Today, the campaign of Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) criticized Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) for saying that McCain is “out of sync with the whole rest of the world.” McCain spokesman Ben Porritt said that while McCain “has called upon Americans to serve and assist our fellow citizens in the gulf states,” Biden “clearly has no limits when it comes to political attacks.” Today, however, McCain adviser Karl Rove took the attacks even further at the GOP convention, calling Biden a “big blowhard doofus.”

Wow.. what scathing, in-depth commentary.
Hey, Backdown… care to comment?
September 1st, 2008 at 6:49 pmomg, the Democrats are BIG FAT MEANYHEADS!
brought to you by the Infantile, I mean Republican Party…
September 1st, 2008 at 6:49 pmOh, yeah? Well, you’re a poopyhead!
September 1st, 2008 at 6:54 pmRove calls Biden a ‘big blowhard doofus.’
- - That’s the party of Lincoln, folks. You stay classy, GOP.
September 1st, 2008 at 6:54 pmMcCain doesn’t get extra kudos for doing the right thing (for once).
And a verbal attack like that from Rove? I know first graders with better smack talk. Shouldn’t he be wearing his “American” hat…because right now isn’t the time to be launching verbal attacks at party leaders? Boy, give the GOP any amount of slack on the rope of life and they find a way to put it around their necks!
September 1st, 2008 at 6:55 pmLike Biden cares what that closeted, treasonous d-bag has to say. Actually, why does anyone care what he says.
If Karl says something stupid in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does the fat pig actually make a sound??
September 1st, 2008 at 6:55 pmOh, THAT’S gotta hurt!
I’m not inviting Karl to my birthday party!
Enough Rovian sh*t, here’s the latest Gallop/USA Today poll that has Barack/Joe breaking the magical 50% mark!
http://www.usatoday.com/ news/ politics/ election2008/ 2008-09-01-poll-monday_N.htm?loc=interstitialskip
50% vs. 43% !!!!!
Guess that must mean our doofus is tracking better than their doofus.
PEACE
September 1st, 2008 at 6:55 pm“Big blowhard doofus”. Couldn’t of Rove chose some 21st century words? Just shows the Republicans are backed by the old folks home which have old/outdated ideas.
September 1st, 2008 at 6:56 pmRove slings mud like it isn’t going to be there when we wakes up in the morning. Then again, dirty is as ugly does.
September 1st, 2008 at 7:00 pmWow, a reich-winger going for a sophomoric personal attack instead of discussing the issues….biiiiiig surprise.
September 1st, 2008 at 7:00 pmRemember when the Con-job commentators said that the grownups were in charge after Chimpy moved into the White House?

September 1st, 2008 at 7:01 pmStick a fork in KKK Karl because his reputation is trash after convincing McCain to go with Sarah Palin i.e. the gift that keeps on giving to Dems.
KKK Karl kicked to the curb and will probably have a nervous breakdown.
September 1st, 2008 at 7:02 pmand then he said he will hold his breath until Biden says Momma Palin’s proximity to Russia makes her a foreign policy expert.
September 1st, 2008 at 7:02 pmRove is on the GOP propaganda channel every day. He’s got more exposure now than he did when he worked at the White House.
September 1st, 2008 at 7:02 pmOk, I get it. The Democrats are supposed to stop campaigning while the Republicans are in the hurricane zone for their photo ops. And why is that the case?
The big doofus is Rove. He has proven that many times.
The Republicans are really scared and it’s showing in the things they are doing.
Also, McCain is not the only one who has called people to serve in the hurricane zone. He’s the only one who has gotten publicity for it. Obama has asked his volunteers to go help all they can and he has asked his contributors to contribute to hurricane relief. At this time Obamas front page of his website is all about hurricane relief. I’m betting that a lot more Obama supporters contribute to the Red Cross to help than McCain supporters do. It really makes me angry that the MSM is being so partisan. We have to work so much harder to get the truth out. I talk to people at work every day to overcome the misconceptions they have and the lies they have bought.
September 1st, 2008 at 7:03 pmI agree bilbo. I believe McCain’s commitment to help the hurricane supporters is a political stunt for the MSM. It’s disgusting.
September 1st, 2008 at 7:06 pm… Page 1, paragraph 3 of The Rove Playbook:
“Take your own shortcomings and project them onto the opponent.”
September 1st, 2008 at 7:08 pm*i meant to say hurricane victims instead of hurricane supporters… ’sigh’ long day… all this news of Palin’s pregnant unwed 17 yr old daughter is too good.

