Today, Martha Stewart dedicated her show to blogging, featuring Politico bloggers Jonathan Martin and Ben Smith. Stewart pointed out that Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) — by his own admission — doesn’t know how to use a computer, and said she would feel “weird, really weird” about having a president who doesn’t understand “the most current mode of communication.” Watch it:
Stewart praised the bloggers: “It’s great. You’re really out there and informing us, and I’m grateful for that.”
It will feel really weird, really weird when McGonnaDieSoon kicks the bucket and Caribou Nazi Barbie starts her wars with Iran and Russia...
....radiation does that sort of thing.
September 17th, 2008 at 1:54 pmJohn McCain's no Stephen Hawking.
September 17th, 2008 at 1:57 pmand said she would feel “weird, really weird” about having a president who doesn’t understand “the most current mode of communication.”
I feel more weird with so many people stupid enough to actually consider voting for the useless old clod...........
September 17th, 2008 at 1:58 pmBut, remember, he invented the Blackberry!!
September 17th, 2008 at 1:59 pmIt's a very good thing.
September 17th, 2008 at 1:59 pmThis quote comes from a woman who has been to prison.
September 17th, 2008 at 1:59 pmI'm sure she had some "weird, really weird" feelings in the big house.
That's a good thing.
September 17th, 2008 at 1:59 pmAhhhh. At last. A wise word from a woman who actually can run a corporation.
September 17th, 2008 at 1:59 pmI would feel really weird with another conservative president after the unmitigated disaster of the Bush administration. These cons have proven they CAN. NOT. GOVERN. They simply lack the ability. Time to stop making the same mistake and expecting different results.
September 17th, 2008 at 1:59 pmWow, he can operate a cell phone,,that's just like a real phone with only one extra button (send) to push. Impressive,,, I guess a computer keyboard with all those other buttons would be way too much for McCain. Not my president!
September 17th, 2008 at 2:00 pmWell, there goes the upper middle class, white female, pie-making demographics that McDepends was counting on.
Way to go Martha!!
September 17th, 2008 at 2:02 pmShort Story ~
I worked as the buyer at a start up natural food distributor in Seattle in 1985. They took over the assets of a bankrupt co-op and things went OK, except for modernizing the antique Wang VS65 computer system.
After trying to modify the COBOL business inventory/sales system for two years, we tried to find a replacement.
Our CIO didn't know shit about project management and the CEO didn't know how to use a computer, not even a green screen.
Two years later, after spending a million dollars, the board sold the company to our biggest competitor.
Lesson:
Your leader really does need to know about computer stuff to be a successfull company/nation...
September 17th, 2008 at 2:04 pm.
McPOW...
McWar Hero...
McInjuries...
... Prevent Johnny from being computer literate.
Is that all?
.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:04 pmMartha was used as a scapegoat by these people. She knows personally how they operate.
When they had to make a show of sending someone to prison, she was chosen to take the fall and I'm not saying she didn't deserve it but if she did then there are many more who deserve it much more.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:07 pmI'm gonna feel really wierd when all of my savings is gone because I have to help bailout all these friggin' companies.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:08 pmPriceless, absolutely Priceless! Now if only the MSM will Finally start reporting this stuff (Despite the McWorse Whine that it will cause), perhaps the reality-based 73% of the American population can Finally realise that the Republican Candidate is an inept, incapable, clueless dolt!
September 17th, 2008 at 2:09 pmImpeach Pelosi, Cheney and Bush and Save the Constitution!
Impeach Palin and Restore the Rule of Law!
RUC @ 12
And that was 23 years ago. When McStain was 49.
How truly incurious do you have to be to have lived in this country for the last 30 years and still have no clue about computers?
What does it say about McStain when my mind is saying "well, at least Bush could ______ (fill in the blank)"?
PEACE
September 17th, 2008 at 2:11 pmPrivatize the profits, socialize the losses...Heard a couple of days ago on this blog...
September 17th, 2008 at 2:11 pmLots of parents feel weird about McCain complaining about Obama voting to help protect children from sexual predators.
I know I do.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:11 pmYour leader really does need to know about computer stuff to be a successfull company/nation…
McInsane upon seeing a computer:
"Why did they hook that TV up to that typewriter"?
September 17th, 2008 at 2:12 pmI'm about a thousand bucks away from putting every last nickel of my 401k into a 1.5% annuity guaranteed account.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:13 pmBy all means vote Obama to keep Martha from feeling weird! I would much rather have a president that doesn’t know how to use a computer than one that can’t place his hand over his heart during the national anthem.

