“Gallup has Obama moving to 50% for the first time ever, with an 8 point margin over John McCain (50% – 42%). Meanwhile, Rasmussen has Obama at 51% with a 6 point margin when ‘leaners’ are factored in (51%-45%).”

Does anyone else think it’s possible that JulieAnnie’s speech was moved to Wednesday because he’s going to be Palin’s replacement? I can hear it now “POW, no 9/11, no POW, no 9/11″ ad nauseum.

I watched a little of the convention (that’s all theres been) and it doesn’t take long for the Republicans to lie. Really, it’s hard to take.
Just this morning Ron Paul said it was shameful the Republicans ran up a larger defecit than Bill Clinton. Clinton left with a surplus.
Even the person who is supposed to be the most “outside” truth telling conservative can’t help but lie about their record.
I’ll watch bits and pieces but my bullshit meter is going to burn out!

ALLEN: I think they are, because they know the positive effect of this convention, and they want this crowd to be happy. And it’s not as if people are going to forget that Senator McCain is a Republican, so they might as well have whatever benefit there is to that.

Exactly what benefit would that be anyway? Bush’s own party can’t stand him, and that goes for most of the rest of the country as well.
