Who is she suggesting said we do “nothing?” I’ve heard plenty of call for alternative energy and more fuel efficient cars. Just because we don’t want to drill more doesn’t mean we’re suggesting “nothing.”

Everybody says we have 3-4% of the world’s energy and consume 25%. Is everybody but Palin wrong? Can we really just drill in Alaska and be energy independent?

Even if that fantasy were true—what about Global Warming? Some things are true whether you believe in them or not.

And exactly who is proposing we do nothing at all? Obama? He has a very comprehensive plan on how we can meet our energy needs and in the process create new good-paying jobs in this country.

First of all, I thought I heard laughter when she said, “As if we didn’t all know that already.”

Second, “Take it from a gal who knows the North Slope of Alaska…”. Isn’t that a tad bit sexist? When Sen Clinton used words like that, didn’t the Republicans accuse her of “playing the gender card.”

Third, “But the fact that drilling won’t solve every problem is no excuse to do nothing at all.” The fact that putting a bullet in your head won’t cure a brain tumor is also no excuse to do nothing at all. But it doesn’t mean you pull the trigger anyway.

And who’s saying we want to do “nothing at all”? We want more investments into research for alternative fuels. I have an idea. Why don’t we pretend there is only one year’s worth of fossil fuels left on the planet, and see how fast we come up with alternative fuel sources.

The problem is that, when one’s worldview is based on self-delusion, one is incapable of discerning the difference between fact and fantasy.

I am quite certain that Ms. Palin really Believes she is truthful and consistent. And all the tapes and transcripts in the world won’t force her to realize she is neither.

What a commentary on how far America and her discourse have declined when someone like Palin could be considered for anything other than comic relief, much less such a vital position. Geezus, the rest of the world is laughing their collective @sses off at how far America has fallen.

After bush, it seems all bets are off and the republicans are trying to write the sequel to “Bonzo Goes To Washington.”

Last night, Palin said:
“I told the Congress “thanks, but no thanks,” for that Bridge to Nowhere. If our state wanted a bridge, we’d build it ourselves.”

Notice that she didn’t say the “Bridge to Nowhere” was a bad idea. But she said that she would saddle the State of Alaska with funding it.
Of course, we all know she was for federal funding of the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it.
