Hannity explodes on air, calls guest ‘fool’ and ‘idiot,’ tells him to get off set.

Yesterday on Fox News, Sean Hannity and The American Prospect’s Robert Kuttner had a tense exchange about the election. As Kuttner offered advice for Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), Hannity interrupted, saying Obama is “hiding” his associations with Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright. “Stop it. Stop it. This is — this is garbage you’re spewing,” Hannity said. Kuttner shot back, accusing Hannity of “doing RNC talking points”:

HANNITY: You spew this line, DNC talking points.

KUTTNER: I don’t spew any goddamn line. Stop insulting me or I’m walking off the set.

HANNITY: Go ahead. Go. Good-bye. Walk off. … Please. I don’t care. Go right ahead. Walk off. You said the economy is in dire straits.

KUTTNER: It is in dire straits. You want to deny that, you fool?

HANNITY: You fool, you idiot.

KUTTNER: You’re going to deny that the economy is in dire straits?

HANNITY: For the first time — sir, sir, unemployment in this country…

Watch it:

Hannity said that claiming the U.S. has seen a “dire” economy is “all based on a lie.” “We got out of the recession that Clinton and Gore gave us,” he said. In fact, job growth in the eight years before Bush came to office was significantly better than in the eight years since.

Digg It!

It’s a good thing it didn’t get physical or Colmes might have had to get involved. Who else would have held Hannity’s coat for him?

The Rightwing propaganda machine has many demented cogs. Limbaugh is a shameless liar, Micheal ‘the Weinerdog’ Savage is totally insane O’falafel is just so full of himself but of them all Hannity is a complete moron. The man is just dumber than cigarette ash. I sometimes think with the Oxymoron its about the money and he would switch sides and be a liberal in a heartbeat if THEY offered more cash and that the Weinerdog is doing performance art but Hannity is just ignorant to the bone. I think he really believes all the truly stupid things he says are true.

I so glad that at least some of the American people are snapping out of their sleepwalk of the last several years and calling out these BS reichwing a-wholes(no moderation needed here, right TP?).

Its true, unemployment is high, some 260 lending institutions have imploded, 11 banks, I think, have gone under with another 117 on the watch list. Bear Stearns was bailed out. Fannie and Freddie are basically insolvent, Lehman brothers is in trouble. Ford and Chevy are laying off workers. Starbuck closing 600 stores. Home depot closing stores. Levitz and Sharper Image filed for bankruptcy.s Linens ‘n Things going down. Foot Locker said it would close 140 stores, Ann Taylor will start to shutter 117, and the jeweler Zales will close 100.

I dont know, who, or why, anyone would pay Hannity so much money to be so uninformed.

People like this sht head are what’s wrong with America, and why the rest of the world thinks we’re all idiots.

The blame Clinton thing is not new. Neocons have been touting that line from the start. The market was adjusting to the downturn that the Neocon policies were certain to bring.

  28. trollsbwild says:

Hannity with the but, but, but Clinton for the state of our economy?

LOL- Sean should be more careful to not have guests who actually can articulate the facts a whole lot better than he can.

  29. Count Istvan says:

Ok I played it. Colmes In his defense was giving a fine interview and then Shemp lost his shit. Here’s the funny thing. The guy wasn’t exactly praising Obama. He was raising some valid points about the way this campaign was being run. Then for no good reason other than he’s a complete dink Hannity dropped a load. Then once Hannity started losing his argument on the economy he went to the good ol’ Conservative standby of changing the subject.

And yes Colmes never once told his buttboy Colmes to shut and let the man answer. He didn’t even say excuse me Shemp I was interviewing the man.

100% Kuttner’s voice. He reinforced his previous line with (”…, you fool?”) that.

  35. stateofthedivision says:

Hannity did a T.O. and threw a tantrum on TV. Is that what comes when you sign the big boy contracts with FOX News or the Dallas Cowboys?

To Terrel’s credit, he’s behaving better. Hannity give T.O a call to find out how he made the transition. I think that $100 million went to Sean’s head.