Not too long ago, I would have turned my nose up at 1.5% - I guess I should look into this now...
September 17th, 2008 at 2:16 pmthem_libs is pro child-molester, hence his support for McCain, who complained in an ad about Obama's support of a bill that would help protect children from sexual predators.
why do you want to keep children vulnerable to child molestes, them_libs?
you're sick
September 17th, 2008 at 2:16 pmMcCan't can operate his Jitterbug now, except it so "techie" he thinks its a Blackberry.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:16 pmOT, but FYI:
Today's Gallop Daily Tracking 3-day rolling poll went from McCain 47 - Obama 46 on Monday to McCain 45 - Obama 47 yesterday. And yesterday's McGaffefest should see a widening again tomorrow.
The trend lines are moving again, just as they should.
PEACE
September 17th, 2008 at 2:17 pmy'know, this stuff may be having an effect. The latest RCP poll roundup shows
Gallup tracking = Obama 47/45
Rassmussen trkg = McIIIrd 47/46
Hotline FD trkg = Obama 45/42
Reuters Zogby = Obama 47/45
Bloom off the rose, Ms Palienation?

I'd rather have one like Obama who actually loves America than one who just says it to get his way.

September 17th, 2008 at 2:17 pmFritz, that's my 10% floor. If I move 10% from my peak within a six month period, I bolt.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:18 pmare you a child molester, them_libs?
just asking, since you support mccain who is anti-child and wants to expose children to molestation
September 17th, 2008 at 2:18 pmWow, just wow...Think I will have to go to KMart and buy a couple of Martha Stewart was cloth's to celebrate that one...Good job Martha, now can you help us put impeachment back on the put's palosis table.....Impeach all the bad guy's and gal's and replace with honest people please.....Blessings
September 17th, 2008 at 2:18 pmI feel really weird about anyone who is swayed by what Martha Stewart says about politics.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:19 pmI don't know how weird it would be to have a president who doesn't use a computer -- after all, we currently have a president who doesn't read newspapers.
McCain's computer skill (or lack thereof) is a non-issue. Like flag pins. Or POW experience. Or tanning beds.
What will make ME feel weird is a president who doesn't understand the economy, doesn't understand diplomacy, doesn't understand what average Americans need to get by, doesn't understand the causes of terrorism, and doesn't understand the basic principles of climate science. These are the things our next leader will need to have a grip on in order to lead this country out of the mess it's currently in. I would take the most computer illiterate person on the planet if he excels in all these other areas.

September 17th, 2008 at 2:20 pmOn a personal level, I don't think I would like Martha Stewart, but she was royally screwed by the establishment a few years ago and I give her credit for her tenacity and boldness.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:22 pmHey them libs, do you actually believe the shit that Reich radio/tv feed you? This story was debunked the day it came out. It was NOT the national anthem but God Bless America that Obama was observing. God Bless America does not traditionally require hand over heart. Maybe you should remove head from ass.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:22 pmthem_libs:
September 17th, 2008 at 2:22 pmGreat! Do what you want. I am not sure anyone really cares but hey knock yourself out and thanks for sharing...

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
You DO know you are a moron right? You place your hand over your heart for the Pledge of Allegance you just stand for the National Anthem. Here is a photo of Bush during the National Anthem why his hand ISNT OVER HIS HEART. Do you know why the left didnt throw a fit about this? BECAUSE WE ARENT IGNORANT HIVEMIND MORONS. You are so stupid why do you keep embarassing youself so mercilessly? It really is time to let someone ELSE do your thinking for you. The current crop of Limborg idiots are just making a fool out of you
September 17th, 2008 at 2:22 pmcmlane calls them_libs a silly person…
way to stick it to the silly person cmlane. Cheers.

