This morning, Fox News hosted right-wing blogger Michelle Malkin to assert tenuous ties between Sen. Barack Obama’s (D-IL) campaign and a viral video about Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) — despite the fact the video’s creator and the Obama camp deny any such link. After the segment, host Bill Hemmer marveled at how “fascinating” the Internet is. As he and co-host Megyn Kelly talked about the “total bunk” that floats around the Internet, Kelly gave a plug for their own medium. “Stick with cable!” she exhorted. “We’re here for you,” Hemmer agreed. Watch it:
Ironically enough, Kelly and Hemmer blame the Internet for passing along the false rumor that Obama is a Muslim — completely ignoring their own network’s central role in perpetuating that lie.
Fox’s Bill Hemmer: ‘It’s fascinating how little we know about’ how the Internet works.
Couldn’t the same be said of most Fox hosts about pretty much the whole world, aside from their hallowed niche of right-wing spin merchandising?
September 24th, 2008 at 7:17 pmJust look what’s “floating” around the Internet now –> http://www.nationalenquirer.com/national_enquirer_world_exclusive_sarah_palins_secret_lover_revealed/celebrity/65481
September 24th, 2008 at 7:18 pmI just love the smell of Faux NoNooz’s cratering! With BushCo down to the support of the 19%ers now, I am sure we will see a continuing augering in of Faux’s ratings, too.
September 24th, 2008 at 7:18 pmIt’s hard to keep all them tubes straight alright!
September 24th, 2008 at 7:18 pmIt’s even harder when you have no intellectual curiosity (a pre-requisite to work at Fox)
It’s fascinating how we little we know about packet switching.
I agree, Bill.
It’s also fascinating how little we know about how faucets work. I mean, it’s crazy! You turn a little knob and water comes out! And I’m not even near an ocean or anything! Weird.

September 24th, 2008 at 7:38 pmHey, Bill Hemmer!
September 24th, 2008 at 7:39 pmGo stand in the corner, with your nose against the wall, and repeat 1,000 times, out loud: “I am SO stupid”.
Assclowns of the Week is back this week. #70 is one of my better ones, yet.
Think Progress was a big help in deciding the roundup. Good work, guys.
September 24th, 2008 at 7:46 pm“Fire, fire, uggghh, ugghhh. Warm. Good?”
Yes, Bill…
September 24th, 2008 at 7:49 pmIt’s fascinating that anyone pays the slightest bit of attention to Faux News….
September 24th, 2008 at 7:51 pmFox’s Bill Hemmer: ‘It’s fascinating how little we know about’ how the Internet works.
Whats this we sh!t?
September 24th, 2008 at 7:51 pmMaybe for you, but not for someone who has been working in the field since the first web browser.
“Stick with cable!” she exhorted.
I do. That’s how I get my internet access. Idiots.
September 24th, 2008 at 7:53 pmWait, wait, is it zeros and ones, yes or no, or on or off that determines if-then-else operations? Computer things used to be so BASIC, with a little COBOL and FORTRAN thrown in. And what ever happened to the floppy disk drives? I’m so confused, I don’t know my RAM from my ROM anymore. Snark/
These dodos remind me of when I visited my mother in 1988 while I was on summer break from college. She picked up a book I had been reading and looking at it with disdain asked me who Miz Do’s was. I had to explain to her that the “ABC’s of MS Dos” was not the type of book she thought it was.
September 24th, 2008 at 8:08 pmThose right wing freaks at Fox Snooze have no idea how anything works!!
September 24th, 2008 at 8:17 pmit IS fascinating to see how little fox news knows.

thanks for the link.
September 24th, 2008 at 8:42 pmSlightly off topic, but I thought that Obama would make a bigger effort to use his understanding of technology to highlight the differences between him and McCain. The internet has been around for ~2 decades, and these right-wingers are still talking about how mystifying it is. If I were Obama I would constantly be referring to things like gene therapy, geothermal energy, even Wii + kindle, etc. – at least in certain settings. He is in a much better position to discuss new technologies and the issues surrounding them (including internet regulation). He should be making the point that we need someone in office who understands these technologies to be sure that technological innovation continues to be a hallmark of the US economy and identity. While this argument would certainly appeal to youngsters, older generations would also understand its significance. My parents are 65 and retired and they just bought a Wii, and I know several grandparents that Skype regularly. These things are part of our culture. McCain has no idea how to use the internet for crying out loud. How can anyone expect him to understand technologies that change by the day?

So Barack Obama invented packet switching or what?
September 24th, 2008 at 10:31 pmWhat he’s really saying is how fascinating it is how little HE knows about the Internet! Right in line with all the other dunces at Faux.
