Last night on MSNBC, host Keith Olbermann aired clips of Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) offering her support for the so-called “Bridge to Nowhere” during a debate in 2006, and another of Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) criticizing it. “Considering that this campaign is not about issues, that dispute could very well be moot,” Olbermann said, adding that as of today, he will give to charity every time Palin lies:
OLBERMANN: By the way, as of tomorrow, every time Senator [sic] Palin repeats one of her standard lies about the Bridge to Nowhere or the plane she sold on eBay that she didn’t sell on eBay, or the fired chef she didn`t fire, I will donate 100 dollars to charity. It will be 300 dollars if she somehow says she sold the chef on eBay. I will also donate fictional cans of Aunt Sarah’s canned moose chunk stew to a lucky viewer.
Watch it:
As of yesterday, Palin and the McCain campaign have repeated the lie that Palin opposed the “Bridge to Nowhere” at least 29 times.
KO better hope that he gets a pay raise….
September 11th, 2008 at 11:54 amI love Keith.
September 11th, 2008 at 11:54 amOh great Keith. You’re just enabling them to continue lying.
September 11th, 2008 at 11:55 am“Olbermann says he will give to charity every time Palin lies.”
– - Keith, make sure you donate the money to a home for unwed mothers.
September 11th, 2008 at 11:56 amOlbermann will be bankrupt before election day.
September 11th, 2008 at 11:59 amKeith’s Special Comment on McCain and the Repukes using 9/11 as a political chess piece was on the mark also.
September 11th, 2008 at 12:00 pmDoes that count the compaign commercial where they brag about her opposing it?
September 11th, 2008 at 12:05 pmCould end up costing him a million dollars easily.
tony and guidedogLIdo
His special comment last night regarding the politilization of 9/11(tm) reflect my sentiments almost exactly. It was AWESOME!
September 11th, 2008 at 12:06 pmThere are going to be some happy charities out there.
Shara Bush is a cronic liar…and is KO & Steph Miller (on Larry King) the only ones in the media pointing this out?
America has become nothing more than American Idle watchers and they are treating this election the same way.
September 11th, 2008 at 12:06 pmIt would appear that Stain-McPalin/08 don’t have anything else to run on…
Just lies and faux outrage…
The “lovely Sarah” might have jump started a few dead GOOPer batteries for the time being, but I’d suspect this is all going to wear pretty thin by November if they don’t come up w/ something more than “The Bridge To Nowhere” & “How dare you!!!”
September 11th, 2008 at 12:08 pmAs of yesterday, Palin and the McCain campaign have repeated the lie that Palin opposed the “Bridge to Nowhere” at least 29 times.
Since MSM isn’t doing its job, perhaps more Americans will contnue to show up at John McCain’s speeches to call him out on his lies?
This IS a Revolution now.
September 11th, 2008 at 12:09 pmHere’s a hint to the DNC: Talking Heads “Road to Nowhere”.
Well we know where we’re going
But we don’t know where we’ve been
And we know what we’re knowing
But we can’t say what we’ve seen
And we’re not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out
Ye-ah
We’re on a road to nowhere
Come on inside
Taking that ride to nowhere
We’ll take that ride
I’m feeling okay this morning
And you know
We’re on the road to paradise
Here we go, here we go
We’re on a ride to nowhere
Come on inside
Taking that ride to nowhere
We’ll take that ride
Maybe you wonder where you are
I don’t care
Here is where time is on our side
Take you there, take you there
We’re on a road to nowhere (ha! ha!)
We’re on a road to nowhere (ha! ha!)
We’re on a road to nowhere (ha! ha!)
There’s a city in my mind
Come along and take that ride
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right
And it’s very far away
But it’s growing day by day
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right
Would you like to come along
You can help me sing this song
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right
They can tell you what to do
But they’ll make a fool of you
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right
There’s a city in my mind
Come along and take that ride
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right
And it’s very far away
But it’s growing day by day
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right
And would you like to come along
You can help me sing this song
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right
They can tell you what to do
But they’ll make a fool of you
And it’s all right, baby, it’s all right
We’re on a road to nowhere (hey!)
We’re on a road to nowhere (heugh!)
We’re on a road to nowhere (ha! ha!)
We’re on a road to nowhere
Great song, perfectly fits the McIIIrd campaign.

Or:
The Center for Senile Senators and Greedy Governors.
Home for Pandering Pompous Punchinellos and Prosaic Proselytic Procuresses.
The Repository for Repulsive Republican Reprobates and Recreants.
September 11th, 2008 at 12:13 pmHa, man, I didn’t even realize the chef and plane things were right out lies… not that I expected much else.
September 11th, 2008 at 12:15 pmI wonder if Olbermann will release a list of charities he’s planning to contribute to? I hope there are some organizations on it that would really frost the GOP butts, like Planned Parenthood, NOW, the ACLU, etc., and that they know that every time Sarah Palin lies, money is going there.
September 11th, 2008 at 12:17 pmDienowforpeace….can we use that song and make copies???? I love it and want to find a more mainstream use for it if you don’t mind.

How about YOU make a donation everytime you say something stupid and irrelevant?

Can’t come up with your own name? I believe MCWars would kick your arse, pinhead troll

Insane Troll Institute.
September 11th, 2008 at 12:30 pmI thought of a twist on this idea – how about that everytime Palin lies in a speech (or in a deposition), we donate $10 to the Obama campaign. If enough of us sign up, she could finance the whole campaign by herself. And think of the bind that puts the McCain campaign in. They know they don’t stand a chance if they don’t lie and cheat, but if they do lie, they know that Obama’s going to get money. :-)
September 11th, 2008 at 12:30 pmGood one, DNP. I wish David Byrne was out on the campaign trail right now, but his words live on.
Let’s sell John McBush on E-Bay…minimum bid = 7 houses, National Debt and pay for the Iraq invasion. Let’s see, that would be about twentyeleven gazillion, right?
What’s sick is, Cindy McCain could just write a check for it.
September 11th, 2008 at 12:31 pmIt’s always nice for one to enjoy the fruits of their labor, but c’mon, I barely lifted the finger in pissing off this troll before realizing the pinnacle achievement. NO FAIR!!
September 11th, 2008 at 12:34 pmSkepticRising, great idea! Of course, we all would already owe a minimum of $290, but HEY, Freedumb isn’t cheap.
September 11th, 2008 at 12:36 pmThanks bentley for getting right down to business in choking the troll!

Rachel’s show also was covering Saracudda’s lies last night. Was a good show.
September 11th, 2008 at 12:47 pmThat’s a great idea…I wish Obama would make the same pledge…it certainly would call more attention to the GOP lies and exagerations.
September 11th, 2008 at 12:49 pm# 22 SkepticRising:
Im in for 1% on Keith’s scale (Im a poor hard workin ‘Murikan) per lie.
September 11th, 2008 at 1:35 pmWhy won’t Palin answer questions? What is she hiding?
September 11th, 2008 at 2:22 pm“I’m John McCain and I approve this message”.
Send this to EVERYONE.
Quickly.
NOW.
September 11th, 2008 at 2:23 pmI think he should say he will donate $100.00 for every lie to Barack Obama’s campaign or to the DNC, instead of charity. Not that I have ANYTHING against charity, it’s just that donating to Barack would give McCain/Palin SOME incentive to quit lying over and over again.
(I realize his network would probably not allow him to publicly contribute to either political campaign).
