Sometimes you just have to go with the convention you have, not the convention you wish you had...

Jealous of the Democrats' succesful convention much, DeLay?

Why is anyone still interviewing this felon?

Many repugs are secretly grateful that attention is in LA now and not the RNC; it will help hide that so many of them were not going to attend anyway; that Bush/Cheney are a team-albatross around the necks of so many incumbents; that McCain is not their first choice for prez, but was chosen because he was the last one standing; now they can all stay home to devote their attention to the part of the country in need right now, and look like they are sacrificing for the greater good.

To Tom Delay... just where did all that money go... to Abramoff then to the Republican Governors...
Looks like Sarah Palin has some 'splainin' to do about some illegal campaign contributions during her run for governor.

What a day this has been. Earlier I watched a discussion on C-SPAN where Tucker Carlson admits that newscasters should be more phony in order to be perceived as being fair and balanced. It is not that they should present the news without the slant of the prism that they look through, just that they are not doing a very good job of hiding their bias. What I got from Tucker is that it is OK to be biased, because he believes people expect it.

Then the announcement that the 16 or 17 year old daughter is pregnant and McLame knew about it. Unbelievable!

The republiscums are indeed scared of the appearance their convention would make compared to the Democratic Convention and have abandoned ship for a hurricane a thousand miles away.

Most recently during a commercial on MSNBC I surfed to Faux News to see Faux interviewing Emergency Management officials and Governors who all were spouting republiscum talking points about the "Republican Governors of these red states are..." It is sickening listeneng to these imbiciles anymore.

It's probably best for the Re-thugs so they don't embarrass themselves too much. I was just dying to her Bush and Cheney preach christian right-wing values and then me scratching my head thinking, "where are the strong right-wing family values on Palin's unwed 17 yr old daughter?"

spencers mom Says: "This is the first poll out that includes both veeps. Most interesting number, to me, is that support from Independents went from McStain +12 to Obama +6 (now 43 - 37) which is a full 18 point flip."

Mom,

You gotta understand that all the previous polls just asked Rethuglicans. The one you reference includes the "Independents" because so many of the Repukes changed registration the sample size got too small. Wait until the final poll on November 4. I Gay-ron-tee there won't be a Repuke in sight.

See? You can take what some people say and paraphrase it to say something more truthful than their original words!

Why isn't Karl Rove in jail?

In 2003, he participated in the outing of a covert CIA officer, putting him in the same traitorous criminal class as Aldrich Ames and Robert Hansen.

After New Orleans flooded following Hurricane Katrina's landfall in late 2005, Bush, Cheney and Gonzales put Karl Rove in charge of the Republican political response to the disaster.

Karl Rove immediately launched a smear campaign against both the Democratic governor of Lousiana and the Democratic mayor of New Orleans...while at the same time he worked with DHS director Michael Chertoff in withholding federal disaster relief from the dying in the New Orleans.

Michael Brown, head of FEMA, and the FEMA disaster coordinator in Baton Rouge LA, were cut out of the loop. They tried to get desperately-needed disaster relief supplies and personnel to the dying in New Orleans, but they were blocked by higher-ups in the Bush administration.

We now know that Karl Rove, along with Bush, Cheney, Gonzales, Chertoff and probably even Rumsfeld, were trying to blackmail Democratic Louisiana Gov. Blanco into turning over to them control of her state's national guard units, federalizing the disaster relief effort in Louisiana, with the Bushites handling security, and no doubt awarding Blackwater, and their pal Eric Prince, with lucrative, no-bid security contracts.

Recently, former Louisiana Gov. Blanco revealed that a full five days after Katrina hit and New Orleans flooded, on Friday, she was escorted onto Air Force One to see President George W. Bush. He demanded, once again, that she turn over control of her state's national guard to him and his administration. She refused, again.

A year after this insidious blackmail attempt of the Louisiana governor, the Bush administration got the Republican-controlled Congress to enact legislation giving Bush the sole authority, following his declaration of an emergency, over any state's security apparatus.

All fifty state governors, both Republicans and Democrats, protested vigorously against this legislation as it was being considered, but to no avail. It passed.

Now, the imperial (and criminal) President Bush, after declaring an emergency, can send in federal troops (and Blackwater) into any state, completely bypassing that state's governor or any locally-elected officials.

Hooray! Mission Accomplished! Er, that is, Fascist Mission Accomplished!

BTW, are we still a Republic?

What is really unfortunate for the USA is that people like DeLay and Rove and their ilk are never called into question by the media. They are radicals--not Republicans. But even Democrats make no distinctions in their public statements. We give them far too much validity. And that is just how they plan to take over the country. Elections--how quaint.

On another front, Palin has just hired a private attorney to defend herself and members of her staff in the investigation of the abuse of power charges.

Let's see, this is Day 4 on the national scene, and we are drowning in Palin scandals!

I'm thinking someone handed J. Sydney the wrong list to choose from.

On topic, Delay, blah blah blah, who cares.

OT, there is a new CBS poll that has Obama/Biden eight points ahead of McStain/Palin (poll is 48 - 40)

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/01/opinion/polls/main4405106.shtml

This is the first poll out that includes both veeps. Most interesting number, to me, is that support from Independents went from McStain +12 to Obama +6 (now 43 - 37) which is a full 18 point flip.

I seriously doubt that, hurricane or not, the GOP convention was poised to flip these numbers back to McStain.

We are having a triple-decker triple-disaster triple-layer sandwich this week: Gustuv/GOP-RNC/Hanna. Tasty, huh?

It sounds like Mrs. McMoosekiller should be staying home full time to be with her kids. A four-mouth-old baby with Down's syndrome? And her daughter is pregnant? Her family is a very complicated mess and she is busy preaching right-wing "family values?" And she wants to spend the next two months campaigning in the Lower 48? Oy veh.

samsuncle Says: "Would someone please tell me how to comment on a post."

With great skill, dexterity, profound insight, and anti Rethuglican. Being polite to all but trolls and always recommending my comments will help.

Secondly, you did just fine above. Just cut, paste, and change it at will in the next comment box.

WYSIWYG (Whay You See Is What You Get)is an acronym for a computer programming method that is essentially just that--what you see will be the final product. It may work fine in computer programming but in Rethuglican Politics it just ain't so. They are so afraid that you will see what is really there they consistently paint word pictures to change what you see. While it may be true that the hand is quicker than they eye, the Repukes always ignore that old adage that states: "A Rethuglican's mouth is NEVER quicker than a Democrat's brain."

Given that so many of the right wing fundies were praying for a storm to break up Obama's acceptance speech, I don't really think that dems should have to apologize.
