In March 2007, John McCain’s vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said: “I’ve been so focused on state government, I haven’t really focused much on the war in Iraq. I heard on the news about the new deployments, and while I support our president, Condoleezza Rice and the administration, I want to know that we have an exit plan in place; I want assurances that we are doing all we can to keep our troops safe.” (HT: Andrew Sullivan)
SILLY RABBIT......AN EXIT STRATEGY SURRENDER IS FOR KIDS.
August 30th, 2008 at 10:50 amJohn McCain has cut his own throat.
The MSM Corporate-owned media might be trying to bandage his gaping wound by ignoring the facts about Palin, but mainstream Republicans don't seem to have the motivation to help save him anymore.
August 30th, 2008 at 10:51 amhow could she not be aware and send one of her chidrens off to iraq as a warrior? what kinda mother is that?
August 30th, 2008 at 10:51 amThat's ok, she's a republican so it doesn't matter what she said, or believed or did. What matters is that she's a republican. the media lapdogs won't bother with research or facts or even endless speculation about unfounded rumors, they'll parrot the talking points they're fed.

Iraq's freedom equals oil for China:

She's the kind of mother who would fly 15 hours after her water broke to give birth even though that's incredibly dangerous for the child, the child she already knew had downs syndrome. The child she is currently ignoring.
Republican Family Values!
August 30th, 2008 at 10:56 amI haven’t really focused much on the war in Iraq
Translation: I know absolutely nothing about foreign policy, to the point that I'm utterly unqualified to assume the role of president should it become necessary because after all, I was only selected to fill the role of token female on a ticket that has nothing else to offer America.

August 30th, 2008 at 10:57 am"I haven’t really focused much on the war in Iraq."
Because it's all about me and I'm busy with denying association with Ted Stevens and damage control.
August 30th, 2008 at 11:00 am"I want assurances that we are doing all we can to keep our troops safe.”
Umm , hate to tell you this , but the only way to make certain of that is to NOT illegally and stupidly invade and occupy a sovereign nation without cause or provocation...........
August 30th, 2008 at 11:01 amContrast Obama/Biden with mcccain/palin
Two very intelligent and dedicated leaders with pedigrees to prove it. Not only that, they look and act like leaders. They look like the kind of people I want to represent me and our country.
They look you in the eye and address every issue that they know is bothering us....re fisa and the war were addressed directly by obama in his speech.
Honest and open how refreshing.
mcain/palin on the other hand are just more of the same last 8 years. Clearly mccain cannot distance himself from bush with anyone.
His deceptiveness and different stories depending on who he is talking to are transparent and even those people must be noticing it by now.
He would represent us as a dottering old gw bush. She is as one poster has already noted, just dan quayle in drag. Not very impressive as statesmen, mccain hardly knows what to say unless it is well scripted and the audience is chosen for thier guaranteed acceptance of whatever he says.
Contrast that with all of the democratic speeches at the convention. They all were so intelligent and engaging. Not lecturing and telling us how we have failed them as mccain's group does.....you know, the imaginary recession and the whining folks who have lost everything after working thier lives to get ahead...
August 30th, 2008 at 11:23 amMavericks, mavericks everywhere, and not a thought to think! Wow POW when did MAVERICK become such an admirable trait?
August 30th, 2008 at 11:30 amTime to challenge" Maverick" since it boasts of non-cooperation, and ornery. Diplomacy, anyone? Romantic, perhaps for wild horse lovers but when we're talking about horse's asses it tells a different story. Maverick, POW, war hero, hot tempered, stubborn, and now we've got two mavericks. How many of these critters are there in the old corral?
It's ok if she hasn't been focusing too much on Iraq: She is a Republican.
She will travel to Iraq, safely stay in the green zone for, uh, oh, 4 hours, then claim she is an expert on the Middle East.
That's the Republican way: They think a cursory knowledge on a topic makes them an authority. Why, they will claim expertise even when they have no clue what they're talking about.
August 30th, 2008 at 11:35 amone step away from resident wasn't an issue when the last tard was selected (twice). we got a moran on first ticket slot that knew absolutly nothing of foreign policy or foreign leaders or how to even converse inteligently with other human beings without smirking...................was michelle bachman too busy to exploit for the vp roll? or maybe drilling in alaska holds way more sway than the rapture for repubtard voters?
August 30th, 2008 at 11:44 amWe did this topic yesterday and it got some 250 responses.
August 30th, 2008 at 12:24 pmWe are seeing comments in the media to the effect that "Sarah Palin is no Hillary." One comforting aspect of her candidacy for VP, however, is that she's also no Cheney.
August 30th, 2008 at 12:29 pmPalin said some interesting things before she was the VP pick.
August 30th, 2008 at 12:48 pmThis woman's son is going over there for god sakes. And she isn't verse on Iraq? What a airhead.
August 30th, 2008 at 1:15 pmShe hasn't really focused much on the Central Front in the War on Terror, which McCain calls a "struggle between humanity and inhumanity"

Didn't you really mean to say, "He's cut his own wattles"????

Indeed, a "struggle between humanity and inhumanity, between civility and incivility, and between stupidity and instupdity..."
August 30th, 2008 at 1:25 pmLet me get this straight,
palin as a Govenor of the state of Alaska does not have any of the following;
-Gaurd/reserve troops deployed to Iraq.
-Gaurd/ reserve equipment deployed to Iraq that the state cannot use in a state of emergency which is one of its dependencies of the state.
-Military funds trimming to the states to go to the Occupation effort didn't effect Alaska?
-No, I mean zero troops deployed to Iraq have returned in bags, or without major body parts?
-No strain on those military families?
Has Palin explained why she is for the Democrat's call for "time tables for withdrawal"?
No one from the republican party has called her anti American for her timetable position? Not even Lindsey Graham?
Yet, the republican party as a whole repudiates Sen Chuck Hagel for calling for time tables? Odd....
