I appreciate your Candor. My Answer to your Question is a lot like Obama’s …I Don’t Know. I am therefore pro-choice, but I am Definitely NOT pro-Abortion.

I don’t buy the notion that “if you are against Abortion, then don’t have one” is a suitable position. I think of this rejoinder…” If you are against Slavery, then don’t OWN one.”

I am also bothered by this dichotomy. If the pregnancy is wanted, then it IS a Baby. If it is UNwanted, then it is not. Even though it’s the same.

I am FOR eliminating UNPLANNED PREGNANCIES. The case of Bristol Palin tells me that our society needs MORE than a “Just Say NO” Talk. Education and easy access to Birth Conrtrol are the truly PRO LIFE positions.

The number of abortions in this country is DISGRACEFULL. Everyone should know HOW women get pregnant, and How to prevent it. European countries like the Netherlands have much much lower Abortion rates than America Because they have a first Rate Health Care system, and comprehensive SEX Education.

I’m for Reducing the Numbner of Abortions to Very few, but I believe Outlawing them by Overturning Roe v. Wade would just lead to Back Alley Abortions.

Is the fertilized egg that results from a date rape, and is prevented from Implanting in the Womb by the Morning After Pill….a Life, and therefore entitled to full constitutional protection.

Would the rape victim then be an accessory to Murder?

And what about the unused frozen embryos tossed out at fertility clinics. Murder?

I’ve got to give credit to Katie Couric. She did not simply accept Ms. McCains’s first pat answer that she was “Pro- Life” and got her to admit that she would accept the right to abortions in the case of Rape or Incest.

Ms. Couric also got Cindy McCain to admit that Creationism should be taught in School. ( She should have asked specifically about in SCIENCE CLASS)

Gov. Palin needs to be VERY CLEAR about WHAT her Pro-life position Means.

For example, what about the morning after pill? Does she consider the use of this product by a woman after experiencing a date Rape to be Immoral? Murder?

If Gov. Palin is holds EXTREMIST Religious Positions, the Country NEEDS to Know About it…Ideally from her own Lips.

Can you imagine the mentality of forcing your own daughter to give birth to a child that was the product of a brutal rape? I can’t even imagine the level of religious indoctrination it takes to get to that point. That kind of conversation sure would be comfortable to have with your child. Just imagine the psychological trauma. “I know you suffered a horrible rape honey, but I’m now going to force you to give birth to the man’s baby.”

It’s “pro-life” even at the expense of destroying lives. Are you then going to force your daughter to raise the baby of her rapist until adulthood? She can watch a male child grow up to look like the guy who raped her? The kid will likely also find out who their father is eventually, which would do wonders for their mental well-being.

Not only that, but you’re going to implement policies where ALL AMERICANS have to do this? Scary.

Talk about being on the fringe. Even the anti-abortion people I know (in a rural, conservative area of Florida) would never go that far.
