Gender blind? Was he gender blind when picking his VP in 2000?

“I’m going to pick somebody who can be president of the United States and somebody with whom I can get along,” he told ABC’s “This Week” in a rare talk show appearance. “I’m going to take a lot of factors into consideration. Obviously issues matter, a person’s voting record matters, where they’re from matters, their gender matters.”

Then that is the ONLY blindness Bush does not have. He sure as hell can’t see anything else – an economy in the toilet with banks and Wall Street circling the bowl, a net loss of jobs every month for the past six months, the highest unemployment in 6 years, a government he has persistently broken, grievous breaches of ethics in EPA, Minerals Management, other agencies – you name it and Bush is blind as a bat.

PERINO: I’ve been fortunate to work for a president who I consider to be the first gender blind president. I have a seat at the table. I feel very confident and very comfortable in my relationships with the others — with others that I work with at the White House. And there’s many other women throughout the Cabinet that the president has appointed.

Way back when, Republicans and Democrats weren’t a whole lot different. In 1917 women’s Suffrage became a big issue. An all female protest outside of Dem. President Woodrow Wilson’s White House was met with considerable police brutality and brutal imprisonment. It took until 1919 for the 19th amendment to be passed by the Republican controlled Congress and signed into law by the Democratic president.

Since then the GOP as policy has chosen to keep females in their place whilst the Democrats have gradually advanced their power and representation.
