Tracy__5 Says:

“I certainly dont remember the Iraqi people begging us to invade their country to rid them of Saddam…”

I remember Saddam sending helicopter gunships to kill opposition leaders of the Iraqi National Congress that were trying to overthrown him, but we turned the other cheek, no thanks to Bush Sr.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

True I am still mad about that. Bush Sr said he would support the Shia if they revolted against Saddam. THEN we denied them use of captured equipment and watched them get slaughtered by Saddam. I dont know if there is a point there. We really dont throw a fit about ANY leader militarily putting down a rebellion. In THIS case we certainly should have since we SAID we would. That was an outright betrayal.

A bit extreme in his interpretation of the bible. Each to his own,

Ahhh, so Palin's preacher gets a pass... how even-handed and neutral you are Tracy.

How about admitting that your preacher doesn't define who you are?

“How about the sermon Palin herself gave?”

Which one?

You know, the one McCain's people are trying desperately to erase from the interweb?

This one... (although I'm sure there are other jem's out there)

“Care to comment on Palin’s preacher yet?”

A bit extreme in his interpretation of the bible. Each to his own, but I don’t hear too much in the way of real wacky things like the U.S. government developed AIDS to kill black people.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Yeah pretty tinfoil hat but I believe that was in the context of talking about the Tuskeegee experiments where blacks were denied penicillian as a control group while whites were given it to study their DEATHS by syphillis so it really doesnt come off as that hateful to me. Also I would give them both a break considering the hostility between secular and religious leaders that goes back at least as far as the biblical prophets.

Tracy__5 Says:

“It is a plain FACT however that they had the largest middle class in the middle east the best healthcare system and best educated people in the Islamic middle east.”

Not after the Iran-Iraq war and then subsequent sanctions during the 1990s and Saddam has everything to do with that ill being brought on the Iraqis.

“I am sure what they WOULD like is their previous lives back WITHOUT Saddam.”

Of course they would, but as you say WITHOUT Saddam. Given this little requirement it’s going to take time. Remember Saddam’s sons were next in line for the next 30 years.

“What is without DISPUTE is THEY WANT US GONE”

Absolutely.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

A reasoned argument I see nothing to dispute here. IF they wanted them gone it was up to THEM to make them go. I certainly dont remember the Iraqi people begging us to invade their country to rid them of Saddam and the reason I DONT remember it is because it never happened. Also it is ridiculous to pretend we invaded Iraq to free the poor suffering Iraqi people. Saddam was at his worst when he was our good ally. By the time we invaded about 300 people a year were being killed for political reasons according to HRW. That makes him a thug but that is a bad MONTH in Columbia or Guatemala. If we really cared that much about the suffering of other people we would START with Guatemala. That wouldnt take an invasion they are a wholly owned subsidiary of corporate America all it would take to stop THEM from slaughtering labor leaders is political pressure. I notice we dont provide that. Stop pretending the invasion of Iraq was about Bush helping the poor suffering Iraqi people, it makes my stomach hurt. I remeber the runup to the War. It was we have to invade Iraq because of the WMDs, Iraq has WMDs they litter Iraq like so many cigarette butt, the WMDS...Ok no WMDs but 9/11 its about 9/11. 9/11...Ok so they had nothing to do with 9/11 but they are working with al Queda, they will give their weapons to al Queda we cant let them work with al Queda...Ok so they ARENT working with al Queda but give me a minute...Yeah, liberation, thats the ticket, we have to liberate Iraq yeah. It doesnt pass the laugh test.

Florida election law, but that shouldn’t matter…right?

What a stupid thing to say. Florida election law made it illegal to count valid votes? Are you an infant?

Tracy__5 Says:

“I wonder how many people that voted for Bush in 2000 could take that back, and vote for the legitimate winner(GORE)?”

I didn’t realize that illegally counting votes made Gore the winner.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Illegally counting VOTES????? Counting votes is what I like to call DEMOCRACY. Who made it illegal? What is no longer in dispute is that when all valid votes WERE counted in Florida, because that was done by an accounting firm, that Gore got more votes by any counting standard

“I’ve always found it interesting how quickly Saddam was hanged back then… it’s almost like some folk didn’t want him talking about what he knew…”

Yes that he was actually a decent guy that always had his people in his heart. LOL!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

Another stupid strawman argument. Do you EVER make sense?

Tracy__5 Says:

I will bet even after all the Iraqi have been thru if you put it to an Iraqi vote on whether they would like to see Saddam back in power they would say “no”.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Do the ones that are DEAD because of the invasion get to vote? Your question is a classic logical fallacy. Are those the Strawman. No one is arguing that Saddam was a great guy. In fact you conservatives are late on the Saddam is a monster bandwagon where were YOU in 83 and 88 when liberals like me were screaming we should stop supporting him and he should be tried for crimes against humanity? Probably with your hero Raygun supporting him and stopping the UN investigation of Halabja. It is a plain FACT however that they had the largest middle class in the middle east the best healthcare system and best educated people in the Islamic middle east. Women lawyers, doctors, college professors and the first woman judge was sworn in 1959.8That is pretty much gone though they may recover. I am sure what they WOULD like is their previous lives back WITHOUT Saddam.
What is without DISPUTE is THEY WANT US GONE

Care to comment on Palin's preacher yet?
How about the sermon Palin herself gave?

You know part of what really bothers me about Iraq and Saddam is that I recall reading somewhere, and I don't have a link, that Bush 1's ambassabor was told that Saddam was going to invade Kuwait. The Bush 1 administration didn't have a problem with that until after the invasion and the Saudis screamed bloody murder. Then Bush 1 had to do something.

We have all this to blame on the Bush 1, Cheney, Rummy and Chimpy.

And there are still no WMDs.

I believe it would be called "community organizer" in the Obama camp. But McCain's campaign is the only one offering "frequent lyer" points.

From the volume of your posts, Tracy_5, McCain likes quantity, not quality.

Oh hell, I did the same thing everyone else did her. This thread should be given to Tracy5 because it certainly has said more moronic things on this thread than ever before. Congratulations to Tracy5 for hitting a new low.

Now, let's stop feeding the troll.

#Tracy__5 Says:
“Actually they hated him.”
But their lives were so much better under Saddam.

Wow, I didn't think I would live to see the day that this particular dumb troll would say something that was true.

Yes, troll, their lives were better under Saddam. I read a recent survey of the Iraqi's that said just that. They were asked if their lives were better off now than they were when Saddam was in power and a vast majority said "Hell No".

Last time I checked at least 80% of the Iraqis thought USA would never leave. So what kind of liberty is that?