  36. superid says:

I think Hannity feels the tide turning and Rachel Maddow breathing down his pencil neck. If he thinks beating up on an egg head is going to offset the immanent Palin implosion, he’s dumber than I thought. I smell desperation.

  37. texaslady says:

How can they argue with facts from their own administration ???

  38. dfletcher says:

    Huh.

I guess the massive increase in BART ridership has been my imagination.

Or the fact that each trip to the grocery store over the past year has cost more and more, that’s also my imagination.

And OMG the worst part – my beloved hobby of building electronic jiggers – I cannot afford it anymore. That’s my imagination too.

I wish I had a got-the-position-because-of-my-hair job too! Then maybe my imagination wouldn’t run so wild.

  41. twinkle says:

First, Hannity does not belong on the air. He is not professional, however he does need to be trained on how to present himself to the public once the camera is on. It’s professional to represent his network and overall treat his guest with the up most respect. This is a powerful country that we live in. It’s discrediting for the network to have this irate man to represent them, to discuss issues that relate to the United States of America. Serious issues are discussed in a violent, hostile, forceful manner. This is not a good idea at all. There is so much rage within this journalist and he must get himself together and in control.

We have a wonderful country! And that’s exactly why everyone wants to vacation here, live here, to enjoy what it has to offer. The country needs to be refurbished to become even better for the people, and it’s imperative that the next leader works very hard to guide this country in the right direction.

Now lets discuss health care. If Great Britain can do it, we can too! They went to war with us and my god they can show our government how to run a Public Funded Health Care for the permanent residents. We are human. We get sick, we can’t function, we may get a deadly disease, we may brake a bone. Our lives are precious, we were created by god. Life should not be compared to a motor vehicle. There’s great concern and care over motor vehicle insurance, laws rule making everyone have it. If you buy the motor vehicle, it’s your responsibility to insure it. Life, it’s so different. Life was created, born and human. Taking care of a life is so precious, keeping it healthy to thrive. There should be no question to compare the value of one’s life over a dollar amount. Free Public Healtcare is taking a step in caring for the people, humanity and what’s right in keeping life alive and well.

Han Job is a flat out lying fool! Did he say unemployment is lower than at any time in the last 4 decades?

I did some calculations recently on average unemployment rates and gdp by administration for the last 50 years after an argument (not discussion) I had with someone. I lost my cool too as Kuttner did. It is more effective to keep cool and refute the opposition such as Han Job with facts.

    Source: http://www.bls.gov
    Lower numbers are better

August 2008 monthly unemployment rate 6.1%

    Average Yearly Unemployment rates:
    Kennedy/Johnson 4.84%
    Nixon/Ford 5.84%
    Carter 6.54%
    Reagan 7.54%
    G.H.W. Bush 6.3%
    Clinton 5.2%
    G. W. Bush 5.21% so far

    Republican Administrations Average 6.22%
    Democratic Administrations Average 5.53%

    Source http://www.bea.gov
Average RGDP (total physical output) growth by administration:
    Higher numbers are better

    Kennedy/Johnson 4.9%
    Nixon/Ford 2.8%
    Carter 3.3%
    Reagan 3.4%
    G.H.W. Bush 2.1%
    Clinton 3.7%
    G. W. Bush 2.3% so far

    Democratic Administrations’ Average 4.0%
    Republican Administrations’ Average 2.65%

By almost every major macroeconomic measure, the economy performs better under Democratic administrations than Republican.

Let these facts bore their way into your consciousness and have than ready for “discussions” with the likes of Han Job.

  77. impeachcheneythenbush says:

Hannity is an RNC tool, period. Funny that he calls Kuttner a fool and an idiot. Just looking at their educational accomplishments reveals a well-educated man (Kuttner) vs. a college drop-out (Hannity). From Wikipedia:

Robert Kuttner attended Oberlin College, the University of California, Berkeley, and the London School of Economics.

