As someone famously said “You are entitled to your own Opinions but you are not entitled to your own Facts”. And the facts are that from 1996 to 2002 as Mayor of Wasilla (population about 6,000 and, according to the 2000 Census, 84.56% white) Palin aggressively sought earmarks for Wasilla, going so far as to hire big-time Washington LOBBYISTS to squeeze as much taxpayer money out of Washington as possible. Palin and her hired Lobbyists were so good that they managed to get $600,000 for a bus facility, $1.75 Million for dispatch center equipment, $2.4 Million for water and sewer facilities, and much, much more.

According to Taxpayer’s for Common Sense, in Palin’s last 4 years as Mayor she netted the 6,000 residents of Wasilla a whopping $27 million in earmarks! That $27 million in earmarks includes the money for the Bridge to Nowhere which Palin backed when she was running for governor in 2006 before she was against it in 2007 after wasteful spending watchdog groups attacked it! But here’s the kicker–Palin KEPT the money for the Bridge to Nowhere.

This year Alaska had more requests for earmarks per person than any other state. The fact is that Palin asked for $256 Million in earmarks her first year in office and for $195 Million her second year.

Because Palin has such an anemic public service record and she refuses to be interviewed and answer in-depth question, in order to know what she truly stands for we can rely only on her actual past actions rather than her future promises and hype.

But I have seen with my own eyes that she does wear lipstick.

The ‘Opposite and Inverse’ quotient is not new, yet its application to an entire political party is unprecedented and quite an astonishing feat.

The ‘Opposite and Inverse’ quotient is self explainable, though its history may not be.

It was originally used in a variety of stand up comedic acts, but has gained popularity in politics over the past eight years through the Bush Administration continual usage.

The ‘Opposite and Inverse’ quotient in its basic form is as follows:

Up is down, black is white. Inherent characteristics are transposed on outside bodies. What we hold to be common truths are now in question, and each opposite (untruths) are regarded as legitimate. The ‘Opposite and Inverse’ quotient used in it’s previous context would require a statement be followed with such words as: “yeah, yeah, that’s the ticket!” Which would undeniably verify to listeners that the actual statement was a farce.

Due to this party’s continual usage of the ‘Opposite and Inverse’ quotient without a signifying statement to alert listeners to the obvious falsehood, listeners are then required to identify the intent and accuracy of the statements made.

Some in the public have been referring to this phenomenon as “lying,” and this too may be a new “truth.” However, the comedic history of its usage has left us without adequate transition time for the 2008 election.

I, therefore warn the public to assume any and everything that is said by the republican party, it’s members and leadership, is entirely the opposite of what has been said.

Exactly. It’s just a continuation of the Republican War on Science. Watch for McCain to back away from his earlier stances on evolution and climate change soon, and introduce a bit more doubt into what he says about them.

Not to mention that $3 million in the Federal budget is beyond pocket change. It’s a bit of pocket lint.