I gotta agree with that
September 17th, 2008 at 2:24 pmStrike 1: Failed HP exec says McCain couldn't run a company.
Strike 2: Martha Stewart worried that he can't make centerpieces out of pine cones.
What will Strike 3 be ?
September 17th, 2008 at 2:26 pmthem_libs is SOOOO informed on the key issues of this campaign. I bet it even finds McDepends total lack of basic knowledge of economics and his lack of integrity as just an "inconvenient truth".
Typical blind 23%er!
September 17th, 2008 at 2:31 pmthem libs has provided another jacka$$ comment today.
As if putting one's hand over one's heart during the anthem is significant of anything. Check out any ballgames lately?
We are taught in school to put the hand over the heart during the pledge -- and to stand at attention during the anthem.
Actually, originally, the hand was raised up during the pledge (like one who would tbe taking an oath) but was later changed to placing it over the heart.
Go ponder your newfound knowledge, jerk.

Martha was used as a scapegoat by these people. She knows personally how they operate.
As a woman, she was getting too uppity and needed to be put in her place.
(I sure hope the sarcasm is obvious.)
September 17th, 2008 at 2:33 pmClick on "them libs" and you get a picture of Obama in an over-sized suit with a header of "empty suit". Empty suit, eh? If I had one for your GOP headliner it would be LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE with McCan'ts arse in flames and Palin fanning them bigger.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:34 pmSmear campaigns can't compete with the truth and the truth is your party is a bunch of lying, egotistical, religious twits who will lie over things they can easily be called out on. We don't even have to call you out on it as a party, the media is actually catching all this and reporting it for a change. 134 lobbyists, Rove and a whacked out running mate, no idea of how the economy or technology are important issues or how they work beyond the scope of terrorism and 9/11 and fear tactics, and "Vote for me, I was a POW in a war America hated!"
The GOP has NOTHING to offer, YOU are the empty suits--and empty heads.
Just think John, if you had only picked Martha to be your running mate.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:34 pmHey, A$$HOLE
them_libs Says:
can’t place his hand over his heart during the national anthem.
You do this on the Pledge of Allegiance, not the national anthem.
You stick you head in the toilet, you need a brain flush.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:56 pmWhy is there any need to kill the messenger? Martha Stewart is a smart lady and she is much more well known than anyone I know. Therefore, I am happy to have her voice my concern. NO ONE in this day and age is competent to be president of the US. or any country who is not computer literate. Period. No equivocation.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:58 pm#22 - So, you'd prefer a vice president who doesn't even want her home state to be a part of the US? I'm sure she puts her hand over her heart at all the right times; she just won't put her hand on a Bible & swear to tell the truth...about ANYTHING!!

September 17th, 2008 at 3:10 pmhey "them libs"...not to point the obvious to you BUT, it is DISREPECTFUL to wear the flag in any way, shape or form AND, that includes a lapel pin. http://www.ushistory.org/betsy/flagetiq.html
September 17th, 2008 at 3:38 pmI've been hammering away at this for the last couple of weeks - Rethuglican economic strategy has always been to...
PRIVATIZE the profits.
SOCIALIZE the losses.
Ask McHoover how that's working out for our economy.
September 17th, 2008 at 3:41 pmGeorge Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, FDR?
Some of the best president's that we've had, never used a computer.
What is Martha talking about?
:)
September 17th, 2008 at 4:08 pmActually, FDR financed some of the first computers used in warfare. They were mostly used in ballistics computations, and were geared but they did the job aboard our battleships in WWII. ENIAC was developed for the same purpose, but was a little late for the total effort.

Of course, 3 of the 4 have been DEAD for nearly 150 years, and longer, and FDR would undoubtedly been quite computer literate, were he alive today.

September 17th, 2008 at 5:33 pmMartha Stewart? The TP minions care what Martha Stewart says?
John McCain learned how to fly jets minions. Using computers to send email is really not a big deal to someone who knows how to fly jets.
Does Obama know how to fly a jet? How about Biden? Ooohhh but they can send email so they must be better than McCain. I am freeeking impressed.
You think that this is a big story and you're on to something by posting this garbage?
September 18th, 2008 at 12:11 amTim of all the ignorant hivemind morons that troll this site you are the stupidest piece of garbage. Even stupider than Tracy as incredible as that is. Even MORE ignrant than Darryldumass. You have achieved top of the ignorance heap. Next you can compete with Hannity for the most ignorant carbon based lifeform in existance. He is a worthy adversary. Setting the stupidity standard for the last decade or so. Personally I think ya got the chops. I think the way you have been blazing new trails of stupidity you can give him a run for his money. Now go play nice with the other challenged children and let the adults talk