At different times throughout his career he has taught at Brandeis, Boston University, UMass, and Harvard’s Institute of Politics. He has also been a John F. Kennedy Fellow at Harvard University, a Woodrow Wilson Fellow at UC-Berkeley, a Guggenheim Fellow, and a Radcliffe Public Policy Fellow.

He holds an honorary degree from Swarthmore College.

Hannity graduated in 1980 from St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary high school, located in Uniondale, New York. Described as “an indifferent student”,[4] Hannity dropped out of New York University for financial reasons and later decided to pursue a radio career.[3] In 2005, Jerry Falwell, chancellor of Liberty University awarded him an honorary degree.[5]

  78. Klem Kiddilehopper says:

Wait till he is questioned about the $10,000,000 he said he donated to the Freedom Alliance in 2007! Hannity claims last year he raised $10,000,000 for Freedom Alliance with his 5 concerts that 60,000 attended, as found at:
    premierspeakers.com/sean_hannity
That would me every single one of the 60,000 coughed up $166.66 to attend his “Look at me,ain’t I a great American?”! Freedom Alliance’s Tax Form 990 hasn’t been released yet this year, meaning they haven’t filed on with the IRS! No where in Freedom Alliance’s Tax Form 990’s for the years ‘03 -’06 The years of his concerts) is any mention what-so-ever of Freedom Concerts donating one single penny!
In closing, no matter what Hannity or Ollie North say, in 2006 they raised almost $9,600,000 and gave to the wounded vets and or their familes only “$397,900!” That’s it,only 4.4% of the 9.6 million raised went to the vets and their families. Read the 990’s at Guidestar.org

  79. backup says:

belac. you’re right. Hannity was obnoxious as Kuttner was having a serious conversation. That caused Kuttner to start with the profanity and then to call Hannity a fool.

Hannity would be alot more effective if he could lose the obnoxiousness. Kuttner made a mistake for letting Hannity get to him.

But, I see your point. An ugly exchange that either Hannity or Kuttner could have prevented.

Colmes, to his credit, comes off as the adult supervision. He is an underappreciated voice (especially at Fox). I wish political discourse could be more Colmes like.

Hannity then responds in kind with ‘fool’ and ‘idiot’.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hannity began the rudeness from what THIS says by accusing him of spewing garbage THAT is rude.

    And they finish the interview.

You probably wouldn’t get that impression, the way they phrased the headline.

If you meet someone and punch them in the face. People will find that appalling. But, if they find out, that other person punched you first, they might cut you some slack.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

It looks to me like Hannity, who lets face it is dumber than a peachpit, started the rudeness.

You are exactly right and for tracy and backup to come here and try to defend hannity who couldn’t even sit through hearing the truth is magnificent justification for the abuse that gets rained on their heads each time they come here on yet another fools errand.

  109. Xisithrus says:

What is your cure for what ails our economy?

    This is an open question.

I say we need to regulate greed. We need better wages so the American people can buy what they need and be able to save, which they dont today, as savings puts liquidity in the system.

Offshoring jobs is not patriotic, it creates higher profits, for a time, but overall it creates less jobs for Americans, and then out economy suffers because Americans cant consume.

Repeal the Gramm Leach Bliely act and close loopholes.

Globalisation…cant be accomplished thru war. We need better diplomacy and relations.

    Dont restart the cold war.

  110. Xisithrus says:

You are exactly right and for tracy and backup to come here and try to defend hannity -Pete

Indeed. I am not about to defend any media pundit, to do so is to involve ones self with non-issues that obfuscate that what people want to really find out about, issues.

  111. Innocent Bystander says:

    Xisithrus Says:

Hannity, it seems, is avoiding the economical issue, just as McCain is.

I don’t think he’s avoiding it so much as spinning it. He’s getting paid to sell Republican economics to middle-class Americans. The economy has never been so bad in my lifetime and I’ve been voting since 1972. This mess lands completely on the Republican doorstep and Sean,, Rush, Glen Beck and the rest of the Republican apologists have a yeoman’s task to convince their low information audience that things aren’t so bad. At least keep the illusion alive until after the election.

