The liberal thought that pervades universities comes from complacency. Let me rephrase it for you. Many tenured professors develop a utopian view of the world that is completely detached from the real world that every day Americans live and experience. Many develop a utopian view of the world because they work in an institution with othertenured individuals who have no need to compete. Remember, they are tenured, there is no incentive to compete but much room for complacency.

However, another side of the argument leads me to a comclusion that liberal professors assume an indoctrinated utopian view of the world after being institutionalized and immersed in theory detached from reality. “MANY”, not all, professors have never held jobs outside of the college and never experience real work in the real world. To make matters worse, professors are given tenure, which essentially gives them immunity from scrutiny and firing. Tenure is not a real world luxury that the average American enjoys. In short, while professors heads may be stuck in books all day, that does not equate to intelligence nor real world experience. Book knowledge and theory can be parroted by anyone with the time to read. Don’t get me wrong, there are many great professors. However, the greatest professors will NEVER give you a hint of whether they are liberal or conservative. Sadly, in my experience, that was/is not the norm

The invisible hand is not invisible at all. In our society, a degree will earn you more money on average than no degree. Most folks understand this and work to get degrees, though some go to party on the parents tab. The great thing about this country is that you can succeed without a degree, BUT, a degree will never hurt.
