Ok, the next time a Republican says that for the past two years the Dem Congress has done nothing...can the Dem on the show please, please, please respond that it is because President Bush vetoes anything of merit they pass?

It is such an easy response and I have not seen one Dem use it yet in the past few weeks...and I watch CNN/MSNBC a lot!

This country is in trouble all around. The fact that a R-presidential candidate thinks that everything is ok in his world, is not ok for the American people. It's not ok to be forced to buy this high priced gas. It's not ok to be sitting in a government position and not know what the world is going on. It's not ok for people be forced into foreclosure. It's not ok to have a weak economy. It's not ok for people to be without Free Public Health care funded by the government. It's not ok to manipulate the voters by a quick gimmick to choose a woman as his running VP. What this decision has proved to me is that he should be manager of a discount store. The executive office, president needs to be run by someone who can manage a country. Hire their VP with the skills to manage our country, someone who is familiar with foreign affairs and their leaders. Hire the best individual who has previous abilities to run this country all around. To feed the country with manipulation to this degree will only result in something worse than what we are going through now... You build a country with prosperity, strength, leadership, knowledge and determination. Why fool the people with a clever gimmick...will that help us????

Personally, I think Mathews is one of the better commentators on TV. Of course, I like Maddow and Olberman better, but I think Mathews is pretty impartial and they are obvious lefties. He's been ripping these jerkoffs for a long time now. A few days ago he tore apart some GOP dimwit for the idiotic commercial McCain ran accusing Obama of calling Palin a pig. He was pretty critical in his comments about Fiorino the other day too. And also a few months ago he had one of his best moments when he ripped apart another right wing radio nut (Kevin James) who was trying to defend Bush after he implied that Obama was an appeaser like Chamberlain.

I think his biggest failing is he loves politics a little too much. It's just my opinion, but I think he does a pretty fair job on his show.

hanshiro Says:

Actually, Matthews and Cantor were both doing the exact…same…thing; distancing themselves from their earlier sucking-up.

I ain’t buyin’ it, Tweety….
_________

Hmmm... excellent point, hanshiro.

There was a time, not so long ago, when Tweety had his head so far up Botch's keister, he could read Jeff Gannon's wrist watch.

I watched this in amazement tonight -- Matthews was merciless with Cantor.
He managed to express his affection for McCain as a person, but there was no doubt that Matthews is holding the Republicans and Bush, McCain and his lobbyists, Gramm and deregulation for the financial disaster we are facing.
It was a sight to behold.
If you want to see it in full, Hardball is on replay later tonight. MSNBC is finally getting rid of those awful prison documentaries. (I hope.)

In a contentious segment on “Hardball” tonight, host Chris Matthews accused Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) and his conservative allies of “taking off your uniforms,” pretending they’re not Republicans, and running against President Bush. “I’m not going to let anyone get away with that kind of foolery,” Matthews said.

Matthews is right about republicans hiding their party affiliation, I just got a mailer today from someone running for governor in NC, my state. I looked all over the mailer and not one did it mention what party he belonged to. Then I looked at the fine print on the bottom...

Where is Daryll to tell us what the bible says about what to do in times of financial crisis'? You know, when the stocks make their way to hell's gates and all.

Or is D-to-the-double-l's putting all of his vast finances in Unicef milk cartons and ready to put it in the Bank of Rev. Popoff? You know, the "tax free" bank where God will give you back the return in thousands of dollars through the vow of tithe.

dono Says:
That is right, no Rep. red anywhere in sight. I was like ‘what is this a new party? More like a pig with lipstick (and no, dont flatter yourself Sarah).

I have noticed some Republicans with blue signs here also, they are running from their own party.
