That’s a pretty weak response. Nowhere do you challenge McCain’s statements on the Senate floor or the bill he cosponsored that called for greater regulation and oversight. Instead you bring up a quote where McCain acknowledges his pro-deregulation ways. But one can be inclined towards deregulation without being universally opposed to any sort of regulation. As he said in the very video you linked to, he realizes there is a need for government oversight.

As the Washington Post reported the other day, McCain has backed some regulations, including FDA regulation on tobacco and, at the time, Sarbanes-Oxley. So, I hope you’re able to see the nuance in this, and perhaps next time you can actually address the bill proposed by Senator McCain.
