more positive message than they’re hearing from the Obamaheads “vote for us you witches” like McWars and the other MORONS are spewing…
    ________________________________________________________

ALL candidates have supporters who are hostile and vile while expressing their passion for their candidate. Obama has some, Hillary has some, and all the Republicans certainly do.

However, it’s a mistake to judge a candidate by what their most hateful of supporters say. If, for example, Hillary was to be judged solely on your vitriol, she wouldn’t have received as many votes as she did. I remember you called me a “c*nt” here for no reason other than I didn’t blindly support your candidate. You also referred to me as sexist, and I assure you I am as great a feminist as you’ll ever see. But I still make my voting choices without regard to sex, color, religion, or sexual orientation. And Hillary would have received my support had she become the nominee.

I recommend two things for you. First, remove the mote from your own eye before criticizing others. Second, try focusing on Obama instead of his supporters (you might start with his website). And then, if you prefer to vote for somebody else, go ahead — that’s one of the many things that’s great about this country.

Now, about Hillary — I didn’t always agree with her campaign tactics, and she really hit below the belt more than once. Still, she fought like a tiger and proved she’s no weakling. I have always been impressed with her intelligence, hard work, and the fact that she does her homework, and that didn’t change during the campaign. And she has certainly made it easier for the next woman who wants to be taken seriously as a candidate.

She has earned the right to a prime-time speech at the convention, to have her name put into nomination, and for her supporters to be heard.

Now, about McCain — I believe that all but the most stupid of women will ultimately see that McCain may spew a lot of pandering talk their way, but his actions don’t indicate that he is their friend.

    Zed Lefflin Says:

Showing respect to some women is really hard, I, myself am a victim of a horrible hydraulic box compactor accident I had down at Walmart a few years back on the night shift. My leg has never been the same since so I am a cripple. My wife is also handicapped (speech impediment) and is a midget. Let me tell you they can run really fast. When something would go down between us I would take off running as fast as my bad leg would allow, she could catch me in about 10 steps, kick my good leg out from under me and face down in the dirt I would go, then she would proceed to kick the crap out of me for what seamed like hrs. I soon learned to wear protective equipment at all times, helmet, mouth piece, chest protector, shin guards and the like. Also carried a stun gun just in case. Why did I stay??????? Midget sex! Its absolutely the wildest.

So when you bring a dwarf woman to your place and play “They Live” on your VCR, do you get anywhere at all? Because I hear them dwarf women don’t play to the “midget” stereotypes.

Fiorina: McCain Has Always Shown ‘Respect’ Towards Hillary Clinton And All Women

John McCain made this odious joke about Chelsea Clinton back in ‘98. Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno.” …

Yes, that certainly sounds like respect towards Hillary Clinton.

Didn’t you know Carly’s middle name is “C*nt” and her coy nickname is “Trollop”? What’s the problem?

    As usual.

  77. drago Says:

No Way. No How. NO McCAIN.

What part of that do you not understand Carly? No wonder you got shit-canned by HP.

  78. Bilbo Hussein Baggins Says:

This is why they are so close in the polls.

So RHF, you are still living in your fantasy that disgruntled Hillary Voters are what is tipping the polls? You have already been told why the “polls” are so close.

I have a question for you. If the Democrats out vote the Republicons, how close do you think it will be.

The truth of the matter is Obama doesn’t need disgruntled Hillary voters to win. I know that hurts your ego, but it is a fact. Besides, anyone who was TRULY a Hillary supporter who still says they will vote for McBush, after Hillary’s speech last night, are not nor never were they truly Hillary supporters.

I suspect that the in his heart, RHF is nothing more than a bigot. That is the only reason why I can see anyone who is in any way to the left of center could refuse to vote for Obama.

  79. Bilbo Hussein Baggins Says:

Hey folks, if we all flat RHF, maybe TP will finally make this odious troll go away. I for one am royally sick of his hate filled rants.

  80. zuch Says:

Interviewed on Fox News after Clinton’s speech last night, Fiorina said Clinton had been “dissed in the way that she was treated” and that McCain knows that women “expect to be respected”…

So old-school. “Divide and conquer”, they’re hoping. Might be fun to dredge up some old McIWillDoAnythingToGetElected speeches where he disses the RRW foamers (and his new speeches where he stabs his “Straight-Talk-Express True Believers” in the back)….

    Cheers,

  81. IBTunion4obama Says:

Yeah, like the time McCain voted against the giving women equal pay as men. That’s showing a lot of respect (sarcasm).

  82. madstork123 Says:

Wow, Carly Lies, Condi Lies, I can see a great future in the Republican party for both.

  83. Winski Says:

Even her old limo driver in the Bay Area thought she was a lunatic..now she has only proven he was right!!

  84. 1984 Says:

“And John McCain will work for every single woman’s vote. And that is a sign of respect.”

Fishing votes does not equal respect.

  85. darladooner Says:

was hillary “dissed” for the veep slot, or were “all women” dissed?

herein lies the inherent and ongoing problem of feminism.
