Palin’s lobbyist was Abramoff’s lobbyst.

The Washington Post reported today that, as mayor of Wasilla, Sarah Palin hired a lobbyist to secure nearly $27 million in federal funds for the town, and that the lobbyist, Steven Silver, had “close ties” to Rep. Don Young (R-AK) and Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK). TMPMuckraker has found that Silver also listed convicted felon Jack Abramoff’s firm, Greenberg Traurig, as a client:

On Greenberg’s behalf, Silver lobbied the federal government on “issues relating to Indian/Native American policy,” “exploration for oil and gas” and “legislation relating to gaming issues” — the very issues that Abramoff headed up for Greenberg at the time. In other words, Silver appears to have been a part of “Team Abramoff.”

E-mails released during the Abramoff investigation showed a scheduled meeting between between Silver and Abramoff in 2001.

Another day, another scandal! I really don't see how this can get any better for the Dems this year!

    Just as I'd hoped, from C & L:

Mrs. Clinton’s friends said she was galled that Ms. Palin might try to capitalize on a movement that Mrs. Clinton, of New York, built among women in the primaries….Guy Cecil, the former political director of Mrs. Clinton’s campaign, said it was “insulting” for Republicans to compare Ms. Palin to Mrs. Clinton.

“It is insulting to compare Hillary’s lifetime of service and her commitment to progressive causes with that of a novice, right-wing governor,” Mr. Cecil said.

Hillary can skewer this woman, and Obama/Biden can keep their hands clean.

    Good times, good times...

    PEACE

    It's gonna be fun...

There is the old axiom that proclaims that 'What goes around. comes around.' In the case of the modern day Repukes that equates to one big circle jerk. It all the SAME. The whole damn bunch of them are Corporate Tit-sucking WIIFMs. (What's in it for me?) Cut Cheney, Bush Bleeds: Poke Bush, McSame Bruises. Stick McSame, Graham smiles. Kick Graham, LIEberman crosses himself (see how screwed up they are!) Circumcise LIEberman, Palin gives birth. Challenge Palin, Liberals are sexist. Wipe a Liberal's behind; Behold a Cheney.

Hmmm, okay so this chick had enough brains to call for a lobbyist to help obtain $27 million for a town of 7,000 residents. Now just how did that happen and what promises were made? Not a trick question, remember this is oil territory.

Why are all the delegates in the hall tonight wearing black arm bands?

Also, did you notice that LaLa is having trouble reading the TelePrompter? I think cocktail hour started a little early for her today. I wonder if that little anorexic bimbo, Cindy, joined her.

I can hardly wait to see GDumbya come on the big screen. I have got to believe he's just crapping his pants right now trying to come up with a "legacy". Nope. He's probably too drunk to care about that at the moment.

But most Americans don't, won't, can't compare our democratic leaders, with those corrupt officials in banana republics, or dictatorships around the world.

If we are better than them it's not by much. Clean up the graft, and corruption Ms. Palin, Mr. McCain et al with something other than words.

What were the words Scanlon and Abramoff used to describe their clients? Wasn't it "morons", "monkeys", "wackos", “troglodytes"?

Does this mean Palin is part of the select crowd so graciously described by Team Abramoff?

    Ah, sweet irony...

Isn't it interesting that the campaign put GDumbya on before the major network coverage of the funeral -- er, convention -- started tonight?

Looks like they found away to keep this failed, phony presi-dunce mostly hidden away even though Gustav wasn't bad enough to serve as an excuse to keep him totally off the schedule.

  12. IBTunion4obama Says:

This story doesn't surprise me. Not to change the subject, but this GOP convention is a great sleep aid.

The only pilot in the history of US Naval Aviation to gain the coveted title of "Ace" by downing five aircraft---all belongng to the US Navy, not North Vietnam. And then throw in a serious hit on an aircraft carrier--ours! He was the only Navy pilot required to put down a deposit before being catapulted off the flight deck of the Cubi Point NAS Officer's Club in a bar chair onto the lower level.
A very entertaining sport both as a spectator and participant for every body but the chair.