September 1st, 2008 at 7:09 pmA big blowhard doofus?? Wow, that’s really mature & reponsible. Rove is showing his true colors- a spoiled brat with little to offer. And why hasn’ty he been arrested? Why do networks liusten to someone who hates Congress? Such networks reveal themselves to be promoting criminals.
September 1st, 2008 at 7:09 pmSorry about the typos.

September 1st, 2008 at 7:11 pmOh heavens….are we getting under Rove’s skin…?
September 1st, 2008 at 7:13 pmThanks for fueling Biden’s tank, Rover. His investigating horsepower will be top-notch with you in mind once he takes up the VP post. Here’s hoping that Biden returns the compliment by unearthing the details of your heavy involvement in weakening this country.

**The really sad thing is that it’s working. When will corporate show KKKarl for who is really is, rather than the jolly fat guy? And The Nation’s revelation about the neocon group that picked Palin? And McInsane’s record voting against both assistance to Katrina’s victims and Hillary’s attempt to open an investigation into what went wrong? No, corporate media just keeps giving these a$$holes a free pass and to hell with the truth.

September 1st, 2008 at 7:20 pmRove should raise the bar a little. He’s sounding like an embittered blogger.
Here’s a link to some quotes Biden would probably like to forget:
http://article.nationalreview.com/ ?q=NGRhNzJlMWY5NjdiNzhjMTRkYjMzNjYwOGJmYzNjMTY=
September 1st, 2008 at 7:20 pmHere’s a sample:
Biden, on a post-debate appearance on MSNBC, October 30, 2007: “The only guy on the other side who’s qualified is John McCain.”
Biden appearing on The Daily Show, August 2, 2005: “John McCain is a personal friend, a great friend, and I would be honored to run with or against John McCain, because I think the country would be better off, be well off no matter who…”
On Meet the Press, November 27, 2005: “I’ve been calling for more troops for over two years, along with John McCain and others subsequent to my saying that.”

Ohhhhh, I hope we can watch it on Youtube! :-)
September 1st, 2008 at 7:33 pmIn fairness, this was at the end of the list of Biden quotes:
He does seem like a good guy (maybe slightly loose of tongue).
September 1st, 2008 at 7:37 pmI remember vividly when I knew in 1992 when Bush had lost and Clinton had won.
Bush I referred to Clinton & Gore as “Mr. Bozo - Ozone Man.” It smacked of the desperation of someone who is about to lose. I think it has something to do with reverting to 4th grade linguistics.
“Big blowhard doofus” is really close to that. If McCain speaks those words, or something similar, then we know the race is over.
Com’on Rove! Exercise that influence!
September 1st, 2008 at 7:41 pmMister Rove seems to have missed his true calling in life. He should have been a projectionist, since, basically, all he does is project his own negative self-image onto others. So in his heart of hearts (assuming that he actually does has a heart), he thinks that he is a “big blowhard doofus.” Heck of a perception, there Karl…
September 1st, 2008 at 7:42 pmZooey Says:

_________
Well, it’s certainly getting played out in the national media.
I thought I was just being funny when I kept asking, “Geez, did anyone bother to vet Palin BEFORE offering her the slot???” It now appears that, NO, they did not… at all… in any form…
One thing I find, ah, “interesting” about her daughter’s blessed pregnancy… we won’t know for sure if she’s actually pregnant until AFTER the election.
September 1st, 2008 at 7:42 pmHe does seem like a good guy (maybe slightly loose of tongue).
So maybe Karl exaggerates a wee bit? Maybe NOT a “big blowhard doofus”? Maybe that was Karl projecting again.
September 1st, 2008 at 7:43 pmSo, backdown…
Any thoughts on why Palin felt compelled to hire a lawyer today for “Troopergate”?
September 1st, 2008 at 7:51 pmYep. In Repub. world it is considered appropriate to stage photo ops and campaign events at areas affected by natural disasters. That’s not “capitalizing” on the misfortune of others to demonstrate the party’s newfound good will. That is compassionate conservativism, so don’t go injecting any liberal politics into this hurricane by criticizing McCain in any way.
September 1st, 2008 at 7:52 pmYeah, I hope Palin hired a damn good attorney for the troopergate case. She’ll need it.
September 1st, 2008 at 7:58 pm1) Rove isn’t worthy to even shine Biden’s shoes. I look forward to the day that he is finally serving time.
2) Palin belonging to an organization that was encouraging secession from the Union is quite amazing. There are other organizations in other states, including Vermont, that want to secede from the Union as well. While her reasons revolve around the Second Amendment and abortion, others just want the hell out because of the violations of the whole Constitution and the danger associated with this crazy administration, as well as the general “american exceptionalism” meme that makes us appear as a threat to much of the world. Amusingly, it’s the only thing that I find appealing about her. But then, I’m just some old 60-something radical.
3) Haven’t seen any coverage of the RNC Convention (truncated now), but there IS coverage of a very large anti-war demonstration in St. Paul on C-Span.

