Palin’s financial portfolio managed by Smith Barney.

Yesterday at the Democratic convention, a former Republican named Barney Smith — who lost his job because it was shipped overseas — spoke of the need for a “president who puts Barney Smith before Smith Barney.” Watch it:

On the Wonk Room, Ben Furnas reports that, ironically, Gov. Sarah Palin’s (R) financial portfolio is managed by none other than financial giant Smith Barney, which helped finance Enron Corp. The “reform-minded” Palin has now signed up to vouch for McCain’s Norquist agenda of $300 billion in tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy.

Perfect! You just can’t make this stuff up.

This poor woman is in so far over her head, she’s looking up expecting to see a glass ceiling with cracks, and all she’s seeing is a manhole cover, and McIIIrd’s butt crack.

rebublicans would rather win an election than make the economy strong. Couldn’t they find a r that wasn’t ethically challenged, that isn’t being investigated? Apparently not.

Any day now I expect that ticket to go black faced to pander to the minority vote.

TP, you must have been building an inventory of this stuff for the past week now. I am very impressed! Good job . . . but please slow down a bit. I need to catch my breath between laughing fits with each new revelation about this bimbo.

  8. Zooey says:

I don’t care who you are, that’s funny right there. ;)

  9. McWars says:

    TP. YOU. ARE. GRAND.

    THIS IS…PERFECT!

Many blessings to Barney Smith. I’m so glad our party handed the microphone to some of the greatest Americans last night, sadly overlooked.

I vow to NEVER vote republican in my lifetime — county, state and federal. I don’t care what’s “trendy.” The democratic party is the party so enduring to OUR LIVES.

  10. Bob says:

This VP pick will work great since women like being used. Doesn’t McCain have a joke about that?

  11. Marie says:

John McCain has only met Sarah twice – and he has selected her. Is his judgment that good?
Didn’t we already endure a guy who thought his judgment was so accurate he could see into someone’s soul?
One year ago, Palin was quoted as saying she hasn’t paid that much attention to Iraq? She was also quoted as saying she isn’t really sure what the tuies are of a Vice President?

The bar for her is set so low, that she could be a sleeper and be an asset to McCain, regardless of her thin resume`.

It is quite funny now, though, to watch the repugs try to defend what looks like the riskiest choice since Stockdale.

There are lots of rumors flying about her and her family, tho.

Could be the list was short of those that wanted to run with mccain, even in the repubs arena. Oh, it was mentioned that repubs are “making history” selecting a woman V.P. guess they forgot about Ferarro and Mondale. Boy, the repubs think there is no one in this world but them.
My conservative friends are complaining about the cost of last nights convention it was obscene. Obscenity is the last 8 years of bush !

  13. RobinPDX says:

That was cute. We need more! :)

  14. texaslady says:

Can anyone tell me what was Palin’s career prior to her sports days ? How did she earn her portfolio ?

  15. Marie says:

Palin is a blank slate except for her ultra-conservative social views – who will brief her on the important matters of the economy, the war, energy? Who else but Cheney and the neocons, right?

  16. robert verdi says:

    Lame line of attack.

The PUMAs are really only Operation Chaos Rush followers. Their Anti-Obama vitriole is onyl the Reichwing having a new venue through which to spew their bile and hate.
TRUE “Hillary” supporters ONLY WANTED HILLARY. They wanted her as Pres, and then when consession was on the table, they wanted her as VP. NONE of the true DEM Hillarists would vote gender specific. It is anathema to the whole Hillary mantra. It was not HER sex, it was her capabilities. To now think that these Hillarists would flock to a poor excuse for a Repuikkkicant Hillary, is laughable. To do so, is totally opposite of Hillary’s message and policies.
It is not the PERSON it is the POLICIES.

We don’t care for Palin BECAUSE she is a woman, we despise her for her policies IN SPITE Of being a woman.

This will show the Hillarists of the true deperate straits the GOP is in.

Support Hillary for Supreme Court, and SCREW THE GOP for the next 20-30 years.

Another example of Sen. Obama’s smart campaign.

Keep the hankies handy Sen. Biden during the deba..debate?…HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Please woman don’t shake or cry…jeezzz…and don’t play the gonzo card either…hehehehehehe

  20. Game of Life says:

This is proof that the repugs will continue to make a mockery out of democracy. They have shredded and spat on your constitution. Cause they would never do that to mine.

repugs can’t have the background of Sen. Obama’s and many, many other Americans. I know repugs would never want to come from such backgrounds.

repugs did you see the crowds overseas and here? Are you blind? you would sell your mother for those numbers.

    run rabbit run

If this election about judgment, the choice of Sarah Pahin shows poor judgment on McCain’s part.
Any intelligent person knows when you choose to have a baby at 43 you have a very high probability of having a child with Downs Syndrome. She used poor judgment not using birth control. Would she use better judgment dealing with our economy? Would she use better judgment dealing with our enemies?
I for one am not willing to take a chance.

    Whoa there whiteman.

Do you believe black face will cause a laugh from people of color?

I do know racist whites find it amusing. Do you?

  23. Game of Life says:

I bet she has some pics out there.

Do one become Port-A-Potty Queen first? Or does one go straight for the big time?

Her hair looks like it’s from the evening ware segment of a “beauty” pageant. What a airhead.

    Ridiculous! Mockery! A Sham!

  24. Marie says:

I saw a PUMA rep on TV today – she was rabid.

Do they even consider that Obama could pick her for the SCOTUS and she’d still be there long after he leaves office?