  112. nomodubya says:

Well, I tuned into Bill O’reilly the last few days because he had Obama on and have now come to the realization what Faux Noise’s modus operandi is: if your guest strays from the conservative view or the RNC talking points, shout them down.

It was funny, Billo quoted an AP article saying that one set of the interviews of Obama (presumably fox) shouted him down when he tried to answer and the other (presumably MSNBC) gave him softballs. I watched both, and both asked the same questions of Obama… the difference was that on Fox, Billo continually interrupted him and interjected his nitwit opinion and RNC talking points to try to bait Obama (which he did not fall for) and on MSNBC he was allowed to answer the questions put to him and there was none of the baiting going on, Olbermann showed RESPECT for the interviewee. Bill claimed he was just trying to keep Obama from wandering because he had limited time for the interview, but what I saw was not an attempt to focus the discussion, rather an attempt to bait Obama into getting flustered or angry.

It took watching less than one episode of Billo to see him for the stunning hypocrite that he is, I honestly don’t understand homw people can take Billo and Hannity seriously.

And one other slighty off topic comment regarding ratings, Fox’s ratings are where they are because the “liberals” actually take an interest in hearing view points other than their own, so they (like myself) will watch the conservative blowhards to try to understand both sides of the issues, but the conservatives seem to just watch Fox and stick their fingers in their ears and yell “LA LA LA LA LA LA IM NOT LISTENING LALALALALALAL” if someone starts to voice a different opinion than theirs. (yes a gross generalization, my apologies to any intelligent conservatives out there who weigh both sides of an issue before deciding… you seem to be in the minority)

What recession under Clinton-Gore? How do eight years of unprecedented growth under Clinton contain a recession? Hannity is full of it. While there still has not been a technical recession under Bush-Cheney, the economy has been propped up by the robber barons at the top. Statistical skew prevents a technical recession even though the median family has been hurting under Bush for a long, long time.

And Hannity thinks spending $1 trillion on Americans is crazy, yet he has absolutely no problem spending that amount bombing Iraq, fighting a horribly mismanaged war there, and then trying to rebuild that country after the mess we created there.

Sean Hannity, get back on your meds.

He thinks he owns the world and that everyone should bow to his obvious stupidity. He is a narrow minded uneducated idiot that surpasses all morons I have ever encountered. He is short tempered, horribly versed, never listens, and never lets people finish their thoughts. That alone demonstrates the minuscule brain inside his fat ugly pathetic head. Aside his buddy G.W the moron Bush and Bill the dick head O’Reilly, and lets’ not forget his girl friend Palin, the world thinks he is a complete loser. I quit listening to this retard years ago. I thought everything
he said was just crap. He used to be so certain that WMD would be found. Books that have come out like the one written by
the CIA director say that there really was no evidence of WMD.
The document that IRAQ was trying to buy uranium from Africa
and a document from IRAQs head of intelligence to Sadam
about Mohammed Atta traning in IRAQ were faked by BUSH
and Cheney. His comments about how great the economy
is doing never mentioned the fact that BUSH was stimulating
the economy with trillions of dollars of borrowed money.
The country now has almost 5 trillion dollars more debt
than when Bush came into office.
Bush added a trillion dollars to the national debt faster
    than any other president.
Hannity acts like it is outrageous that Obama has said
he will spend a trillion dollars.
He used to say what great man Bush was. From what I
have read Bush has been mediocre at everything he has
    done in his life.
He has a history degree with a C average.
He made the minimum passing score on the test to qualify
to get into Air Force pilot school.
He only got in to the pilot school because of his fathers
    connectons as a congressman.
His father probably set things up so he could go to
    Harvard and graduate.
Most businesses he tried to run failed.
He’s had problems with alcohol and drug abuse.
It’s hard to believe there are so many stupid
people in this country that don’t see Hannity
for the usless idiot that he is and just stop
    listening to his show.
