Like President Gump cares about Gustov. He wouldnt even cut his vacation short when Katrina hit. As long as only poor people were dying a couple million of them could get wiped out by Gustov and it wouldnt make Bush change his breakfast plans. The GOP knows he is political poison and they dont want him any where NEAR the convention. You’d think that, if they really believed their own alternate version of reality (Bush is the best president ever, the US economy is in great shape, Iraq is a shining example of democracy, etc.) they’d be parading those two like contestants at a beauty pageant.

Only the bottom of the barrel -that’d be the “conservative” visitors at ThinkProgress- can believe Pres Bush’s policies have been anything but an absolute disaster.

I bet Bush calls Congress back early to work on energy and does so live via satellite from Camp David. He’ll cite Gustav’s devastation to oil rigs in the Gulf and high gas prices as a result of the storm.

And of course, Sarah Palin will be the energy Goddess. If anyone heard runner up Tim Pawlenty on Grease the Press, she’s intended to be the leech that drains Obama in the experience arena. I’d like a parasite free government for a change…

Instead McCain will try to use the Hurricane as a photo op, by showing up in the area, using the police for security, when they will be needed for recovery and rescue efforts.

I don’t know what happened to my post but the jest of it was that I fear them too. I think they have played their best hand though by invading Iraq to get bush back in the whitehouse for a second term and it won’t work for them again.

A reporter for the Anchorage daily, Gregg Erickson, even did an online chat with the Washington Post, in which he revealed that Palin’s approval rating in the state was not the much-touted 80%, but 65% and sinking — and that among journalists who followed her it might be in the “teens.” He added: “I have a hard time seeing how her qualifications stack up against the duties and responsibilities of being president…. I expect her to stick with simple truths. When asked about continued American troop presence in Iraq, she said she knows only one thing about that (I paraphrase): no one has attacked the American homeland since George Bush took the war to Iraq.”

It seems that he’s finally won over most of the Clinton supporters who were undecided. I’m pretty certain it didn’t help that McCain picked anti-woman Sarah Palin.

His choice is actually doing the opposite of what he intended. My 64-year-old mother supported Clinton and now she is so anti-McCain because of Palin that she’s carping to everyone she knows about how much Palin hurts the women’s movement.

If McShitstain should succumb to the rigors of his ‘election,’ I’d fully anticipate she’d name Dick Cheney as her VP, then resign to spend more time with her and her daughter’s children.

Unlikely scenario since Obama is so far ahead now and is likely to gain ground as time passes but even if it happened her selection would have to be approved by congress……cheney won’t get approved for sure.
