Palin Repeats Bridge To Nowhere Lie For The Ninth Time
As ThinkProgress and others noted, Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) seemed to acknowledge last week to ABC’s Charles Gibson that she lied in claiming repeatedly that she said, “Thanks, but no thanks” to Congress for federal funding for the Bridge to Nowhere. Palin did not challenge Gibson when he explained that “it’s now pretty clearly documented that you supported that bridge before you opposed it.”
Palin had dropped the lie from her two speeches before her fellow Alaskans, some of whom are reportedly angered by her false bridge claim. But during a campaign rally in Carson City, NV yesterday, Palin re-introduced the lie, falsely claiming for the ninth time that she said to Congress, “‘Thanks, but no thanks’ on that Bridge to Nowhere”:
PALIN: I told Congress, “Thanks, but no thanks” on that bridge to nowhere — that if our state wanted to build that bridge, we would build it ourselves.

Palin’s claim is, of course, demonstrably false — but the McCain-Palin campaign and its surrogates have now repeated the lie 32 times, according to a ThinkProgress count.

Failin’ Palin will collapse under the weight of her dishonesty, vindictive nature, total lack of qualifications and shocking lack of substance.
But McNumbNuts is even more of an empty vessel and Obama/Biden need to expose this. He has nothing but rhetoric to offer . . . and he’s not even very good at that. They need to hammer, hammer, hammer away. He is not a maverick. He is not a reformer. He is not “country first”. At best, he’s out only for himself. At worst, he is more of a lackey than even GDumbya.

I guess McStain’s class standing (894/899) is explained, in part, by his inablity to tell the truth, even in the face of being proved a liar.
Also, the McStain campaign claimed Palin’s crowd yesterday was approx. 10,000, but the Nevada Parks Dept. states that the venue capacity is 3,500.

I’m not so sure it’s true of all of but the die-hard 23%ers. I’ve been reading the blog comments at traditional MSM sites and there are a lot of Republicans, especially military Republicans who understand the importance of a competent C-I-C, who are voting for Obama because of McCain’s choice of Palin.
Anyone who is looking at this woman objectively is coming away disgruntled. She’s a train-wreck that parallels what’s wrong with the Bush-Cheney Regime. And anyone willing to see it, regardless of political affliation, knows that she cannot become a heartbeat away from the Presidency.
The more she speaks, and the more she is vetted in the public forum, the more scary she is becoming to the Republicans who have had enough of George Bush. It’s why Obama is picking up more new donors each day.
