Palin Served As Director Of 527 Group Called ‘Ted Stevens Excellence In Public Service, Inc.’

stevenspalinbig.jpgThe Washington Post’s Matthew Mosk reports that Sarah Palin “began building clout in her state’s political circles in part by serving as a director of an independent political group organized by the now embattled Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens“:

Palin’s name is listed on 2003 incorporation papers of the “Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service, Inc.,” a 527 group that could raise unlimited funds from corporate donors. The group was designed to serve as a political boot camp for Republican women in the state. She served as one of three directors until June 2005, when her name was replaced on state filings.

Last October on Fox News Sunday, John McCain said, “The 527s need to be eliminated.”

Stevens is hardly a model of “excellence in public service.” He was indicted in July “on seven felony counts of failing to disclose gifts that he received from an oil services company,” VECO. That same oil company has ties to Palin, contributing 10 percent of her total campaign fund when she ran for lieutenant governor in 2002.

After Stevens was indicted, Palin vocally defended him. In turn, Stevens endorsed Palin as McCain’s vice presidential pick last week, stating that he has worked with her “for over a decade.”

ROFLMAO — this is just TOO ironically hysterical.

What makes it even worse is that the slimy old cretin just won an election in Alaska.

Now that the nation is vetting Ms. Palin, there is just way too much surfacing for her to stay in the race.

However, this is how I see her exit occuring:

Palin tearfully announces that the “left wing smear machine” has traumatized her daughter, and she needs to spend time with her now “devistated” family. Bristol has a well-timed miscarriage very soon, a result of the stress she’s had to endure.

The Fundies cry FOUL and circle the dog sleds around Ms. Palin.

Newly Sainted Palin drops from sight, but McCain gets the sympathy vote from the Fundies and the Japanese still fighting the war, i.e. the Hillary Lunes who will see this as yet another “qualified” woman getting run out of the race by men (read: Obama)

How Rovian, and how sick that my mind now works in this way.

  7. tom says:

Well, there goes the whole “reformer” fiction! What we likely have here in Failin’ Palin is a cagey conniver who figured she could advance her political career by splitting the republican competition and playing off a fictitious female maverick persona. Not a very difficult task in a corrupt republican snakepit like Alaska.

The bloom is off the rose for Failin’ Palin, though. She’s trying to ride with the big boys now but she’s not capable of saddling up. Just like GDumbya and McNumbNuts, Failin’ Palin is all hat and no cattle.

I suspect you may be right. But, the calculation won’t pay off because he has done himself more harm than good by nominating Palin. First people are questioning his judgement and second, people are questioning whether or not he really made the choice (meaning he is not in charge of his own campaign). Either way, it doesn’t bode well for McBush.

Ok, now, that’s a very scary scenario and just devious enough to have been hatched by Rove. I sure hope that isn’t how it plays out.

Anyone with a half an ounce of brains would blame her for the media attention her daughter will be getting. She had to know about the rumors about her pregnancy and yet she chose to take the VP offer anyway. Didn’t she realize that would be subjecting her daughter to unwanted press attention? Also, if her daughter really is pregnant, why did she wait now to announce it? There’s something really rotten here.

I actually think fear has clouded Karl’s brain functions. He’s not used to scheming under this sort of pressure.

Cons have a hard time admitting they were wrong. I expect Palin to give her acceptance speech in two days and for the MSM to simply ignore what the bloggers have uncovered about her.

In fact, I would go so far as to say that this choice wasn’t McCain’s pick at all, that if he was in control of himself, he would’ve choosen Lieberman to be his running mate…But the powers that now pull the strings for McCain would never allow that to happen.Being the “maverick” that he claims to be, he should have told Rove, or whomever…to shove it. THAT’S what he would have done back in his REAL maverick days! Now, he’s just a tired old puppet with a big ring in his nose so they can drag him around by it…and Sarah…she was used too. 58. desertflower1 says:

  59. desertflower1 says:

Pete…Oh yeah, and that VETTING THING might have helped:)

  60. pete says:

Heck! Ms. Palin’s best qualification, so far, is that her family demonstrates the pitfalls of depending on religion alone for moral guidance. I wonder if anyone in the “librul media” will ask her if she, “taught Bristol about the birds and bees or, just told her she would go to Hell if she did it”.

Speaking of which. Will unwed mothers be Raptured? That’s one of the questions the psychochristians are occupying themselves with Today.

  61. pete says:

Desertflower. I find it difficult to believe Ms. Palin sees her selection as being “used”. Quite the contrary. Her political career demonstrates an ability to see political realities. I would bet that she is using her candidacy to enhance her standing back home and gain a national identity. I’m guessing that she sees it as a way to either, become Governor for life or, she’s grooming herself as Ted Steven’s replacement.

  62. desertflower1 says:

It’s hard to imagine such an inept campaign not doing serious harm to the real “enemies” of America. Those being the criminals who hold the reins of power.
