Days after embarrassing McCain, Fiorina abruptly cancels appearance at GOP rally.

carly.jpgEarlier this week, after McCain economic adviser Carly Fiorina bluntly declared that neither Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) nor Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin were capable of running a major corporation, McCain campaign officials told CNN that Fiorina would “disappear” because McCain was “furious” at her comments. Though the official said “disappear” meant that she “would be off TV for a while,” Fiorina’s appearance at a Republican rally in Florida was abruptly canceled on Friday:

Former Hewlett-Packard chief Carly Fiorina, the scheduled keynote speaker for Saturday’s Republican rally in Estero, was noticeably absent.

Ruth Rodrigues of the Florida Federation of Republican Women, District 7 in Lee County, said campaign officials for presidential nominee John McCain called Friday to tell her Fiorina would not be attending the event where she was scheduled to be the main attraction.

An organizer for the event said that “Fiorina’s appearance was organized by the McCain campaign, and canceled by it.” The McCain campaign gave “no reason for the change.”

    Fiorina…distraction.

The rich robbing the poor..what can we do..what did our forefathers do?

“The McCain campaign gave ‘no reason for the change’”. Surely you don’t think it takes a rocket scientist to figure this one out?

McCain is probably furious and having one of his legendary temper tantrums, and Palin would like to scratch her eyes out and pull out her hair. McCain would like to call her a “trollop” (or worse) for raining on his parade and Palin wuld like to shoot and field dress her (ala Moose)for exposing the shrill shill as a know-nothing opportunist.

And it’s just damn hard to deal with a rat living under your floorboards when you can’t publicly use poison.

They brought her on board, they have to deal with it. McCain’s camp doesn’t seem to do well with vetting, does it?

  3. Marie says:

Blunt speaking Fiorina drew the ire of McCain. She is “dead” to him.

“Earlier this week, after McCain economic adviser Carly Fiorina bluntly declared that neither Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) nor Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin were capable of running a major corporation…”

It is one of the BEST Obama tactics I ever seen. How unbeleiveably effective. Get their own to realize that Mcshitforbrains is not worthy of the office. Why didn’t I realize that first.

    Brilliant Obama, BRILLIANT!!!

  5. LiberalVoter says:

With Fiorina, it is all about Fiorina. She is totally wrapped up in her own ego. It would be interesting to hear her answer if asked if she would be a better VP than Palin.

  6. stateofthedivision says:

Maybe Kenneth Duberstein can take Carly’s place on the McCon-Pullin’ tour. Ken served on the board of Fannie Mae from 1998-2007. He approved those generous severance plans for Jim Johnson & Franklin Raines in those McCon ads.

Duberstein helped McCon with his Presidential run in 2000, before heading up George W.’s White House transition team. You can run from your past McCon, but not fast enough…

    Obama’s Johnson = McCain’s Duberstein

    >It is one of the BEST Obama tactics I ever seen.

Actually, Im going to say that Obama could say ONE SENTENCE during the debates that would singlehandedly win him the presidencey…all he has to say is “in his time on the senate floor, john mccain has deserted his fellow veterans on every issue of importance to their well being”

mccain would fly into a tantrum and his petulance would be boldly diplayed for the world to see..its very likely such a statement would singlehandedly cause him to fly into a delerious, demented, profanity filled rage, because he thinks that his being unable to dodge anti-aircraft fire means no one is allowed to question him about his dedication to veterans issues..

  8. LiberalVoter says:

Just to be clear, I do not what to have either Palin or Fiorina as the vp, or the president for that matter. What a chilling thought. Same goes for McCain. He has really tanked since 2000.

  9. gummitch says:

Chocolate Jesus, I can imagine the tantrum now. “Get off my lawn, you lawn jockey! I’m a POW!”

  10. stateofthedivision says:

McCain had a supremely bad week, the icing of which is citing America’s financial innovation as a model for health insurance reform.

I don’t want my social security account to suffer from the greed and excesses of Wall Street. Nor do I want health insurors to offer more vaporware products than they already do.

  11. spencers mom says:

Quiz: Who said this, Bush or McStain?

“Anyone who criticizes us will be disappeared, even if they are telling the truth.”

Doesn’t matter, same mindset. McSame, McBlame, McShame.

    PEACE

Heaven forbid a repug not goose-step with the next figurehead of the criminal cabal that brought us dur chimpfurher.

  13. Another Joe says:

It would be interesting to hear her answer if asked if she would be a better VP than Palin.

Probably why they threw her under the bus…

Of course, she did such a great job at HP, I mean, gee… She knows how to run a corporation, right?

