Palin will reportedly assist the ‘Troopergate’ probe she requested.

On Sept. 2, just after she was chosen as John McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin filed an ethics complaint against herself with the state’s Personnel Board in an effort to squelch the state legislature’s investigation into her firing of the state Public Safety Commissioner. The Personnel Board consists of three members appointed by Palin’s predecessor, Frank Murkowski (Palin re-appointed one of them). The McCain campaign recently sent lawyers to Alaska to shut down the investigation. But according to ABC News, Palin may now cooperate with her own inquiry:

Attorneys for Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin met with a special investigator for the Alaska Personnel Board earlier today to broker her cooperation with the panel’s own probe of the scandal now known as “Troopergate,” according to sources close to the matter.

Update The McCain campaign says Palin fired former Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan because he traveled to D.C. "to seek federal money for investigating and prosecuting sexual assault cases."

    – - Really? The McCain campaign has done nothing but try to shut it down. If this is true, why doesn’t the Anchorage Daily News mention it today?

. . . .and her assistance will begin on or after November 5th.

She’s learned to flipper like her mentor! First she will, then she won’t, now she will. Certainly won’t be until after 11/5, but she’ll probably change a few more times before then just to stall it off.

Yep, she;s a devout reich winger alright, create the problem and help the big gun’s cover up…Kind of remind’s me of cat’s and litter boxe’s, trouble is the stink stay’s……Blessings

Less than a month and she’s flipflopping already.
They must feel confident that they have worked out the proper “arrangements” for the outcome they want.

Read carefully, TP. This is no big deal, because she’s offering to cooperate with the three-person panel that is part of the Executive branch, not with the investigation by the Legislature.

    Did you see this article?

Palin, McCain, Franklin Graham and the christianists, Troopergate, the rightwingnuts — it seems to all be tied together.

    Exactly, gum.

This “cooperation” is a sham. The bipartisan investigation is still stonewalled, and she’ll “cooperate” with the all-Republican panel that will no doubt find “no evidence of wrongdoing”.

    It’s the Republican way.

  13. dasm says:

I agree with others. She’ll only cooperate with the 3 member, all GOP panel. She’s a fraud, and this is in keeping with that.

  14. Bilbo Hussein Baggins says:

So, three people who are beholden to Sarah Barracuda for their jobs are going to impartially arbitrate this complaint. And this is all knowing what a vindictive b!tch she is. RIGHT…and I have a bridge to sell you.

  15. questioneverything says:

The Alaska Personnel Board was appointed by Palin and is under her control. When will this crap end? When people know what is really going on in Alaska and Warshington (as McCain says). I will not pay for Sarah Palin to be my vice president. Period. Pitchforks are required.

So the LAST STRAW was Monegan taking a trip that Palin’s chief of staff had authorized? Have I got that right?

  19. Gregor Samsa says:

    Isn’t that cute?

A Republican graciously agreeing to finally cooperate with the investigation that they started.

If memory serves, Bush started the trend: He stubbornly refused to cooperate -for weeks- with the 9/11 commission that he created , until he agreed to meet with them, behind closed doors, for no more than an hour.

OF course, what the rest of us get is our phone conversations wiretapped illegally. Goes to show rules only apply to the little people…

Independent here. Trooper-gate? Everybody should care! Investigation will reveal if laws were broken and criminal prosecution is in order. Stalling will not help avoid criminal charges after election. Even should McCain win, Palin can be prosecuted if crime committed. She would then be impeached by Democrat Congress. McCain”s people know this but care less because, Palin expendable AFTER election. Prior to Nov 4, she is best hope to get conservatives to polls and vote McCain. Conservatives being suckered AGAIN by same people who suckered them voting for BUSH. Look at former BUSH people running McCain campaign. Sucker born every minute…but suckered in 2000 then 2004 now 2008? Might as well tattoo STUPID on forehead. Now for current situation. Incredible! Investigate BUT forget where it started…never mind Republicans asked for it and it was unanimous. No, investigate ONLY if it is by people I appointed and can fire. Don’t worry I never fire my own appointees…remember Wasilla? My appointees WILL be impartial, honest, really. I cooperate ONLY if I can investigate myself…er, sorry, personnel board does it. ANYONE be so stupid to buy THAT if not blinded by WIN WIN WIN objective? Me, I’m not voting Obama. Don’t like the guy. Simple. At least I’m honest. Don’t care she GUILTY. Doesn’t matter. AFTER election McCain will distance himself far from Palin same way he distance himself from BUSH now. AFTER election McCain don’t need Palin. Conservatives so gullible. Yup tattoo stupid on forehead.
