The Sacramento Bee reports that Proposition 8, a California constitutional amendment that would ban same-sex marriage, has “lost support during the past two months and now trails by a 17-point margin.”
You have to understand why democrats and others support gay rights and unions…because it means republicans may finally come out of the closet and multiply less.
HEY! TP!
I am trying to send this to you on your tip sheet and it is not going through.
From Alternet.org
An election whistleblower who is a Republican, a nationally known data security and computer architecture expert, and an Ohio resident has filed a sworn affidavit in federal court that describes how Republican Party consultants in 2004 built an electronic vote counting network in Ohio that could have stolen votes to re-elect the president.
The whistleblower, Stephen Spoonamore, who has run or held senior technology positions in six technology companies, and whose clients have included MasterCard, American Express, NBC-GE, and federal agencies including the State Department and the Navy, said Mike Connell, a longtime Republican Party computer networking contractor, “agrees that the electronic voting systems in the US are not secure” and told Spoonamore in 2007 “that he (Connell) is afraid some of the more ruthless partisans of the GOP may have exploited systems he in part worked on for this purpose.”
I suspect that because Ellen Degeneres, George Takei, and many other gay people in California are tying the knot AND THE WORLD ISN’T COMING TO AN END, many Californians are wondering what all the fuss was about.
It’s hard to keep a mob outraged when fear is taken out of the mix.
The “California bigots” want to get their faces on TV and get the holy “men & women” into their churches, to up their $$$ revenues. Lets face it, the option for an outdoors ceremony is kicking their tails in more ways than one.
God doesn’t supply the dollars to those who don’t fill the seats…or the reception hall next door afterwards.

Yes, and ANOTHER reason to TAX religious entitites as entertainers. They are nothing more than magicians/and or motivational speakers. Do we give them a tax break?
This is shockingly good news. Almost every election in CA has some proposition that appeals to the radical right to get them wound up and into the polling stations; but, this time it may not deliver the regressive vote.
I just played (jazz) a gay wedding this weekend, and it was not only the most elegant and tasteful wedding I have ever been to, but one of the most moving.
It’s about all our rights, folks. 8777777777777u888888888u
(Sorry, that was the cat typing) All of us should sit up and take notice when anyone starts to curtail the rights of any other group. The thin end of the wedge as it were.
Opposition to Prop 8 is probably overstated by 5% to 7% due to people embarrassed to demonstrate their bigotry in a poll.

How can this statement be ANYTHING other than speculation and an attempt at mindreading? California has a tradition of being tolerant and valuing tolerance.
Proposition 8 is going to pass unless they start hitting back hard! The no on 8 people are political novices and are being creamed in the ad wars on content. Yes on 8 ads are clearly working because they use tried and true fear tactics. No on 8 needs to cut the warm and fuzzy crap and start driving home with this message “Are you going to let the Mormon Church and Pat Robertson rewrite the California Constitution to reflect their extremist values?”. They need to use those right wing extremists crazy quotes and brand prop 8 as their scary creature, and fast. Anybody out there who cares should contact the No on 8 people and let them know loud and clear that they better start getting ugly, like the other side, or this things going to slip away from us forever! Be afraid, be very afraid!
Gay, shmay… How really cares? (to quote Bob Dylan).
In a certain Spanish-American news interview today, some one recalled, “Remember the Maine,” but they couldn’t quite place it…
September 18th, 2008 at 8:40 pmYou have to properly vet your Republicans and religious leaders to see if they don’t live in 1959.
September 18th, 2008 at 9:53 pmRemind me again why who you fall in love with and marry affects my marriage?
September 18th, 2008 at 10:08 pmAre the hatemongers slipping in the polls?
September 18th, 2008 at 10:11 pmWhy would anyone care about what others do if no harm comes of it and it makes people happy?
repugs will always try to control us liberals/progressives when they can’t control their own party sexual habits.
Oh yeah marriage is scared when it’s done from a bung cord or dress as characters from Star Wars.
September 18th, 2008 at 10:15 pmReality (a.k.a. The 21st Century) is about to dump a big load on their front lawns. The poor losers are going to be, ummm, bitter.

That alone is worth the effort…
