I’ve yet to hear boo from my representative, Mike Conaway, R-TX. He’s a certified public accountant, thus he took an oath to uphold the public trust. That could explain his silence….either that or he’s written this pesky citizen off.

Why are the DEMS supporting this bailout? It scares me that they want to rush into this crap.

Many are not … if the goppers can get the dems to support this, against the will of the people, and they play theatrics – enough to get in the media, uprising against this bailout then they hope/think their numbers will improve. I believe this is a desperate tactic. When have these goppers EVER cared about the will of the people except during election time?

Watch in abject horror as the bailout plan fails to curb the market downfall. This is eminently predictable, since we’re in an asset devaluation, not a liquidity crisis. In other words, the problem with the economy isn’t that banks need $1 trillion to feel confident about making more loans. The problem is that banks leveraged more than the entire world’s GDP in mortgage-backed securities and credit default swaps alone–and that paper is barely worth a fraction of its former outrageously inflated value. There isn’t enough money to throw at this problem and still make a dent. And even if you print the money, the rest of the world is likely to call in their chips.

Step 9. Watch as Republicans tell America that we we would have weathered the economic crisis had there been no bailout or just a straight-up giveaway to the banks, but that Democrats killed the economy by allowing irresponsible minority borrowers to pay off their mortgages at a lower rate, thereby killing the value of those mortgages and sending home prices into steeper decline and lowering the value of the mortgage-based leverage held by the banks.

I’ve now ‘lost’ $1000 profit–because I thought the economy was “strong” like I;d been told— and I’ve also lost $900 in real money (which has devalued as well now so it’s more like $950 lost).

Now Paulson wants to force me to buy the same thing I lost almost all my money on, not at $1 a share but at $20 a share? If not, Paulson warns, you’re going to lose money!!!

Does that sound about right?
