Racial harrassment rife at EPA branch.

PEER reports, “In a blistering ruling the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Commission has found that racially ‘discriminatory and demeaning comments and adverse treatment” were ’severe’ and ‘permeated the workplace’ in an enforcement branch of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.” An example of the complaints of EPA Special Agent George De Los Santos, who is based in the Criminal Investigations Division office in Dallas:

* His supervisor accusing him of stealing license plates and reselling them for profit in Mexico;
* Women co-workers were routinely referred to as “pussies”;
* Native American co-workers were called names like “Squatting Eagle” and “Two Dogs F__king” while an African-American colleague was ridiculed as mentally slow.

De Los Santos’ supervisor called his conduct “Special Agent grab-assing” and said he needed to quit complaining and “act like a man.” The EEO Commission found that many of these offensive comments “occurred in front of supervisors immediately after a meeting about EEO issues, demonstrating that agency officials did not take EEO issues seriously.”

The rot of this administration top to bottom is a stench in the nostrils of our good country. These guys are a disgusting embarassment

WOW, another Government Agency that is full of BushCo scumbags is racist?????

    Who’da thunk?

  3. stateofthedivision says:

Wow, those comments sound like something President George Bush could’ve said:

    “Iranians are arseholes”
    “Wall Street got drunk”
“Tell the Syrians to cut that shi-t out”

We all remember his unwanted touching of German PM Angela Merkel. I saw him yucking it up with Rumsfeld at Gates after saying, “We now dedicate this memorial” on 9-11 at the Pentagon.

We have a sorry model of leadership in the White House with little to no accountability from the Congress or the Judiciary. It’s no surprise it ran downhill in the wider Executive branch.

    Let me guess. Republican?

    Cheers,

  5. Zooey says:

It’s shocking that the EEOC is afflicted this way, but I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if other agencies are similarly afflicted.

    Republicans CAN’T govern.

I would immediately be fired if I said anything close to any of those.

  7. Crusty Old Bastard says:

It is all their own fault. When watching the Lone Rone night someone told the EPA Director that “Kemo Sab” was Apache for “Chicken Sheet” and he swore to get even. Good Rethuglican logic here–business as usual. But the end is coming, My Friends, and that is exactly where Chicken George WTF and the rest of bushco is going to get it–in the end.

See what happens when a morally corrupt, and intellectually stunted, sh!t-kicker is adopted as the “father figure” of a party? The U.S. government has been reformed in his image.

    Sickening indeed.

  9. stateofthedivision says:

Are “Turd Blossom” and “Squatting Eagle” related?

  10. McWars says:

I thought our government was supposed to be THE model of an inclusive and welcoming place to work.

    ______

This happened at the EPA, not the EEOC. The EEOC is the one who issued the ruling.

Though with the way this administration has attempted to gut the EEOC, it is a bit surprising that they actually managed to issue such a ruling.

    ‘Global warming’ Gore attracts heat

The latest angry anti-Gore round boiled up when radio talk show host Steve Gill, a regular Gore basher, fired up listeners over the family’s new 100-foot houseboat that’s docked on Center Hill Lake.

them_libs… is that really the best you can do?

    really?

Obviously no one cares as the moron troll of the day tries tactic #2 from the Troll manual page one. LOOK OVER THERE. Stop talking about this disgusting administration and how there is no level of moral depravity they will not sink to and lets talk about something else.ANYTHING ELSE. Dont look at the man behind the curtain look over there, or over there or ANYWHERE ELSE. You are unbelievably pathetic

  19. pete says:

    Hey troll!

See the big letters at the top of the page? They spell words which indicate the topic of the thread. While we are pretty loose about sticking to topics, it’s best to restrict comments to something that’s relevant to something.

I’m afraid that your introduction of an article about a former politician doesn’t pass the relevance test. I think that I speak for most of the folks here when I say that, we are more concerned with people who are writing policy or running for the privilege of writing policy.

  20. barfly says:

Just wait until next year, when all these politically-appointed true-believers are in danger of losing their comfy governmental perches; then, suddenly there will be a rash ( Who am I kidding? It will be a tsunami) of stress-related workers-comp claims – and their ideological counterparts in control at the Labor Dept. will rubberstamp each claim as it hits the “in” box (for a slight gratuity, of course). And the incoming Dems will be so obsessed with enacting their agenda, they’ll just want to “move on,” and forget about any outgoing illegalities.

Remember the bogus stories of Clintonistas prying the “w”’s of all the White House staff computer keyboards? I shudder to imagine what racist surprises the Bushists will leave for Obama’s incoming staff.

  21. pete says:

    EugeneDebs:

I like to call the #2 tactic, “watch the shiny bunny“. Though I suppose a simple “number two” is descriptive as well. I do get tired of the trolls crapping all over the place!

    Despicable and disgusting.

TP: “Racial harrassment rife at EPA branch…” harassment has only one ‘r’ -

  23. questioneverything says:

That’s what you get when the idiots are in charge. All of these things are against the law. PERIOD.

  24. Doc Rock says:

Trickle down is working! Corruption is trickling down everywhere. The top is rotten and the whole barrel of the Cheney-Bush administration is a rotting, putrid mass.
