Don’t the creationists believe that god gave humans a brain with the ability to understand science?
People who are true christians should be embarrassed that this fringe group is giving all of them a bad name; it’s bad enough that religion demands that you have faith in a spirit in the sky who controls every breath and wing flutter on this tiny rock in the limitless universe, but they also have to deal with their bretheren who proudly display their ignorance denying scientific evidence.

Governor Pywacky? Sounds like the name of Kim Novak’s cat in the movie, Bell, Book and Candle. Sarah Palin has zero (0) foreign policy experience and she is hypocritical about the notion of choice. Apparently, her 17-year-old daughter got to “choose” to carry her unborn baby to term. Ms. Palin wants to deny other women’s daughters this same right to “choose.” Apparently it’s the do-as-I-say, but not do-as-I-do right wing crap philosophy. Maybe Ms. Palin should just stay home and take care of her children. Isn’t that her first responsibility in life? Tend to those that you have brought into this world and leave the preaching to others…

Since when was Palin an energy expert? What about hundreds and thousands of scientists who agree climate change is essentially man-made? The only policy related issue I know of Palin is she supports drilling in ANWR. Otherwise, I know that she was runner up in a beauty pageant, was a mayor of a town with 8,000 citizens, she mislead the public about her daughter, and obviously failed to pound her ‘christian right-wing values’ into her daughter’s head. I’m so glad Palin is on McCain’s ticket. muahahaha

My theory, Bilbo, is that they are not talking to “us” anymore. All they can hope at this point, is to keep the hardcore 20%ers in the fold. They know that the vast, moderate, majority is lost to them so they are just going to feed the morons their talking points until the centrists become complacent again. In 20 years or so.

If she were an “energy expert”, and sane, she would realize the obvious fact that conservation is the first step in any practical energy policy. We could eliminate our foreign oil imports, many times over, if we eliminated waste.

Efficient bulbs, less driving, and a new generation of vehicles which get 50-100mpg, will do more than anything we can do to the supply side of the equation. And the only things keeping that from being general knowledge are greed and profound stupidity.

But, the myth of perpetual increase in consumption has been exploded. Once the market pressure hit the tipping point? world energy consumption started down. And I don’t see oil prices coming down enough to change that trend any time soon.