September 1st, 2008 at 8:00 pmThanks for posting the link. USA Today surveyed 2000+ people which is a good number as compared to these polls taken of 800 likely voters which can be meaningless.
The Psycho-Right knows it’s in trouble. God I am LOVING the show.
September 1st, 2008 at 8:04 pmRove is a fine one to be calling anybody a big blowhard dufuss. And so much for McCain promising a civil campaign.
September 1st, 2008 at 8:20 pmI know that my comment is a little childish and not really worthy of publishing, but I just can’t help myself:
Dear Mr. Rove,
It takes one to know one.
September 1st, 2008 at 8:52 pmSphincter say’s what?
September 1st, 2008 at 9:05 pmIn your heart you know he’s right…
September 1st, 2008 at 9:13 pmAt least Rove is bi-partisan.
He not only works for McCain’s campaign.
Rove works as one of those fair & balanced FOX reporters Billo always elludes to.
His standing in the GOP and his party registration and much of his pay coming from the GOP has absolutely nothing to do with anything.
We have a sale on Bridges also………Interested?
September 1st, 2008 at 9:31 pmNote to Harry Reid –
It’s time to send RoverBoy a letter. Here is my recommended wording:
“Dear Karl:
I read with interest your recent description of Joe Biden as a “big doofuf blowhard”. In a gesture of genuine bipartisanship, I invite you to meet with a small group of Senators to repeat your accusation. It would be under oath, of course.
And, oh, by the way, we have a few other questions to ask you while you’re here.
Looking forward to your prompt response — Harry”
September 1st, 2008 at 9:44 pmWhere did the GOP find Rove? Was he an abandoned orphan raised backstage at the Lawrence Welk show?
September 1st, 2008 at 10:02 pmWell, Biden has not blown the cover of any CIA agents.
September 1st, 2008 at 10:05 pmThats mean and vicious and its on the right.
September 1st, 2008 at 10:11 pm“Rove calls Biden a ‘big blowhard doofus.’” lol And this comment is coming from Tubby McTreason Rove, a criminal that continues to thumb his nose to the judicial system and continues to dodge HJC subpoenas. That “blowhard doofus” as Tubby calls Biden has 30 years plus experience in the Senate and foreign policy. The constituents in Delaware seems to have no problem reappointing Biden as Senator again and again.
September 1st, 2008 at 10:39 pmWhat else to expect coming from a lier and a WAR CRIMINAL?…
September 1st, 2008 at 10:40 pmSomeone should get the recess monitor, because Karl is using his daddy’s foul potty language…again! If he doesn’t watch it, he’ll be sitting on the wall in timeout and watching the rest of the election from afar with Mitt, Mike and Joe.
September 1st, 2008 at 10:59 pmExcuse me, but I find it hard to take any of the conservatives mentioned in this TP post credible after reading these quotes from Mr. Rove…

September 2nd, 2008 at 4:13 amRovian attacks will only mobilize Democrats. When Rove was holding all the cards this stuff worked. Now that we know the evil of the republicans these tactics will not work.
Who among the republicans could be called a doofus. Let me give you a clue; he holds the highest of offices and his most prominent characteristic is that of being tongue-tied.
September 2nd, 2008 at 8:32 amRove is no “doofus”. He is someone that should be charged with conspiracy to committ treason for his role in the outing of a CIA operative. In a just world he would be offered a last cigarette and a blindfold.
September 2nd, 2008 at 9:21 amI can think of no better words to describe Karl Rove than those he chose to describe Biden.
September 2nd, 2008 at 10:59 amAmazing!! A big fat Pro-Iraqi War Advocate calling another Pro Iraqi-War Elitist a “Doofus”.
I thought all of these Pro War, Pro-Upper class types were on the same team.
Well, just shows to go ya, they create the illusion of two sides, and yet, Biden and Rove are on the same team when it comes to these among others:
1 - Lying about the Russian-Georgian situation
2 - Advocating the invasion of Iraq
3 - The Rave Act and Drug War
4 - The Bankruptcy Bill
5 - RIAA votes
6 - FBI more power
7 - Prohibiting Same Sex Marriage