Well, maybe she is an “expert” on being incompetent to run one.

  14. Another Joe says:

McCain had a supremely bad week, the icing of which is citing America’s financial innovation as a model for health insurance reform.

Watch it – we may see him get away with that yet. Typical repug/rove style tactic. Take the weakest issue and proclaim it to be a strong point.

Only possible with the help of the lying liars in the mainstream media though. It’s not “brilliant” or even clever – it is just how propaganda works and it is effective when the mighty wurlitzer plays your tune.

  15. Marie says:

Watching the morning shows today, I question why is it not a good thing to be calm in the face of a crisis? Why is it not a good thing to be intelligent in pondering problems? Why is it not good to be measured and reasonable in speaking?

What is wrong with people? Have we all been dumbed down so much in recent years that we are skeptical of someone who isn’t a stupid, reactionary buffoon who can speak only in sound bites?

  16. Krazny says:

    Marie,

A great deal of goes to the supposed “liberal elite” question. The right wing blowhards like Limbaugh and Hannity have been spreading this to anyone who will listen. This means anyone who would take a thoughtful approach to anything is unamerican.

  17. Chocolate Jesus says:

    > Chocolate Jesus, I can imagine the tantrum now.
    > “Get off my
    > lawn, you lawn jockey! I’m a POW!”

McCain is so full of himself because of his P.O.W. status that he’d probably become so enraged he’d use a racial epithet against barak which would singlehandedly sink him faster than his plane went down in nam..

Am I the only one who thinks that people like Florina may be intentionally saying these sort of thigns to put as much daylight as possible between themselves and mccain? Does anyone not sexually aroused by the concept of armageddon really beleive anything good could possibly come of a mccain presidencey? or even his candidacy?

  18. Xisithrus says:

Damn sexists thru a woman under the bus.

    Snark

  19. LiberalVoter says:

Chocolate Jesus, Having lived through the horror of Fiorina’s reign I can tell you what ever she is doing it is in her own best interest. That McCain chose her is very telling in his lack of good sense. Then again, every time he opens his mouth his lack of good sense is evident.

  20. Xisithrus says:

    *threw

style a bot a sloop hear.

  21. NOLIESPLEASE says:

Republican Mafia no different from the real Mafia. If you tell the truth about the family, your gone. Give it time….the way the Repugs are going… they’ll kill themselves off by Election time.

Mr. Gotty must be laughing from down below. He figured they (the Repugs)would have learned by his mistakes. But then again, Gotty had more brains then the entire Repug party put together. At least the Mafia doesn’t let there empire crumble like the REPUGS HAVE DONE.

  22. MrSquirrel says:

Would this be a bad time to propose privatizing Social Security again?

Maybe that’s another question he should be asked. After all, he has shown an interest in it in the past, and has voted for bills to partially privatize it.

We as deserve to know right now if this is part of his economic “plan”.

  23. bigeugene says:

I actually miss Carly…her public appearances were good for Dems.

  24. BrianFL says:

How ironic that the very woman who the McCain camp sent out to portray McCain as working for women was removed from her role in the campaign the moment she told the truth.

McCain doesn’t even support women in his own campaign who are dedicated to getting him elected, let alone the average women of America.

  25. SP Biloxi says:

Yup, Fiorina is not just a distraction for McCain Camp but a major pill that is hard to swallow. Fiorina was finito when she discussed the gov’t bailouts for the failed businesses when she, herself,[fired from HP] was one of many CEOs that received a balloon package. Earth to McSame camp: You don’t put a fired CEO from a corporate business who received a balloon package to talk about the gov’t bailouts and two CEOs of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac being denied balloon packages.

  26. VietnamVet says:

Well, that is about par for the course with the GOP, right? It is perfectly OK to lie, but if you tell the truth, you are not one of us!

  27. prettybabe says:

Holy cow! McCain pulled a Harry Houdini and made Fiorina disappear from his campaign! Poor baby … Oops! That’s sexist! Fiorina shouldn’t have said that neither McCain nor Palin can run a huge company like an experienced CEO. Now to turn into Robin of Batman fame … POW! WHACK! BANG! HOLY CRAP! Fiorina, if you were such a hot shot CEO, why aren’t you still there? What the heck. She ain’t hurtin’ for money. The multi-million dollar severance package she got is assurance that Miss Prissy will be sitting pretty high for the rest of her life.

Now if this were Obama sending one his spokesperson out the door for making this statement, how fast would the media try to make a news story where there isn’t one. Headline: OBAMA THROWS SPOKESWOMAN UNDER BUS! McCain, as usual, gets another free ride from criticism.
